Schoolboy Q's Car Collection
TDE rapper Schoolboy Q may not be one of the richest rappers out there, but he is definitely getting caked up from the looks of his car collection. The California rapper owns a white McLaren MP4-12C ($200,000), a black Maybach 57 ($400,000), a white Mercedes Benz AMG G63 ($150,000), and a white Porsche 911 Turbo ($160,000).

This is the latest video off Jay Rock's 90059 album (which drops later today), which drops later today. The title of the video is Vice City, and it is Jay Rock with the rest of his Black Hippy crew- Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul. I like the creativity in the video.

Ever-since the bubble bust with Drake using a ghostwriter (Quentin Miller) for most of his rap verses, a lot of talk has been going on in the Hip Hop world on how many rappers actually use ghostwriters that the world might not know about. In a recent interview session with The Breakfast Club crew on Hot 97 Radio (in New York), TDE member, Jay Rock was asked by Charlamagne Tha God if any ghostwriting goes on at the TDE camp, and he answered with...
"You talking about some Quentin Miller thing? Nah! I mean, the thing about how we rock, men, we in the studio, it's all about good vibes, men! It's not like (he writes on an imaginary pad) doing this, 'oh, here.' Nah! It's all about vibe...We all pitch in. It's a vibe men! That's the way...That's the way you make good music. Wiz Khlaifa just dropped the long awaited official remix of We Dem Boyz, which features Rick Ross, ScHoolboy Q, and Nas. I'm guessing this song will be on Nas's Mass Appeal Compilation album, which is due out in September.Q really did his thing on this one. Dope song overall.

Ab-Soul Speaks on Being Signed To TDE Only
Through the late 2000s, and part of the early 2010s, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul were doing their thing on a small scale with TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment). Then Dr. Dre came along and snagged up Kendrick Lamar. Of cos Kendrick remained signed to TDE, but he was now also signed to Dre's Aftermath Entertainment, and Jimmy Iovine's Interscope Records. Then, ScHoolboy Q dropped his album earlier this year, and it had an Interscope logo on it, and people believed that maybe all four of the major rappers on TDE had signed an Interscope deal. But, Soulo has come to set the record straight.
During his recent interview with Complex, he was asked about his label situation, and he said...
“T.D.E. only. I was never signed to Interscope. Very important to know. If one of us are there we’re family. Kendrick went over to Aftermath / Interscope, Q went over to Interscope. So, it’s just us trying out with the larger brands. Branching off...It’s all strategy but at the same time, was Death Row an independent label? Are we calling it the right thing really? What are we doing? What are we trying to do here?"

Smart move by Top Dawg (TDE C.E.O). He signed off two of his artists to major labels, and they (Kendrick, and ScHoolboy Q) enjoyed the big budget of the major label (Insterscope). And it has equally helped the TDE brand grow. So, now, Ab-Soul who is only signed to TDE, would enjoy the buzz Kendrick and ScHoolboy Q have created. Ab-Soul might not sell as much as those two, but even if he sells about 50k first week, he would bring in more money for Top Dawg than Q and Kendrick selling over 100k first week.
New Music: Melt (Mac Miller feat. ScHoolboy Q)
To celebrate the one year Anniversary of his album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, Mac Miller released two unreleased songs from the album's recording session. This one, Melt, was produced by the legendary Pete Rock, and it features ScHoolboy Q. I can't believe it has been a year since that album. ScHoolboy Q Not Happy With Oxymoron Reviews
ScHoolboy Q released his third album (first major label album) in February, and it has done moderately well in the sales department, moving over a quarter of a million copies to date. But, Schoolboy Q seems not so happy with the reviews the album got when it dropped four months ago. In a recent interview with ACCLAIM, he voiced his frustrations on the matter.
"I spent a fucking year putting together Oxymoron, and these reviewers have figured it all out and made up their minds about it the day after it was released? Come on, man. I poured my heart and soul into this thing. You can’t tell me you absorbed it all after one or two listens."
Personally, I like his delivery/flow on most of the songs off the album, but the lyrics didn't really do it for me. So, maybe that's the same problem most of the individuals and corporations that reviewed his album felt too.

ScHoolboy Q Speaks On How He Was Able to Quit Smoking Weed
I watched an interview once where ScHoolboy Q was speaking on spending an outrageous amount on weed, like a thousand dollars on weed a week or something like that. But in recent times, he has been talking about quitting weed. In a recent interview with Rap Up, he said he was able to do it while he was touring in Europe recently, as he claims their weed is no good over there.

