Lil Wayne Gives Latest Update on 'Tha Carter 5'

Tha Carter 5 is one of the most anticipated albums of 2014, and Lil Wayne has taken time out to tell fans what to expect from his 9th full length album. He says it's all about growth on this album, and that his thoughts are wiser. Read what he told ESPN about the album below.

Tha Carter V is about growth, flat-out," he said. "My thoughts are wiser. I still say what I want to say—it just sounds better and makes more sense. That all comes with growth and maturity...I never try to send messages through music," he continued. "Music is about self. It’s supposed to be personal, a reflection of me, unless you have somebody writing it for you, and everybody know I’m not that artist. I’m not sending a message because that message may not get across. Whatever message you take from it is your choice.”

ScHoolboy Q Gives Info on Follow-Up to Oxymoron

ScHoolboy Q dropped his major label debut album earlier this year, and Oxymoron landed at the number one spot on Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart, with 139,000 copies sold first week. With the album still selling a couple of thousands of copies every week, Q ain't waiting around. In a recent Rap Up interview, he spoke on already sketching out two follow-up albums.

"I got two of my next albums titled and concepts of how I wanna attack and how I wanna put certain things to the light. The subject matter will be just as personal as Oxymoron. I haven't even talked about my mom yet. I left that out my album for other albums. I never talked about my father. Just saving certain things for different albums and concepts."

Well, I hope it comes to fruition, cos rappers be speaking out their ass sometimes. Or they might even be serious, and then lose the momentum after a couple of months. Plus TDE has to drop Ab Soul's album, Jay Rock's album, and then Kendrick's second album, before they come around to another ScHoolboy Q album. Let's see how things go in the next couple of months.

Master P Says He Is Ready To Takeover The Hip-Hop Scene

Master P, as a rapper and a record label owner (No Limit Records) was popping back in the late 90s. I still remember thinking back then like how did this guy sell so much records when I don't even know any of his songs. But I can say he started that whole south of America takeover of the hip hop scene. He even put his son, Lil Romeo on the scene at only 10 years old. Although his No Limit label went bankrupt at some point, Percy Miller (Master P) had diversified into many business ventures at his prime, and has a high net-worth of $350 million; that is higher than 98% of rappers and rap moguls currently in the game.

I don't how possible that would be, but he plans to takeover the rap scene in 2013. Read what he had to say in a recent interview below.

"What's up y'all, it's the boss of all bosses, on a private plane right now," Master P said in a video. "No Limit film, coming from the projects to be able to do what we do, it's definitely a blessing. I thank the man up above. It's my life, it's a nice life, it's a beautiful life. ... I know a lot of y'all thought it was over for me. I just had to dig up the little money I had, take over this sh*t again. Never count me out. I am the best hustler in the game and I am the boss of all bosses." (No Limit)

Updates on Nas's Life Is Good Album...Plus Rough Tracklist

Nas is about to drop his 10th album, Life is Good, and he had a listening session yesterday. I guess Nas would be going on tour shortly, and i guess that's why he had to have the listening session this early. The album doesn't drop till July 17, and that's still a full month away.

People present at the event are making us believe that this album might be his best album yet. We have to wait till it drops to know that, but judging from what he has dropped from it so far- Nasty, The Don and Daughters, i know he is in the zone right now. Even with the Black Lost Part 2 that people didn't like because of the hook, no one can say his verses were anything short of perfect. The track wont be on the album by the way, it was just a teaser for the fans. And Nas said it wasn't finished before it leaked.

Check some tweets from rapper Skyzoo on the album below-

Listen, I'm not saying its better than illmatic. I'm saying its monstrous. His best work in years. Its what you ALL want from him

Below is the rough sketch tracklist that people at Kanye's blog (kanyetothe.com) put together, following the listening session yesterday-

1.  The Train- Produced by No.ID

2.  Bassline Ridic

3.  Ill

4.  Accidental Murderer feat Rick Ross- Produced by Salaam Remi & No.ID

5.  How It All Got Started

6.  Daughters

7.  The Don or Nasty

8. ######

9.  This Kind of Love

10.  Summer on Smash feat Swizz Beatz & Miguel

11.  Street Shit- Produced by Swizz Beatz

From reliable sources, 13 tracks were played, but the album will have 15 or 16 tracks, and the deluxe edition will have 18. This will be his last album with Def Jam. He had earlier signed a 3 million dollar, 3 album deal wwith Def Jam in the mid 00s, and this sees the end of the deal (3 albums- Hip Is Dead, Untitled, and Life Is Good). Nas would once again be a free agent after this, unless he wants to re-sign with Def Jam.

With all the promo Nas has done with this album, and putting himself out there more, i would say this album would be his most successful in years. He already has 3 videos out from singles on the album, and Swizz was talking about them shooting the video for Summer on Smash soon. Nas has never been known to really promote his albums like this with so much videos.
