They are calling this a mixtape, but, I have heard it, and it sure is album quality. Plus it is selling on iTunes. Wiz Khalifa dropped his DJ Drama hosted mixtape, 28 Grams yesterday, and the whole Internet world went into a frenzy. Some love it, some hate it, and that seem to have given it the right amount of publicity to get downloaded almost half a million times in the last 24 hours. That's right. It is up for free download at Datpiff, and it has been downloaded 412,551, as of right now.

Slaughterhouse- House Rules (Mixtape)

Hip Hop super-group, have finally dropped their new mixtape (House Rules). They always drop a free mixtape for the fans before they drop their albums, and this time it is a ten tracker, titled House Rules. Their studio album is set to drop before the end of the year, and is titled Glass House. Royce Da 5'9, Joe Budden, Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz showed the world what they were made of on SayDatThen, which was the first leak off the mixtape a couple of weeks ago. I am sure the rest of the mixtape would be as dope. I am off to download it right now. The mixtape hit the Internet about 2 hours ago, and it has already has 15,000 downloads from Datpiff.

New Music: Say Dat Then (Slaughterhouse)

Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5'9, and Joe Budden, collective known as Slaughterhouse dropped a new jam for their fans today. The song is titled Say Dat Then, and it is from their upcoming House Gang mixtape. Watch out for that in a couple of days. On this particular track, Royce and Joe Budden killed it.

MMG's Fat Trel Releases 'Gleesh' Mixtape (Stream and Download Link)

Washington DC's Fat Trel signed to Rick Ross's MMG last year November, and this is going to be his first offering since he joined the crew. The mixtape, Gleesh, dropped yesterday for free download, and has already been downloaded 19,000 times on Datpiff. Nice play on the Glee cover. Personally, I think this should have been an EP, not a mixtape. I might not like what he raps about, but the production and his delivery on the album are on point.

DJ Envy Recalls Nas Pulling a Gun on Him

Ace DJ, and On Air Personality at Power 105.1, DJ Envy recently spoke on a past incidence where he was trying to market his mixtape to Nas, but Nas mistook him for a stick up kid and pulled a gun on him.

“This was when mixtapes was big. And I was—And this was when nobody would take my mixtapes. I mean, I was trying to sell mixtapes to everybody. And at the time Clue was popping and all they wanted was Clue. So, I remember coming out the Coliseum and I seen Nas and I think it was a Lexus. So, I seen him I was like, ‘Oh shit, that’s Nas.’ So, now I got my mixtapes and I’m running up the block. I’m like ‘This is Nas. I’m in Queens. You don’t see this. This is Nas.’ It’s me and my mans with me and I’m like ‘Yo Nas, hold up. I got something for you.’ So Nas, he stops and he looks at me and he tells the girls to get in the car. He says ‘What you got for me?’ I go in my bag and when I come up [from] my bag, Nas has a gun on me,” DJ Envy said. “‘What the fuck you got for me? What you mean you got something for me?’ I’m sitting there like—I dropped my bag and everything. I’m like, ‘A mixtape. It’s just a mixtape. I swear, it’s just a mixtape. Look, look, look. Mixtape, mixtape.’ And Nas gave me the look…He did one of these ‘Yo, you know shit is real out here, man. You don’t come up to nobody and say ‘you got something for me,’ man. Gimme that mixtape.’ He took the mixtape, put the gun back in his pants, went in his car, and drove off.’ And after that I’ve never approached another artist with, ‘I got something for you.’ Never again.”

Joey Bada$$ Wants $3 Million Or Nothing

Young New York rap sensation, Joey Bada$$ let the world know that it will take $3 million for him to sign with any major labels. He had meetings with Jay-Z late last year, and people thought he would sign with Roc Nation. Apparently, the offer on the table wasn't mouth-watering enough for Bada$$. $3 million is a lot for a rapper that doesn't have a huge buzz in the mainstream. Of cos he has a crazy buzz amongst people that listen to raw hip hop, but the unfortunate thing about that is that, apart from the fact that that market is not big enough, those people don't buy albums, they illegally download them.




During a recent interview, Joey Bada$$ was asked how much it would take for him to sign with a major label, and he said- "Three million [dollars]. Off the top. Hell yeah. [It would] get my Mom out the hood."

YMCMB Head Honcho, Birdman just dropped a new mixtape titled "Rich Gang: All Stars." It basically comprises of tracks from most artists signed under his YMCMB (Young Money Cash Money Billionaires) umbrella. You know he has one crazy long list of rappers signed to that label. Jadakiss "Consignment" Mixtape Tracklist

Jadakiss is still keeping his fans waiting on dropping his 4th album, which is to be titled Top 5 Dead Or Alive. Since he coined that saying, he has the rights to name his album that. Plus the fact that he surely could be considered Top 5 Dead or Alive in Hip Hop history. To whet the appetite of his fans, he has decided to drop a mixtape titled Consignment which drops this Friday- April 27. And, as he said, this not going to be like the regular mixtape where you have rappers rapping over popular beats; this is going to be in the style of Rick Ross's Mixtape, Rich Forever where all the beats are fresh, and the tracks are album standard. He is and always will be in my top 5 favourite rappers of all time, so i wish him all the best with his new project. Check out the tracklist of his Consignment mixtape below-

Okay, i think the only problem i have with this tracklist is that he didn't feature Sheek Louch enough. There is only one sheek louch guest appearance and it is at the tail end. I understand Sheek might be busy promoting the Wu-Block album, and working on his upcoming solo project, but i would have appreciated like 3 or 4 sheek features. I think The Lox (jadakiss, styles p, and sheek louch) is the best rap group ever, and they need to show the new-school rap listeners why they are legendary.


Did you guys notice anything new with jada? He grew his hair out. For the longest time, he has always gone bald. When asked why he allowed it to grow out, he said it was to prove the people that said he couldn't grow his hair that he still could. And for his mom too...saying his mom didn't believe he could grow hair anylonger. His right hand man K Rosewood, who is currently in jail is also one of the reasons why he decided to grow his hair out.

News on Ludacris's 1.21 Gigawatt's Mixtape

Ludacris has been off the scene for a while now, probably lost somewhere in Hollywood. I have said it before, i don't think all these acting he has been doing lately will help his rap career. Hip Hop listeners nowadays have a short attention lifespan, and they would forget you in a minute. It is cool that he is planning to drop something for the streets. He is planning to drop a mixtape titled 1.21 Gigawatt's in November. I think that is cool, cos i have always been a Luda fan, and i am glad he once to switch his focus back to rapping.
