Official First Week Sales of Mac Miller's The Divine Feminine Album

Mac Miller dropped his fourth album, The Divine Feminine last week Friday, and after a full week in stores, it sold (streams plus physical copies sales) 49,247 copies. Well, that's not so bad, even though his three previous albums sold more than this in their first week of release.

Mac Miller Speaks on His Realtionship with Ariana Grande

It was like a rumor at first, but Mac Miller confirmed it on his interview on Power 105.1 interview with the Breakfast Club crew yesterday. In deed, he is dating Ariana Grande, and he even admitted that part of his new album, The Divine Feminine was inspired by the love experience between him and Ariana.

New Music: Melt (Mac Miller feat. ScHoolboy Q)

To celebrate the one year Anniversary of his album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, Mac Miller released two unreleased songs from the album's recording session. This one, Melt, was produced by the legendary Pete Rock, and it features ScHoolboy Q. I can't believe it has been a year since that album. I remember it was released on the same day as J Cole's Born Sinner, and Kanye West's Yeezus album.

New Music: Insomniak (Mac Miller feat. Rick Ross)

Mac Miller dropped his new mixtape, Faces last week, and one of the songs off it is Insomniak, which features Rick Ross. Really dope song if you ask me. I like how he used Drake's flow on the first verse, then delivered with his own dope flow on the second verse. And Rozay did his thing too.

First Week Sales Prediction Of Mac Miller's 'Watching Movies with the Sound Off' Album

Mac Miller is dropping his second album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off next week Tuesday, June 18 to be precise. That is the same day J.Cole's Born Sinner album, and Kanye's Yeezus are also set to officially drop. That looks like some tough competition, but I think each one of them have their core audience, and they would move their individual units.

I would predict Mac Miller's "Watching Movies with the Sound Off" album would sell between 160-180k first week. His first album, Blue Slide Park sold 145, 000 first week with no hot radio single when it was released in 2011, so he definitely has a loyal fan base. I don't think 2 years is enough for your fan base to grow to old for the type of music you make, so I think he would sell more with this second album, cos he has definitely built on the fan base with the collaborations he has done here and there. So, I predict 160-180k first week. And I think the cover is very creative, and has the ability to attract buyers of all sexual orientations. Heck, some might even buy it on impulse.So, I am sure he would at least do 160k first week.

Mac Miller Comments on Possibility of Signing With A Major Label

After Mac Miller's Blue Slide Park topped the Billboard chart at number 1back in November, selling 144,000 copies in its first week, independently, people started wondering how he did it. Most people that sell that much do it with a major label machine behind them. And these unknown white rapper did it all by himself, with the support of an independent label (Rostrum), and his twitter and facebook fans. I think that's incredible. Instead of settling for a dollar on each of his CDs sold if he was on a major, he would be making like 6 dollars on each CD on an indie. I think that is really cool for someone just starting out.

Even established acts don't normally want to take the risk of lower promotions with an indie label...the Majors put bigger budgets behind their artists albums. Now, he is beeing questioned if he would consider going the Major way-

“So my whole thing is, I’m more into keeping independent because I’m more into working with people who I know very well,” he said. “But if I reach a point where there’s things I can’t do, which we haven’t reached that point yet, but if I ever reach a point where there’s something I can’t do and I need some help with a major, who knows. I’m not anti-major, like I hate the majors. I’m not that type of person.”

I wish him all the best in his career. I still haven't heard his album, so i can't say what stuff he is made off. But, for pulling off that stunt by himself, i think he might be hear for a while. It shows he really believes in his skill...i keep telling people- TALENT IS NEVER ENOUGH.
