Spike Lee Shooting Eminem's 'Headlights' Video
Hmm! This will be interesting. Eminem has let the world know that the legendary movie maker, Spike Lee will be lending a hand to the shooting of the next video from his The Marshall Mathers LP 2 album, Headlights. I guess it wont be your every day hip hop video; it sure will have some story behind it...some creativity. This is really cool. By the way, the album has already sold over two million copies in America, and three million worldwide.
Eminem put the picture below of him and Spike Lee on his Instagram yesterday, and it had this caption- "Spike came out to The D for the 'Headlights' video...Coming soon."
Looking at that picture, I wondering what's up with Eminem's face. Maybe he hasn't been sleeping well or something. Or could it be old age? He is just 41

Eminem' 'The Marhsall Mathers LP 2' at 3.6 Million Sold Worldwide
Eminem's 7th album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 sold 52,000 copies this week globally, and is now at a worldwide total of 3,600,000 copies sold. Eminem is definitely a cash cow right now...even the prequel of the album, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) is still selling...that album has so far, since it was released in year 2000, sold 11 million copies in America, and over 20 million copies worldwide.
Please note that the numbers above represent what the album has sold worldwide- in America alone, the album is still at 1,891,000 sold total.

Eminem's 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' at 3.5 Million Copies Sold Worldwide
Yea, Eminem keeps winning. He has always been in a lane of his own, and he still is. One of the few rappers (if not the only one) that can still sell over 2 million copies of his album. He doesn't need no surprise dates, or no deals with electronic companies to boost his sales...he just drops, and the whole world stops to listen. His 7th studio album, The Marshall Marthers LP 2 has sold a total of 3.5 million copies to date worldwide, and it is still selling.
This sales numbers should not be confused with national sales; in America, the album is at a total of 1,850,000 sold, and would hit double platinum status very soon. But globally, the album sold 70,000 this week to put it at a global total of 3,500,000 sold.

Machine Gun Kelly Says He is Scared to Listen to Eminem's 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2'
Bad Boy artist, and first white rapper signed to the label, Machine Gun Kelly recently said the reason he hasn't given Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 a listen is because he is scared of the album disappointing him. I understand his predicament. I am an Eminem fan too, and was scared to listen to the album cos I didn't want to be let down.
Below are his words concerning the album...
“I’m still scared to listen to it. I’m scared to listen to it ‘cause that’s my idol. That’s my idol, I feel like he’s said all he has to say. Of course I’m gonna love anything he does, I would hope people would be the same with me. Have I listened to it? No. Am I scared to listen to it? Yes. Do I want to listen to it? Dude, I wanted to listen to it the second I even heard he was recording it. I’m scared to make that step, ‘cause I don’t ever wanna look at my idol like, ‘Uhhh.’ I hear so many different things, but fuck people’s opinions I’ll make my own. I’l listen to it when I get off tour.” (Interview on Montreality).
What can I say...Eminem still has the skills, but it is just hard to think that a 41 year old rapper would still be rapping the same way he was when he was 26. I guess that's my only problem with Eminem. He is making farting sounds on skits, jumping around in videos...I don't know, it just doesn't go well with me. I still loved him on serious songs like Legacy, and Headlights; and on creative songs like Bad Guy and Brainless. I guess I wish he would be a little bit more serious on his albums.

Eminem's 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' Goes Double Platinum Globally
Yea, trust Eminem to sell astronautical numbers with his albums. His 7th album, 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' sold 315,000 copies globally this week, and it is now a 4 week total of 2,216,000; that is double platinum status attained worldwide.
Please note that the numbers above represent the album's global sales. In domestic sales, it sold 199,000 copies 4th week in the U.S, and is at a total of 1,323,000 copies sold domestically. It definitely will still attain double platinum status nationally soon, and probably go on to be quadruple platinum like his last album, Recovery (2010).

