J.Cole Goes Gold in a Week With Fourth Album (4 Your Eyez Only)

North Carolina rapper, J Cole released his 4th album, 4 Your Eyez Only on the 9th of this month (December), and after a full week in stores, the album sold a staggering 511,000 copies first week. This is his highest first week sales with any of his albums so far.

First Week Sales Prediction of Ab-Soul's 'These Days...' Album

Ab-Soul is the next TDE artist up...his These Days album drops next week Tuesday, June 24th to be precise. I want to attempt a prediction of what the album would sell in its first week out. The album has very little buzz, and it is not anticipated like past albums from his label mates, Kendrick Lamar, and ScHoolboy Q. I predict These Days would sell between 40-55k first week.

First Week Sales Projections of 50 Cent's 'Animal Ambition' Album

According to first day sales, 50 Cent's Animal Ambition album is projected to sell between 30-35k first week. This info is courtesy of Hits Double Daily. Hmm! He spent so much to promote this album; he shot thirteen videos for the album. He did a ton of interviews, and he even had Billboard's up around New York. I predicted it would sell between 80-100k first week...I guess I was far off. Who ever thought a day would come when a 50 Cent album would sell this low.




The album is his fifth studio album, and it officially dropped yesterday, June 3rd.

First Week Sales Prediction of Mariah Carey's 'Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse'

Mariah Carey's new album, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse drops tomorrow, and I want to attempt to predict what it would sell in its first week in stores. Mariah Carey has never been one to have big first week sales, but she always stays consistent with her sales afterwards. In 2005, her The Emancipation Of Mimi album sold 404,000 first week, and 50 Cent's The Massacre dropped around the same time, and sold 1.1 million first week...that is almost three times what Mariah sold first week, but she still went on to sell more than him by the end of the year. I predict this actual album would sell between 80-100k copies first week.

Official First Week Global Sales of Rick Ross's Mastermind Album

I guess Rick Ross is not that big Internationally; his Mastermind album sold 200,000 copies globally in it's first week in stores. Since it sold 179,000 copies in the U.S, it means it sold 21,000 copies internationally. Not so bad, but I expected a little more than that. The album is Ross's sixth album, and it was released on the 4th of March.

Schoolboy Q's 'Oxymoron' Streamed 3.3 Million Times on Spotify in First Week of Release

Yup! Although it sold 139,000 copies first week, Oxymoron was streamed 3.3 million times on Spotify in its first week of release. If only all those translated to sales...or even a quarter, he would have made a big entrance into the game with his major label debut. But it's all good...it is good to know that 3.3 million people  took time to stream (listen to) the album.

Rick Ross' Mastermind First Week Sales Projections

According to first day sales of Rick Ross's Mastermind album, experts at HitsDoubleDaily have projected that it would sell between 145-160k first week. Two weeks ago, I predicted that it would sell between 140-170k first week; so, I wasn't far from the truth. By next week Wednesday, we will know the exact numbers. Although this isn't going to be as high as his last album did first week, it will earn Ross another number One album. His major competition was/is Pharrell, and G  I  R  L has been projected to sell between 85-95k first week.

Schoolboy Q's 'Oxymoron' Official First Week Sales

Numbers are in, and after a full week in stores, Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron sold 139,000 copies. This is great for Q. The album is also the number one album on Billboard's Top 200 Album's Chart this week. This is his third album, but the other two were Independently released. So, we can call this his official major label debut album. Congrats to him for pulling in these numbers.

First Week Sales prediction Of DJ Khaled's 'Suffering From Success' Album

Since he dropped his first studio album in 2006 (Listennn...the Album), DJ Khaled has dropped albums every year, apart from 2009. This is 2013, and he dropped his 7th album (Suffering from Success) today, Tuesday October 22nd. What Khaled basically does is bring the best of the best rappers together, and creates some of the best Hip Hop songs in this current times. I think he doesn't get credit for what he does. A lot of people downplay his production work on these albums...they think all he does is shout on the songs, but he definitely does more than that. I predict this album would sell between 70-85k copies first week.  He has come a long way with his albums, and this one is really looking good....really sounding good.

First Week Sales Prediction of Drake's 'Nothing Was The Same' Album

Thank Me Later sold 447k first week, Take Care sold 631k first week, I will put 'Nothing Was The Same' at 600-750k first week. Drake is the leader of the new school when it comes to rap music, and right now, he is definitely at his peak. He kills every rap feature he does, and he is still doing great with his singing...the best of both worlds rolled up in one. Even with the album having leaked on the Internet over two weeks ago, there is no way Drake wont still go Gold first week. It is inevitable...the boy has paid his dues.

