"Bad Meets Evil" First Week Sales Prediction

Bad Meets Evil, the EP collabo from Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 will hit stores tomorrow, June 14, and i want to make my own predictions on what it would sell after a week out. There are some websites that get the daily sales of album directly from "Soundscan", and they usually go ahead to use the first day sales to predict what it would sell in a week, but i am not going to do that. I basically want to use my experience, from years and years of watching how albums do, commercially.

So, if you ask me, i would say the EP would sell between 80,000-170,000. I live room for plus or minus, but it cannot be far from that range. Why? I am sure you would ask me. First of all, eminem is a high seller, and this EP is almost a masterpiece. You see i said almost. It is made up of 9 tracks, and the intro would just blow you away, but there are some weak songs in there...maybe like 3. But the rest are just fantastic. I mean, eminem and royce go back to back like they have always been in a group together or something.

This prediction numbers is what a hot album would sell at this moment in hiphop, and this is just an EP, but you know Eminem is in a league of his own. The first week sales of his last album, Recovery was over 700k first week, but EP's don't sell as much as albums, and collabo projects even sell lower, that is why i put it that lower than a normal first week opening for an eminem album.

So, let us watch and see if i am right or wrong. But, i would say that it might sell more than that if they dropped a video for one of the tracks on the album. But that hasn't happened yet, and the EP drops tomorrow, so my prediction is still on point. But, it would eventually sell a lot of copies if they can drop a video for the track they did with Bruno Mars- Lighters. It might eventually make it to about 800k-1,000,000 copies over all sales.

  1. Did you forget about the Re-Up album? That album was nothing But collabs, and it wasn't even announced or Promoted...It just showed up on shelves..And that managed to make over 300,00 in its first week.
I would guess that Bad meets Evil gets atleast 450,000 its first week.
You may have forgotten about the Millions of devoted fans Em - still has..

  2. Yeah, i know that, but as i said, collabo projects don't do as well as solo's. You can go back to when he did the album with D12; at that time, his albums were selling a million a week, but he sold only 300k first week with devil's night did just 372k first week. I still stand on my predictions. I don't think the sales can be up to 450k, although i have left some space for plus's...i would say the tops is 200k. Let's wait and see. Just keep checking back here. And yeah, hitsdailydouble.com is going to throw out their own prediction later today or tomorrow, from first day sales predictions, so you can check back for an update on that too.

Thanks for the comment, i appreciate it.

  3. Oh! Sorry, i went back and read your comment again, and found out i had missed something. Yeah, re-up was nothing but collabo's, but don't forget that re-up had a video to one of the singles, and it had some marketing. And it was at a time people were really expecting em to drop a new album...so, technically, must of his fans took it as an em album. Re-up sold 309, 000 copies first week...it was a studio album, with all the marketing, and that song featuring 50cent, lloyd banks and cashisc(you don't know) was hot, and the video was hot too, so you can't compare it with bad meets evil.

  5. I see your point - but I have to disagree. Em has been promoting this new Album for over a month now. Including Live Performances and Interviews. It first showed up all over Twitter, and of course his website.
YouTube has a couple million hits on thier Collab track called "fast Lane"...And that has an Entire Video @ Studio Quality.
Further - On YouTube alone, you'll see the Endless posts of Fans mentioning how theyve already Pre-Ordered this album on itunes and other Similar types of Posts from many other Forums.
Don't get me wrong, Im not trying to Overcompensate for Eminem..Im just stating the White Boy has an Enormous following of Fans, and Collab or not - this Album is going will Probably Suprise you.
Not to mention, its actually pretty decent.

  8. @brportland, i check hitsdailydouble.com and didn't find any predictions. Are you sure of what you said about them predicting upward of 700, or you got that info from somewhere else? It is almost impossible for him to sell that much. I still stand on my predictions.

  9. hitsdailydouble.com
At the Bottem Right, in Green - where it says "Upcoming Releases" once you click on that - select the Date 6/14/2011, and theres the first week Sales prediction.

Im not 100% convinced that it will do quite that well - But again, its going to be the top selling album coming out during that Lineup.

  10. Also - you say its amost impossible for Eminem to sell that much, His Recovery Album sold over 750,000 the first week, and was the highest selling album for that line up as well.
Hate to sound like a Broken Record, but its unbeliveable how many people out there Will buy Eminem albums. Its more than just music for some, hes an inspiration.

  11. That's because Recovery was a full length album, with lots of promotion. The lead single, Not Afraid was playing every 30 minutes on every radio station. You can't compare that with this EP. Ofcos i know em sells incredible numbers, and you can't really be so sure when it comes to em, but even if there is going to be a surprise, it would be in the range of 300-400, not up to 700k.

  12. Okay, i just got off hitsdailydouble.com, and what you saw was the figures for the first week sales of his last studio album, recovery. Go ahead and check it, you will see last major release at the top, then a date, followed by 742,000, which is what recovery sold.

Guess all we can do is wait...

  15. Ok - One last thing . . Have u gotten the chance to hear the album yet?
Collab or not, this album is hot. Collab or not, Royce and Em make this album...May as well be considered an Eminem Album, and Royce being the Perfect mix. With the exception of "Lighters" basically all tracks are worth buying. I especially like how Royce and Em play off of each other from line to line. I'd even go as far as to say this is a potential classic...that is if ur a Royce fan ??

  16. I disagree- lighters is one of the hottest songs on that album, but my guess is that you dont like the fact that bruno mars is on it. Look past that, and you would recognise that the way eminem and royce deliver on that track is super dope. Wellcome to hell, fast lane and lighters are the best tracks on the album. I think my pick for d worst song would be loud noises. I think the album is cool, and d way em and royce go back to back is fantastic, but there are a few songs that make it not classic material. I am an eminem fan, just as much as I am a royce fan.
