6. "Plastic Bag"

Jeezy and T.I Might Make a Joint Album

The two heavyweight rappers from Atlanta have been teasing their fans about a joint album for a couple of years now, and things have just got a little interesting on the issue. During a recent MTV interview, at Power 105.1's Powerhouse Concert, T.I and Jeezy spoke on the possibility of a joint album from them.

Scarface Speaks on Collabo Album With Nas

As different as they may seem, they are similar in the message they deliver. They have appeared on each others albums in the past, and most recently on DJ Khaled's Kiss The Ring (2012) album, on a track called Hip Hop. They have always been talks of a collaborative album between the two, but they just haven't come around to getting it done. During his recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Scarface spoke on when to expect the collabo album.

"I talk to Nas probably about once or twice a month. Maybe more than that. We always talk about doing an album together and sh*t but you know, I know, we're probably 99.999 it's gonna happen. Wait, wait, wait, but wait. 99.99999, it can happen and it probably will happen but where and who puts that sh*t out is the debate. You feel me? Me and Nas are definitely in talks. It's not even a money thing with it, it's like some sh*t that's got to be done. We've been talking about this for ten years or more."

I can't wait. And I want a Nas and Game collabo album too. And a Nas and DJ Premier album.

Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne Soon to be Working Together Again

Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne are two people I love to hear on a track together. They had a couple of songs together back in the late 2000s, and they were even supposedly working on a collabo album (I Can't Feel My Face), which never came to fruition. But Vibe recently caught-up with Juelz Santana during the video shoot for Billboard Bitch (a song by Avian feat. Dipset), and Juelz spoke on possibly working with Lil Wayne again pretty soon.

"Wayne told me to come out to L.A. I'm definitely looking forward to going out there and getting some things done. I don't know what those things exactly are going to be yet."

Let's see what comes out of this in the next couple of months. I really would love to hear a Santana/Wayne collabo track on Tha Carter 5.

Game and Ed Sheeran Working on Joint Album

Game has announced that he and young English singer, Ed Sheeran are currently working on a joint album. He said it started out as just a one song thing, but once they got in the studio, they found that the chemistry would take them further than just doing one song.

Game let the cat out the bag during his recent interview with MTV.

“I’m working on a joint album with Ed Sheeran that we trying to drop probably end of the year, beginning of 2015. That is gonna be crazy. Ed came up with the idea to start working on a joint album, and we started doing it. That was like in five hours. We was just going. He was on that guitar. Acoustically, he’s a genius, man, so when he does that, what comes out of me is songs like ‘Dreams’ and ‘Hate It or Love It’ and ‘My Life.’ The songs that we got, they’re real songs. And I can’t wait for people to hear ‘em.”

I hope this comes to fruition, cos I know Game as one to talk a lot of shit, and never follow through with it. If it does happen, I would love to hear it...I like Game when he is more soulful, than when he is all ignorant on the mic.

Possible Raekwon and Nas Collaborative Album

Wont it be great to have two legends doing a full length collaborative album...Nas and Raekwon doing a collabo album would def make a lot of old hip hop listeners happy. It is still being discussed, but listen to what Rae said about it-

“I mean, whatever Nas wants, that’s my nigga,” the Chef told XXLMag.com. “As far as an album? We talked about that—Me and Nas sat down like real niggas like, ‘Yo, wassup! We need to do that!’ If everybody want that and me and him be able to sit in a room and business is correct and we both respecting what it is, I’m down.

“So whatever happens in the future, hey, you know what I mean,” he added. “He know how I get down. My clips is loaded. It’ll be a rhyming album, I know that, but whatever. That’s a good friend of mine so, whatever.”

For a few people that don't know who Raekwon is (yes, there are people that don't know him from the past), he is member of the legendary rap group, Wu Tang Clan (which also includes Method Man, Ghostface Killer, RZA...). Nas has been a frequent collaborator with the Wu family in the past, so he is more like family. The last effort was Rea's Rich & Black track off his Shaolin vs. Wu Tang album last year.

Do i see this happening? I don't know...you never can tell. But if it does happen, it is not going to be any time soon. Nas is giving his full attention to his 10th album, Life Is Good. And aside's from that, there are already some Nas collaborative efforts people have been waiting on for a while. Last year, Nas was featured on Common's ghetto dreams track, and then there was rumour of a full length album between the two in the near future. Common even spoke on it, saying it would be titled Nas.Com. Then there is the rumoured AZ collabo album...and also the DJ Premier collabo album, and the Game collabo album, and the Jay Electronica Collabo album. And then there is the super group that is to be formed by Nas, Q-Tip and Common.

DJ Premiere Speaks On Collaborative Album With Nas

There has been talks for a while now about a collabo album with DJ Premiere lacing all the beats, and Nas doing his thing. I think i first heard about it in 2006, after Nas's Hip Hop Is Dead Album dropped. The news has been on and off since then. But you can't really count on someone like Nas to be ontime. I wont say he is lazy, but if he is not in the zone, he is not doing it. But once he gets in the right spirit, it would be done in a flash...like the collab he did with Damian Marley (Distant Relatives)...i think that album was a masterpiece.

Below is what DJ Premiere had to say about the project-

"[With] Nas, it's always fun to work with him because we have a formula and vibe that already works. It's not difficult. It's like seeing a long lost cousin like, 'D*mn, I ain't seen you in years. Let's get back to what we used to do.' I submitted some tracks, so hopefully those will work, but if not, he and I are still going to do the Nas/Premier album," he said. "But he has other albums that come before, but we're still going to do it, we've spoken about it." (Hard Knock TV)

Premiere and Nas have always been good together...They have a long history together...from the first Nas album (1994), Illmatic, to 2nd Childhood on Stillmatic (2001)...i think that was the last track they did together. But between Illmatic and Stillmatic, Premiere produced tracks on all 5 albums...more than one track in some cases. I think one of my personal nas/premiere favorites has to be Nas Is Like from the I Am album...Magical!

Let's hope this happens. Nas is currently working on his 10th album, and he is scheduled to work on the collabo album with Common after that. I think the album is to be titled Nas.Com. By then, 2012 would probably be coming to an end...lol!

Juelz Santana Speaks on Lil Wayne Collabo Album

Apparently, Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne had plans of making an album together sometime in 2009, but i guess their individual schedules didn't allow them work it out, but i guess they are both geared up for it now. Read what Juelz Santana had to say about the album below-

“It’s something that Me and Wayne been working on —a project that we been promoting the name,” he said. “So you know —Me and Wayne, we actually talked and decided that it was the perfect time to get together. We just piecing together the music that we already had—that people ain’t hear— along with—he sent me about eight new records.”

but Juelz says that they still have a handful in the stash and plan to hit the studio to record more.
Many of the records from sessions leaked over the years,
“Me and Wayne did about 45 records. So just as many records that leaked before, we had still about 20 records that didn’t leak. Now we gonna do about another 20, 30 records just to make sure the album’s what it’s supposed to be.
“I think the people that want to hear that album want to hear just me and Wayne,” he continued. “I think the best thing for us to do would just be to get with some great producers.”

Cool! I would definitely pick that up when it drops. I have always been a fan of Juelz, and i always believed he had better punchlines than Wayne...or at least ones i can relate to, so i would love for him to get that exposure...that world-wide exposure, and show the people that their is another crazy kid on the block...that has been on the block for a while now.
