Ludacris Gives Information on Ludersal Album
Ludacris has been off and off the music scene for a while now. Ever since he started appearing in the fast and Furious movie series, he hasn't had much time for his rap career. But, in this recent interview with Billboard, Luda gave some details on when his 8th studio album, Ludaversal is probably going to drop.
"We're thinking around November. We're putting a single out this month and we're hoping for November. We're getting all our ducks in a row. Again, it's right now as I do another movie, the whole thing with Fast & Furious and how we had to stop production and start again. There was a whole plan to drop the album when I had time and then the whole movie got pushed back seven months. So I want to make sure there is a clear lane for me to just focus on music and go out and promote, as opposed to just dropping an album and not being able to back it up." (Billboard Interview)

Luda has been away for a while, I hope he can still get attention from the hip hop world...rap music listeners have a very short attention lifespan.
Lil Wayne's Tha Carter 5 Release Date and Cover-Art
The long awaited album from Lil Wayne, Tha Carter 5 has finally gotten a release date. Much more than that, Wayne also revealed the cover-art for the album on ESPN Sports Center today. According to Wayne, Tha Carter 5 is set to drop on the 28 of October. From Tha Carter 3, Lil Wayne started using his baby pictures as his album covers...this is a lil stretch further on that concept, with the addition of his mother to the cover. Nice! His mom sure was young when she had Wayne.
Jeezy Speaks on Controversial Album Cover for 'Seen It All'
Jeezy's fifth album, Seen It All is scheduled for a September 2nd release date, and the album cover-art just hit the Internet. It has people shouting ILLUMINATI because of the all-seeing-eye (which is the supposed logo of the secret society that everyone seems to know so much about). Jeezy has come forward to set things straight. During his recent interview Power 99 Philly radio station, he was asked about the Illuminati-themed album cover, and he said...
“I mean, I wanted to do a crest. I kind of was getting some of the feedback, the Illuminati. Let me say this first and foremost, do not get art and creativity confused with ignorance. I am a hard-working, God-fearing man. I have no idea what an Illuminati is and really don’t give a damn. It has nothing to do with me. I just wanted to do something different and something bigger. That was just my vision. It’s kind of a dark album, so I just wanted to have that kind of mystique about it. Something you wanted to keep as a collector’s edition. Even when Pac—not to compare—but when Pac did Makaveli and he put himself on that cross, that’s how he felt. He felt like it was him against the world, him against all odds. He put himself in that mind state. That’s just how I feel. I feel like I’m bigger than the music. I feel like I’m a leader. I can do that. I don’t wanna stand in front of a Lamborghini and give you another picture of me [with] five chains on. That’s wack for me. I’m nine years in the game, ten years in the game, I’m trying to push the envelope a little bit. But I’ll tell you this, the album cover is whatever, but when you open that album and play that album then we ain’t gon’ have this conversation. That music is A-1, you heard me? All that.”
Nice explanation, but Jeezy obviously wanted something to get people talking about his album, and it is working. Controversy always sells.
Lacrae "Anomaly" Tracklist
Lacrae is a man in a lane of his own. Gospel rap might not get you to platinum plaque status, but it has a large and dedicated audience enough to get you to sell over a hundred thousand copies every time you drop an album, and Lacrae is the biggest face of Gospel Rap right now. And the fact that he is an Independent artist even makes everything sweeter. His last album, Gravity (2012) has sold over 150,000 copies so far. He is about to drop his 7th album, Anomaly, and the album's track list just hit the Internet. Check it out below. By the way, the album is scheduled to drop on September 9th.

Countdown to Remy Ma's Release
Remy Ma has been in prison since 2008, but her days behind bars are numbered. She is coming home July 31, like 50 days from now, and her camp has started a campaign to build up anticipation before the day. I'm sure her husband, Papoose can't wait till she gets home. Remy was signed to Fat Joe's Terror Squad label in the early 2000, and got her first big break with Fat Joe on the Terror Squad mega-hit song, Lean Back.
Let's hope she shakes things up a bit in Hip Hop when she comes out. I wont even mind a lil beef between her and Nicki Minaj. Being that she is wearing a crown in this pic, I know Nicki would want to take offence. Let's see how this goes. Personally tho, Lil Kim is still the Queen to me...I don't care how messed up her face is.50 Cent Announces 'Street King Immortal' Release Date
50 Cent just dropped his fifth album, Animal Ambition last week Tuesday, and he is already working on dropping his sixth (Street King Immortal) later this year. The truth of the matter is that he already had Street King Immortal on deck last year, but couldn't get Interscope Records to cooperate with him on the actual promotion of the album. So, after he left Interscope, and became an Independent artist, he started promoting Animal Ambition (which first started out as a mixtape). Now that he has dropped Animal Ambition, and used the project to test the market, he is ready to drop his Street King Immortal album.
Below is what he had to say about the album's release date during his recent interview with The Daily Buzz.
"The next project, Street King Immortal, was already written before I wrote [Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire To Win]. That’s how I know to write it like this. Street King Immortal will actually be out in September. I have a real strict schedule. I’m going to be moving around a lot. It’s going to be a lot of work."
Although he didn't give an actual date, he said Street King Immortal would be dropping in September, and since he is now his own boss, there definitely will be no pushbacks.

