New Music: Studio Remix (ScHoolboy Q feat. Nas)

ScHoolboy Q got Nas on this one...Studio Remix; ScHoolboy feat. Nas, and BJ The Chicago Kid. Nas spoke on dropping his new album (last album on Def Jam) very soon on this one. Nice laid back song.

Listen and download the song below.

ScHoolboy Q Not Happy With Oxymoron Reviews

ScHoolboy Q released his third album (first major label album) in February, and it has done moderately well in the sales department, moving over a quarter of a million copies to date. But, Schoolboy Q seems not so happy with the reviews the album got when it dropped four months ago. In a recent interview with ACCLAIM, he voiced his frustrations on the matter.

"I spent a fucking year putting together Oxymoron, and these reviewers have figured it all out and made up their minds about it the day after it was released? Come on, man. I poured my heart and soul into this thing. You can’t tell me you absorbed it all after one or two listens."

Personally, I like his delivery/flow on most of the songs off the album, but the lyrics didn't really do it for me. So, maybe that's the same problem most of the individuals and corporations that reviewed his album felt too.

Schoolboy Q's 'Oxymoron' Streamed 3.3 Million Times on Spotify in First Week of Release

Yup! Although it sold 139,000 copies first week, Oxymoron was streamed 3.3 million times on Spotify in its first week of release. If only all those translated to sales...or even a quarter, he would have made a big entrance into the game with his major label debut. But it's all good...it is good to know that 3.3 million people  took time to stream (listen to) the album.

First Week Global Sales of Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron Album

TDE artist, Schoolboy Q dropped his major debut album, Oxymoron last week Tuesday. And after a full week in stores, the album sold 157,000 copies globally. It sold 139,000 copies in America alone, and the remaining 18,000 copies was sold in other countries in the world.

Schoolboy Q's 'Oxymoron' Official First Week Sales

Numbers are in, and after a full week in stores, Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron sold 139,000 copies. This is great for Q. The album is also the number one album on Billboard's Top 200 Album's Chart this week. This is his third album, but the other two were Independently released. So, we can call this his official major label debut album. Congrats to him for pulling in these numbers.

New Video- Break The Bank (Schoolboy Q)

Schoolboy Q's major label debut album, Oxymoron is dropping in two days time (February 25), and he recently dropped the visuals for one of the latest single off the album, Break The Bank. The video features his 3 year old daughter, and is just generally a simple video shot in the hood. Check it out below.

First Week Sales Prediction of Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron Album

I think this album is going to surprise everyone. It has gotten pre-ordered by 23,000 people according to Top Dawg (TDE C.E.O), so it definitely is going to do more than double of that first week. But I think it will do way more than that. I predict Oxymoron will sell between 110-140k first week. What is gonna work in favor of Q is the fact that there are no other major albums dropping around this time, and the fact that the album already leaked and is getting a lot of good reviews. It officially drops next week Tuesday...February 25. Lets wait and see how true my predictions will be.

New Song:Blind THreats- Schoolboy Q feat. Raekwon

Another leak from Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron album hit the Internet a couple of hours ago. Blind THreat features the legendary Wu Tang Clan rapper, Raekwon. It's good when the young link with the old. Q goes philosophical on us for this track, and I really like that. Give the song a listen below, and also download if you like it.

Schoolboy Q Says He is The Best Rapper in Black Hippy

Schoolboy Q has been known to make some very controversial statements in the last couple of months, so this does not surprise me. I guess it is all for publicity. During an interview with Torae of Hip Hop Nation, he said he was the best rapper from Black Hippy. In case you don't know, Black Hippy is a rap clique which comprises him, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, and Ab-Soul

Read his words below-
“Me." (He answered, when asked who the best rapper from Black Hippy was). "Cause I am. I smoke weed. The most girls like me. I dress nicer than them. I rap better than them. You can listen to me by yo self. You can listen to me with the homies. You can play certain songs for your mama. You can play me in the strip club. I’m everywhere. I’m better than them niggas.”

His album (Oxymoron) drops in a couple of weeks (Feb. 25), and headlines like this will surely get him great publicity, so it's all good.

School Boy Q Speaks On Oxymoron Album

TDE artist, School Boy Q  is about to drop his first album (Oxymoron) on a major label, and he got with Miss Info to let the world know what's up with the album. His friend and label mate, Kendrick Lamar is one of the hottest rappers out of the new breed of rappers right now, and he also just recently went platinum with his debut album (Good Kid M.A.A.D City), so there is a lot of pressure on Q to live up to the hype his black hippy crew member, Kendrick created. He has released two independent albums before this, but this is first major label release

‘Oxymoron’ is finished, I finally turned it in. Everybody thought I was having, like, label problems. I just wasn’t ready, so I kept recording and recording and recording. It’s like your baby, so you want to make sure it’s perfect, ’cause this could make you or break you. I could really fall off; rappers do it all the time.'

Yea, I guessed as much. He is under a lot of pressure, because people are watching, and waiting, and they are going to compare his album to Kendrick's. So, it is only right he gives it his best shot. Kendrick is featured on the album, and it will definitely give the album some hype. Lets wait and see how things turn out.
