rap is hip hop: First Week Sales Prediction of DMX's "Undisputed" Album

DMX once released two albums in one year (It's Dark and Hell Is Hot & Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood- both in 1998) back in the 90s, and they both went multi-platinum. But, even the hard-core DMX fans have to admit that those days are gone. I heard a couple of tracks from his latest album, Undisputed which dropped yesterday (Sept 11), and I have to admit that I was surprised at how good they sounded. But, he has been away for far too long. His last album- Year of The Dog...Again- was released August of 2006, and it sold 125,000 first week. I would put this latest album at 50-80k first week.

His publicist, last week let the world know that the proceeds from the first week sales will go to the families of those affected by the 9/11 bombing 11 years ago.

50-80k in this sales climate?? That's a very very long shot! 15-20k would be a realistic first week sales target for a man who's been out of the music scene for such a long time.

lol! maybe 30k...0r 35k, but I think it will sell more than 15k. I just put that range up in case a miracle happens, and all his old fans support him the album to the fullest.

Yea...that's a point. Infact, from my further analysis, i think this album might sell lower earlier predicted...maybe 10-18k first week.

I just picked up the CD and its fire X is gonna surprise alot of kats with this who thinks he not relevant in the game It's a breath of fresh air from BS out here now eveeyone saying the s****!

I give undisputed 3 out of 5 stars... The tracklist needs to be switched around a bit thats all... But the album is solid... Nice and personal! Should sell at least 80k...the first week..

The album has official done a full week in stores, and it sold 17k copies...i guess i was wrong, and the first guy to comment on this post was right. I guess i let my being a fan of his music disrupt my analytical skills.
