Nicki Minaj on Cover of Dazed Magazine

Rappers always use their star power to generate money from various sources, and Nicki Minaj has milked every opportunity to make her extra dough for the past 5 years since she hit the scene. She has really done a lot of herself in such a short time. Her next money-maker is her contract with Dazed magazine, to appear on two separate covers of their magazines...and also have extra shots for spreads inside the Magazine proper.

Jeezy Speaks on Controversial Album Cover for 'Seen It All'

Jeezy's fifth album, Seen It All is scheduled for a September 2nd release date, and the album cover-art just hit the Internet. It has people shouting ILLUMINATI because of the all-seeing-eye (which is the supposed logo of the secret society that everyone seems to know so much about). Jeezy has come forward to set things straight. 














During his recent interview Power 99 Philly radio station, he was asked about the Illuminati-themed album cover, and he said...

“I mean, I wanted to do a crest. I kind of was getting some of the feedback, the Illuminati. Let me say this first and foremost, do not get art and creativity confused with ignorance. I am a hard-working, God-fearing man. I have no idea what an Illuminati is and really don’t give a damn. It has nothing to do with me. I just wanted to do something different and something bigger. That was just my vision. It’s kind of a dark album, so I just wanted to have that kind of mystique about it. Something you wanted to keep as a collector’s edition. Even when Pac—not to compare—but when Pac did Makaveli and he put himself on that cross, that’s how he felt. He felt like it was him against the world, him against all odds. He put himself in that mind state. That’s just how I feel. I feel like I’m bigger than the music. I feel like I’m a leader. I can do that. I don’t wanna stand in front of a Lamborghini and give you another picture of me [with] five chains on. That’s wack for me. I’m nine years in the game, ten years in the game, I’m trying to push the envelope a little bit. But I’ll tell you this, the album cover is whatever, but when you open that album and play that album then we ain’t gon’ have this conversation. That music is A-1, you heard me? All that.”

Nice explanation, but Jeezy obviously wanted something to get people talking about his album, and it is working. Controversy always sells. 

Nicki Minaj Apologizes For Controversial 'Lookin As Nigga' Cover-Art

Apparently Nicki Minaj released a single on Wednesday that had Malcom X on the cover, and it has gotten a lot of negative responses from the public. The song, 'Lookin As Niggas' is all about how worthless niggas (black men) can be, and people feel it is very inappropriate to have Malcom X on the cover of a song like that. Malcom X fought for the upliftment of the black man, and that is in no way related to what Nicki portrayed in the song. Anyway, she has apologized for the controversial cover

Below is the apology, which can be found on her Instagram page-

“What seems to be the issue now? Do you have a problem with me referring to the people Malcolm X was ready to pull his gun out on as Lookin Ass Niggaz? Well, I apologize. That was never the official artwork nor is this an official single. This is a conversation. Not a single. I am in the video shooting at Lookin Ass Niggaz and there happened to be an iconic photo of Malcolm X ready to do the same thing for what he believed in!!!! It is in no way to undermine his efforts and legacy. I apologize to the Malcolm X estate if the meaning of the photo was misconstrued. The word “nigga” causes so much debate in our community while the “nigga” behavior gets praised and worship. Let’s not. Apologies again to his family. I have nothing but respect an adoration for u. The photo was removed hours ago. Thank you,” 



Personally, I think she should have known better. There is no correlation with what she raps about and what Malcom X stood for. Why do this to yourself? Unless this was done for cheap publicity, I think she should have been wiser than that. It just might be for publicity, cos, no offence, but I wasn't checking for the song till everybody started talking about the cover on twitter, and I decided to download and listen to the song.

Nicki Minaj covers Elle Magazine's latest edition, and the buzz around the cover is that she was without her wigs and overload on make-up. She looks plain, yet still very beautiful. Well, I might not like all her music, but I do recognize beauty and like to celebrate it...so, check out the pics from the Magazine below-