First Week Sales Prediction Of Justin Timberlake's '"20/20 Experience" Album

Justin Timberlake is dropping his 3rd studio album, "20/20 Experience" next week Tuesday, 19th March, and I want to attempt to predict what it would sell in its first week in stores. Justin gained popularity while he was with the pop boy band,  N'SYNC, but he has quiet a catalogue as a solo artist. His first studio album, Justified, was released in 2002, and it sold 439,000 copies in its first week in stores. FutureLove/SexSound did even better by being Justin's first number 1 album, and selling 684,000 copies first week when it was released in 2006. This is 7 years later, but judging from how good his latest single, Suit & Tie is doing on the charts, I think Justin still has it...he got a great fan base. I would predict "20/20 Experience" would sell between 400-500k copies first week.



As usual, the bulk of the album is produced by the one and only Tim Mosley, A.K.A Timbaland. I haven't heard the album, but Justin Timberlake never disappoints me...especially when he gets in the studio with Timbaland. But, what do you guys think? First Week Sales Prediction Of Joe Budden's "No Love Lost" Album

Although Joe Budden has a series of mixtapes, unofficial album and EP's to his name, this is going to be his 3rd official studio album. No Love Lost drops tomorrow, Tuesday February 5, and I predict it would sell between 30-50k first week. Two singles have been released from the album- She Don't Put It Down, and N.BA (Never Broke Again).

Joe Budden has 644,000 followers on twitter, but I won't rule out the possibility of half of them being haters or just crowd following people. The other half, which is about 300,000 are probably his real fans. I won't say all his real fans would buy his album, but Budden communicates well with his twitter followers, and I would say at least 10% of them would buy his album in the first week...and that's about 30,000 people. He also appears in the third season of Love & Hip-Hop which is airing on TV right now, but I won't say that would really help increase his album sales.

First Week Sales Prediction Of T.I's Trouble Man Album

After a lot of ups ad downs, and trouble with the law, T.I finally released his 7th album (Trouble Man) yesterday- December 18. His album before this, No Mercy (2010) was released while he was in jail, and it sold 159,000 copies first week. But before then, T.I was in the range of going Gold (selling over 500k copies) first week with his three previous albums. He broke that flow with his jail stint. I would predict Trouble Man: Heavy is The Head would sell between 130-170k first week.

He had the "Balling" single with Lil Wayne that's really cool, but this album doesn't have the buzz his albums from the last decade had. But his devoted fans will still support him, that's why I predict it would sell between 130-170k. Check out the tracklist below-

Wiz Khalifa dropped his new album (O.N.I.F) last week Tuesday, and after a full week in stores, it sold 141,000. That is not as much as rolling papers sold (197k first week) a years ago, but its not too bad for the climate of Hip Hop right now. First Week Sales Prediction Of Game's "Jesus Piece" Album

I still can't believe this album is actually droping in a couple of days...I thought it would get pushed back or something. I mean, Game had another title (Five) for his fifth album, until he changed the title to Jesus Piece like 5 months ago. But, I wish him all the best. This is last album with Interscope, and he becomes a free agent afterwards. I would predict Jesus Piece would sell between 60-75k first week.



His last album, The R.E.D(2011)  Album sold 98k first week last year, but that one got more promotion than this. I think the reason Game got so many features on this album is cos he just wanted to get it over with as soon as possible, and get out of his contract with Interscope Records.

I think Rihanna's hardwork and persistence is paying off big time. She just had her first number. 1 album in the U.S with her Unapologetic album selling 238,000 copies first week. And now, the total global sales for the album has come in, and she old 492,000 copies in its first week worldwide...that is doubling what she sold in the U.S. I guess her 777 world tour paid off real good.

Official First Week Sales Of Rihanna's "Unapologetic" Album: Rihanna's First Number 1.

This is Rihanna's 7th album in 7 years, and is her first album to debut at number 1. on the Billboard top 200 album chart in the U.S. The album (Unapologetic) sold 238,000 copies in its first week in stores. Congratulations to Rihanna and her team, it's a long time coming. I guess consistency and hard work pays off.

I really don't see the big deal with how people are making it to seem like having a number 1. album is a milestone achievement for her. Rihanna has been a success story since she dropped her first album (Music Of The Sun) in 2005. This is her highest first week sales so far. Her last two albums, Talk That Talk (2011) & Loud (2010), sold 198k and 207k first week respectively.

Rihanna's 7th album (Unapologetic) dropped today, 19th November, and I want to try and predict what it would sell in its first week. First of all, I would like to congratulate her on her persistence. She has been in the music industry for 7 years, and she is about to drop her 7th album. She is definitely the princess of pop right now.

Her last two albums, Talk That Talk (2011), and Loud (2010) sold 198,000 copies and 207,000 copies respectively in their first week out. I think, judging from the fact that she has been consistently on radio and MTV, I would say this one would sell a little more in its first week. I predict that Rihanna's 7th album, Unapologetic would sell between 200-240k copies first week.
