You can see Busta hadn't started gaining all that weight he has now, and Bow Wow was in his late teens. By the way, Bow Wow is the one dressed like LL Cool J and making the peace sign.

Former Ruff Ryderz first lady, Eve has been off the music scene for a while now. She has two platinum selling albums to her name, but her last album (Lip Lock), which dropped last year didn't do too well. Not to worry, she is living the life with her millionaire fiance, Maximillion Cooper. Cooper is a British fashion designer, and a race car driver. They have been together for 4 years now, and he proposed to Eve last Christmas. He has been married before, and has kids from that marriage, but I am sure Eve would have no problems with the adorable looking kids. It's a good thing the kids are still young.

Eve Names Her "Top 5 Dead Or Alive"

In a recent interview with SOHH.com, female rapper Eve let the world know who she considers Top 5 Dead Or Alive.

The Roots. I'd definitely say The Roots. I know that's so Philly all day. That's horrible. I'm being bias but definitely The Roots.
Mos Def. I think Mos Def goes in there. He really deserves it.
Talib Kweli. I have to put Mos Def and Talib Kweli both in there. They both deserve it. Those guys both are the ones that come to my mind right now.
Eve. I would definitely put myself in there. I didn't know we could induct ourselves, so of course me.
Queen Latifah. What about Queen Latifah? She has to go in there. You have to think about artists like Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, where are the females [in the SOHH Hall of Fame?] I have Queen Latifah on there because she's Queen Latifah. There's not much more you can say about that. She was out when I was a kid-kid. And her career, still, has transcended. Now she's in the movies but you can't take away what she's done, especially because she's a female in hip-hop. She was definitely an influence for me.

Eve used to be the first lady of the biggest rap movement of the late 90s, Ruff Ryderz...which included the whole L.O.X (Jadakiss, Sheek Louch & Styles P), DMX, Swizz Beatz, and Drag-On. She had a successful solo career back in the day (One Grammy win, one Gold selling album, and two platinum selling albums) , but she hasn't dropped a studio album since her third album, Eve-Olution dropped 11 years ago. She is back, and the first single off her Lip Lock album is titled "She Bad Bad."

I like that she made it just 12 tracks, it shows they is probably no album fillers in their. I would definitely check for it when It drops. By the way, the album is scheduled to drop May 14.

Eve Speaks On Her Upcoming Album- "Lip Lock"

Eve, former Ruzz Ryderz first lady hasn't released an album in 11 years. After her 3rd album in 2002, she took a detour to the movie world, but is about to get on the rap scene again after her long hiatus. This new album is going be her fourth studio album, and is titled "Lip Lock." She already got 1.2 million views on youtube with her "She Bad" song, which is like a teaser. The real album single, "Make It Out This Town" is dropping in a couple of weeks, and the album is set to be released on May 4th.





 Below is what she has to say about her "Lip Lock" album-

"There are so many great tracks on the album," says Eve who ran Billboard though her favorites: "'Eve' is one of my favorites. I'm obsessed with it! 'Mama in the Kitchen' is the one with Snoop on it. I love that! Those and 'Make it Out This Town' -- which is a very positive record -- are probably my top 3."

The "Let Me Blow Your Mind" rapper refers to her latest endeavor as more musical than her past releases. "It's everywhere. There's some club stuff on there, there's some mid tempo stuff, there's some slow stuff on there," she revealed, adding, "It's not the sound that people are used to."

Regardless of her stylistic changes, Eve is confident that she'll still appeal to her loyal fans.

"One of the biggest things that I wanted to do on this album was make people realize why they fell in love with me in the first place and then take them on a journey to where I am now musically. My ear is different but I think people will recognize me. I think you'll hear that I'm in a happy place. I miss my music. My hunger is different than the first time around." (billboard.com)

Eve has, 2 Platinum albums (one of which is a number 1 album), and one Gold album.

Eve Remembers Time With Dr. Dre At Aftermath Records

For the people that don't know, Eve was signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Records back in 1998 when Dre was just starting out the label. She was going by Eve Of Destruction back then, but she got dropped from the label before anything could come out of her deal. She dropped the "...Of Destruction" from her name, and got signed to Ruff Ryderz/Interscope. She blew up with her "What You Want" single, and she became the hottest female rapper in the 1999. She went on to have a very successful rap career.