ScHoolboy Q dropped his major label debut album earlier this year, and Oxymoron landed at the number one spot on Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart, with 139,000 copies sold first week. With the album still selling a couple of thousands of copies every week, Q ain't waiting around. In a recent Rap Up interview, he spoke on already sketching out two follow-up albums.
"I got two of my next albums titled and concepts of how I wanna attack and how I wanna put certain things to the light. The subject matter will be just as personal as Oxymoron. I haven't even talked about my mom yet. I left that out my album for other albums. I never talked about my father. Just saving certain things for different albums and concepts."
Well, I hope it comes to fruition, cos rappers be speaking out their ass sometimes. Or they might even be serious, and then lose the momentum after a couple of months. Plus TDE has to drop Ab Soul's album, Jay Rock's album, and then Kendrick's second album, before they come around to another ScHoolboy Q album. Let's see how things go in the next couple of months.

Schoolboy Says He Regrets Signing With Interscope
In a recent interview with hot937.cbslocal.com, Schoolboy Q said he regrets getting on Interscope Records. Well, he didn't sign directly, but TDE signed with Interscope Records in 2012. This is how it went...Dr. Dre is under Interscope with his Aftermath Entertainment; he saw Kendrick Lamar in 2012, and wanted to sign him quickly to Aftermath. But Kendrick was already signed to an independent label called TDE. So, Dre struck a deal with Top Dawg (TDE C.E.O). He would have Kendrick under his Aftermath umbrella, and also secure a deal for TDE to be signed directly under Interscope Records. So, Kendrick is signed to TDE/Aftermath/Interscope, and other rappers like Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul are signed to TDE/Interscope. But Schoolboy Q wishes they had stayed independent...maybe cos of the amount of middle men now in the business side of things.
“I already did wrong by signing a rap contract. I’m not talking about TDE, but how we ventured off with the majors. I wish we would have still stayed indie. I don’t care about being on like 100 radios or shit like that. I love Interscope, but I wish I could have just stayed with TDE.”

Schoolboy Q's 'Oxymoron' Streamed 3.3 Million Times on Spotify in First Week of Release
Yup! Although it sold 139,000 copies first week, Oxymoron was streamed 3.3 million times on Spotify in its first week of release. If only all those translated to sales...or even a quarter, he would have made a big entrance into the game with his major label debut. But it's all good...it is good to know that 3.3 million people took time to stream (listen to) the album.

TDE artist, Schoolboy Q dropped his major debut album, Oxymoron last week Tuesday. And after a full week in stores, the album sold 157,000 copies globally. It sold 139,000 copies in America alone, and the remaining 18,000 copies was sold in other countries in the world.

Numbers are in, and after a full week in stores, Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron sold 139,000 copies. This is great for Q. The album is also the number one album on Billboard's Top 200 Album's Chart this week. This is his third album, but the other two were Independently released. So, we can call this his official major label debut album. Congrats to him for pulling in these numbers.

After Schooboy Q's Oxymoron album tracklist hit the Internet, a lot of his fans and some Hip Hop listeners felt he shouldn't have worked with 2 Chainz for his album. They feel 2 Chainz is not a real Hip Hop artist, and they feel a TDE artist shouldn't be working with him. Below is what Schoolboy Q had to say about that.
“I like 2 Chainz. People been hitting me and asking me, like tweets… like, ‘Oh, why are you messing with 2 Chainz? This is TDE. That’s not real Hip Hop.’ What do you mean that’s not real Hip Hop? When I go buy the album, it says Rap and Hip Hop. I listen to it, I like it. If you don’t like it, skip his verse. I like 2 Chainz. I think he real.”

Schoolboy Q Speaks on Crazy Demands From Fans
It has always been that rapper's fans always feel they know the direction the rapper should go...'Why can't Rapper 'X' keep rapping the way he was rapping on his first album?' 'Why did he shoot that video for that song instead of that other song.' Blah! Blah! In a recent interview on Power 106's 'Big Boy's Neighborhood' show, Schoolboy Q spoke on some crazy demands from some of his fans.
“A fan thinks he knows more than you! Like ‘Q, you need to go back to the old Q! The Q that didn’t get a deal, the Q that didn’t go on tour! Q, you shouldn’t hang with 2 Chainz because he’s this, that, he older than you, he from …’ Like, what the hell are you talking about?”
Haha! I am not a rapper, but I also get tired of all the crazy expectations from some fans. They want Nas to make another Illmatic, they want Jay Z to keep rapping like how he was rapping in the 90s...They want Hip Hop to remain underground, and forget that these rappers have families to feed, and a personal life to live. Really, who would want to remain in the same spot all his life.