First Week Sales Prediction of Nas's Illmatic XX Album
Nas is dropping the twentieth anniversary of his debut album, Illmatic next week Tuesday (April 15th to be precise). The album is titled Illmatic XX, and it is going to have ten extra tracks, making it twenty songs total. The ten extra songs will include remixes of original songs off Illmatic, and two unreleased songs from that era. As this is not a new album, I predict it would sell between 20-35k first week.

Birdman Gives Updates on Nicki Minaj's Third Album
Cash Money boss, Birdman/Baby gave updates on Nicki Minaj's upcoming third album during his recent interview with Billboard. He said although Nicki Minaj hasn't picked a release date for the album yet, he guarantees that it is dropping before the end of the year. He also added that Lil Wayne's Carter 5 would probably drop before Nicki's album.
"For the new album, she's doing what she feels like doing and we're supporting her. You hear a lot of growth in her music. She's coming confident and hard. We expect for this to be one of the biggest from her. It's more rap. This album is going to have a little bit of everything but more rap. I am sure some of the team will be on it. She's still doing her thing, then getting features on it. She's definitely coming this year. She hasn't picked a date yet. What she did for Young Money is totally different then what she's doing for her album. She's more girly-er. 'Tha Carter V' will definitely come before Nicki's." (Billboard)
Remy Ma List Rappers She Would Like to Work With
Former Terror Squad first lady, Remy Ma is getting out of jail in a couple of months, and in her recent interview with Billboard, she listed the rappers she would love to work with when she gets out. I am happy about her jail time almost being over...There is nothing worse than not having freedom to do what ever you want, and I know the past few years behind bars most have been hard for her. She has listed YG, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj and a host of other rappers as artists she would love to work with when she is released in July.
"There's a lot of people I want to work with. I want to definitely work with these MMG guys; I love what they're doing. I love Ross. I f*ck with Meek. He's one of my favorites right now. I love everything he puts out. I f*ck with French. I like Nicki. She's been doing her thing. I like that YG kid, a lot. When July comes around, I'm around. That's my motto: I'm around." (Billboard)

News on Kendrick Lamar's Second Album
'Good Kid, Mad City' is still selling 10, 000 copies averagely every week since it dropped in 2012, which is a testament to how good the album is. A lot of experts believe Kendrick Lamar needs to quickly drop a follow-up to his major label debut and ride the wave of popularity he currently has; but there are also some that feel he should stay scarce a little while longer, and increase his demand even more. I think the latter is really working in his favor, because whenever I go on Twitter, I read tweets from Hip Hop lovers who can't wait for that new Kendrick album to drop, and the album anticipation seems to keep growing every week.
News out right now is that it doesn't have a title yet, but that the album is scheduled for a September 2014 release. That is in six months time...enough time to spread the word, release some singles and build more anticipation for the album.

One of the label's bosses, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith dropped some info on already speculated rumors and more specifics in regards to previous announcements he made.Tiffith told Billboard that both recent signees, New Jersey songstress SZA and Chattanooga, Tennessee rapper Isaiah Rashad are expected to release debut label albums this year. Ab Soul and Jay Rock are also expected to drop LPs. Perhaps the biggest news that came from the interview however was the announcement of what is supposed to happen this September–the release of Kendrick Lamar's sophomore studio album.(hiphopdx.com)
Okay...right now, we can only wait and see what happens in the next couple of months.

Eminem Speaks On 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2'
I am a big Eminem fan, and for years, me and a friend of mine would argue which of his albums was the best. I always believed it was 'The Marshall Mathers LP' (2000), and my friend believed it was 'The Eminem Show' (2002). I still believe it is 'The Marshall Mathers LP', and so does Eminem. That is why he decided to make a sequel to the album. My prayer is that he comes to close to what he made with the first one. Right now, with the three singles I have heard (Survival, Berzerk, and Rap god), I don't know what to think.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Eminem details how hard he has had to work on this album.
The album is due out on November 5th...that is about 2 weeks from now. I'm guessing it will leak any moment from now, and the Internet world can get a feel of the entire album before it hits shelves worldwide. There is no debate whether or not it will sell. Eminem is in a lane of his own when it comes to album sales, and even if he farted on a record, he would still sell. What I am concerned about is the quality of the album. Being a fan (and staying a fan) since when he hit the scene in 1999, I know what he is capable of doing, I am just hoping he doesn't disappoint me.

"Right now, I'm probably working harder than I've ever worked in my life. Aside from around the time of The Eminem Show, when I was also doing the 8 Mile movie and soundtrack and score and sh*t like that. This is probably the equivalent of that, but all focused on the record. Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations. I wouldn't want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs - and just when you think you got it, you listen and you're like, 'F*ck, man! I feel like it needs this or that,' to paint the whole picture." (Rolling Stone)

Wale's 'The Gifted' Album Tracklist And Cover Art
Wale's third album, The Gifted is set for a next month release...June 25th to be precise. The lead single of the album, Bad, which features Tiara Thomas has been at the number one position on the Billboard Chart's "R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay" category for several weeks. This will definitely be a big release for Rick Ross's MMG Label when it drops in June. Wale's last album, Ambition (2011) did good commercially, selling over 500,000 copies in the U.S.