Official First Week Sales of Eminem's 'Marshall Mathers LP 2'
It has done a full week in stores, and Eminem's 7th studio album, 'The Marshall Mathers LP2' sold 793,000 copies first week. Impressive. Last week, I predicted it would sell between 800-950k first week, so I am not too far off. Looking at the structures of most of the songs on this album, I think he is going to sell about 5 million copies in the end. He has a lot of radio friendly songs on the album, and once he starts shooting videos for them, the album would keep selling hundreds of thousands weekly for the next couple of months.
He has just two videos from the album (one was meant to promote a video game), but four songs from the album are already in the top 20 songs on Billboard Hot 100 Chart. By the time he shoots the video for The Monster (feat Rihanna), it will be over for all competition. People would say he went too pop for this album, but can we deny the fact that he is rapping his ass off on every song on the album. Like he said on 'Rap god'- "'Oh, he's too mainstream', well, that's what they do when they get jealous, they confuse it. 'it's not hip hop, it's pop.' Cos I found a hella way to fuse it.'

When the first two singles from this album dropped, I didn't know what to think of it. I mean quality-wise, cos Eminem is going to sell regardless. But after getting the leaked version of the album, I have to say Eminem has still got it. This is a mix of The Slim Shady LP (1999) and The Marshall Mathers LP (2000). I wont say it is up there with the latter, but it is a pretty dope album...very creative album. I love that he brought back story telling on here; which is reminiscent of his first two albums. Eminem has a lot of radio friendly songs on it, and there are going to do pretty good on radio. I predict this album would sell between 800-950k first week.

Eminem Speaks On 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2'
I am a big Eminem fan, and for years, me and a friend of mine would argue which of his albums was the best. I always believed it was 'The Marshall Mathers LP' (2000), and my friend believed it was 'The Eminem Show' (2002). I still believe it is 'The Marshall Mathers LP', and so does Eminem. That is why he decided to make a sequel to the album. My prayer is that he comes to close to what he made with the first one. Right now, with the three singles I have heard (Survival, Berzerk, and Rap god), I don't know what to think.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Eminem details how hard he has had to work on this album.
The album is due out on November 5th...that is about 2 weeks from now. I'm guessing it will leak any moment from now, and the Internet world can get a feel of the entire album before it hits shelves worldwide. There is no debate whether or not it will sell. Eminem is in a lane of his own when it comes to album sales, and even if he farted on a record, he would still sell. What I am concerned about is the quality of the album. Being a fan (and staying a fan) since when he hit the scene in 1999, I know what he is capable of doing, I am just hoping he doesn't disappoint me.

Aside from around the time of The Eminem Show, when I was also doing the 8 Mile movie and soundtrack and score and sh*t like that. I wouldn't want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs - and just when you think you got it, you listen and you're like, 'F*ck, man! I don't know what to think of this tracklist. First of all, I am super big fan of Marshall Mathers LP (2000), and I believe that is his best album to date. And for him to try to make a sequel to it, he has to deliver top-notch. I saw 'Survival' on the tracklist, and I am thinking- 'ain't that a soundtrack for a video game or so?' If you plan to make another masterpiece, you don't throw in a song you made for a game company. I just hope he has some germs on there, and not just naming it Marshall Mathers LP 2 just to make people check for it, cos they would believe he is as great as he was when he made the first one. It's like the record execs have more control over Eminem's decisions these days. This tracklist proves it- doing a songs with Nate Ruess, Rihanna, and Skylar Grey is a formula to capture the pop market, and then having a songs with the hottest new rapper out (kendrick Lamar) is to get the attention of the Hip Hop audience.

Eminem is set to drop his 8th album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 on November 5th. It is going to be the sequel to his third album, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000). Personally, I have always believed Marshall Mathers LP is Eminem's best album, so I was really excited when I heard his next album was going to be the sequel to it. But, my problem is now about whether or not Eminem can create another classic like Marshall Mathers LP. The first single off the album, Bezerk dropped yesterday, and has already been viewed 3 million times on Youtube. It is very different, and I kinda like it. It is the normal style Eminem uses (apart from Recovery), where he has a very goofy first single, then the other singles that drop off the album are more serious.
