Rick Ross Speaks on Meek Mill's Jail Sentence
A few days ago, MMG rapper, Meek Mill got sentenced to 3-6 months jail time for parole violation. How did he violate, by inciting gangster acts on the Internet, and posting a picture of three women holding firearms on his Instagram. He was sentenced on July 12th, and is already right now in holding. It is so sad cos, he is currently promoting his second album; Dreams Worth More Than Money, which is set to drop before the end of the year. As the Boss at Maybach Music Group (MMG), Rick Ross has released a statement speaking on the recent unfortunate situation of his artist.
"I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported. With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artist, through the good and the bad. Every individual signed to MMG is not just an artist, they are my family. And with family you ride, or you die. Yesterday, my brother, Meek Mill ran into some unfortunate legal issues. It happens. However, his team, our team, will continue to execute Meek's plan as close to schedule as possible. His album is coming. We ask that the fans and the media continue to support him and his music during this time. He'll be home soon. Meek Mill Gives Details on Second Album- Dreams Worth More Than Money
MMG rapper, Meek Mill is currently working on his second album, which would likely drop end of the year, or early 2015. The album is titled Dreams Worth More Than Money, and the confirmed guest appearances off the album are Big Sean, and A$AP Ferg. During his interview with Miss Info last night before the BET Awards, Meek Mill gave some info on his sophomore release.
“Alright, let me tell you real details. Meek Mill is on a whole other level. I don’t like to talk from my perspective, ‘cause everybody gon’ say, ‘My next project hot, this is my best project.’ I’m 27 now, my last project I was 25. And really, I was kind of caught up. I just started making millions of dollars. Rap wasn’t like my main focus, I was focused on getting my family out the streets and having a lot of money. You know, I accomplished part of that and now it’s fully back to being fully an artist. I got me,Big Sean, A$AP Ferg shooting a video Monday, something off the album. Me and Big Sean did the ‘Burn,’ you know how that was. It was a lyrical attack. Me and him going back and forth, having fun. It’s kind of the same thing, it ain’t even no hook on it. It’s me, him, and Ferg. Ferg is sounding like you never heard Ferg sound...It’s called ‘B-Boy.’ Then, it got like a transition into it, me and Pharrell working on something.”
It's good to see he is excited about the album. And it is also good that he wants to focus more on his craft as an artist now, and not on money. Further along in the interview, he also spoke on a Nas collaboration he is planning for this album. He had one (Maybach Curtains) from his last album already and is thinking of getting another Nas collab? Hmm!
Speaking on songs he is working on off the album, he detailed a song he is trying to get Nas on.
“I got one that’s a true Hip Hop song that I’m putting Nas on. It’s true Hip Hop. Lyricism. It’s Nas on it. I think it’s a sampled beat that sounds sort of like Scarface when you think of the movie. I’m waiting to get Nas in the studio any day. When he get in the studio I know he gon’ love it, Nas ain’t gon jump on it if he don’t love it.”

Meek Mill Details the Advise That Jay Z Gave Him
Meek Mil, like Wale is on MMG, but is also signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation Management. He is currently working on his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, and he has detailed the advise he received from Jay Z concerning work on the album. Below are his words on this from a recent interview with 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club interview.
“I had a conversation with Hov. He like ‘You got to spit. Always do you. Just pick bigger beats sometimes. You know what I’m saying? Don’t always think trap beat. Don’t think super Hip Hop beat. Think bigger sometimes’…I be trying to go for the kill. I was tryna get like Rihanna or one of them on my single. I was trying to give up like 200 cash. Couldn’t really get in touch with her. So, I ran with Paloma.”
During the course of the interview, he also spoke on the sound to expect from his upcoming album, Dreams Worth More Than Money.
“It’s more contained now. You know what I’m saying? I’m still screaming loud on a lot of my tracks. I got that contained flow now when I’m talking to ‘em. More like you can hear everything more. You can—It’s more clearer. You know how I was always fast rapping. Super-fast flow. Everything is more—It’s growth to my music. And I can feel it myself. Like when you listen to your music.”
Thank God Jay Z gave him that advise, and I hope he would follow suit. It is almost like he uses the same beat and the same flow on all his songs. He needs to switch his flow every now and then on different songs, and not just make the same type of music with the same type of energy every single DAMN TIME!

Meek Mill Putting Nas and Jay Z on the Same Song
For a couple of months now, Meek Mill has been promoting his upcoming sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, and the latest from it is info on a track which would feature Jay Z and Nas. The song is said to be titled Scarface, and there would also be another version of the same song which features Jay Z and Nipsey Hustle.

On his Instagram, he previewed his new track "Scarface" which is said to have two versions. One version includes the legendary titans Jay Z and Nas, while the other version is said to feature Jay and Nipsey. More than likely, all three will possibly have their verses merged to form one super track. (XXL Mag)