In a recent interview, she recalls her beginning-

"Aftermath was my first home, with Dr. Dre," Eve reminded viewers when she appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." "But me and Dre just couldn't get along. ... I'm a strong chick and I don't like being told what to do. I don't care if you're the best at what you do. Dre just knows how to push your buttons, but I just have to say every time he pushed my buttons, he got the best out of me. So he knew what he was doin'.

I can't remember exactly what record, but he made me say one word over, like 45 times. I swear to God; I'm not lying," she said anecdotally. "He wouldn't let me out of the studio. I kicked the mic down and threw a bottle at the glass, and after I did all that, I said it the right way and he let me out." (MTV)

Eve Speaks on Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim Beef- 2012

In a recent interview, female rapper, and former Ruff Ryderz first lady speaks on Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim beef. Checkout what she said below-

First of all, there needs to be a level of respect. I feel like a lot of people who are from the past generation trying to get at the new generation, it’s not about publicity. It’s about wanting that respect. I think maybe that’s where Kim is coming from, like, you’re doing your thing right now and no one can take that away from you, Nicki – we all see it — but at the end of the day, if it wasn’t for Kim, she wouldn’t be here and that sh-t is real. And if it wasn’t for Latifah, and if it wasn’t for Foxy and Lyte, I wouldn’t be here.
Yes, Nicki is doing her thing and she’s maximizing the market but that’s because there is no one else out. She’s the only female. She came in at a time when music was so different. She’s doing stuff now that we couldn’t do – well we could do it – I did the collaboration with Gwen, but it’s at a different place. It’s so different and it’s an unfair comparison sometimes for Nicki to say Kim is washed up. Kim is Kim, point blank period. Kim is doing her thing and Nicki is doing her thing.


I think Eve couldn't have said it any better. A lot of people have been trying to be diplomatic with this, and not really say anything because they don't want to be in Nicki's bad books. Probably they are hoping for a feature in the future, but a real person know that Nicki Minaj is outright disrespectful. Of cos you can't take away the fact that she is doing her thing...she is getting caked up and all that, but we all know who she was trying to be like when she first got into the game.


I will say it again, i think Nicki is really nice on the mic, and very creative, but a little respect and acknowledgment, and all this beef thing wouldn't have happened at all. I wish all the female rappers the best. To me, Kim is still a standout.

Eve Used to Be a Stripper

Back in the late 90s, female rapper, Eve used to be a stripper. If it wasn't for the timely intervention of Mase, maybe we wouldn't have known her as a hip hop celebrity...and then a Hollywood celebrity. Mase actually got her out of the strip club, and got her to Ruff Ryderz.


 Eve was an exotic dancer in the Bronx until the fateful night she met Mase. "I gave him every stripper name under the sun! I was like, 'I'm Ginger, I'm Sassy!' He was like, 'Why don't you go get dressed, let's go just talk.' And we did, we talked throughout the night. He was like, 'You're really talented. What are you doing? You know you're not supposed to be here. You know it.'"

Eve, at the age of 18, auditioned for Dr. Dre before Joining Swizz Beatz, DMX, and The Lox signing to Ruff Ryders. "It was a confirmation for me that all these thoughts, all this sadness. All these times that I wake up in the morning, I'm like, 'Why do I feel like this?' And I know I'm not supposed to be there. It just woke me up." (dimewars)




I just keep thinking of how that encounter would have gone. I know Eve probably wouldn't have wanted to talk to anybody about what she was doing while she was a stripper: thank God it was someone popular. And Mase? Mase must have a good heart genuinely, because at that time he had not even gone the religious way.

Eve would never forget Mase for that one act; because he brought her to the light...for real! And it was so wonderful that she blew up big time after that. I mean, that must have been one of the fastest careers to blow up in Hip Hop. She was still stripping in 1998, and in 1999, she was the biggest female rapper in Hip Hop.

Eve Comments on The Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj Beef

I am really tired of bringing up stories related to the Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj beef, but, since Eve is also a female rapper, i think the world needs to hear what she has to say. So, read what eve has to say below-

“I need her to stop. If I was Kim’s friend, I’d be like, yo. Because she’s Kim, period. So she never has to feed. She shouldn’t,” she told BBC Radio 1Xtra. “It’s bad. It’s not a good look. If I was her friend, I’d tell her, yo, just come back bigger and better. The best way to get at people is to do you better than you’ve ever done you. So that’s it.”

She also gave props to Nicki for holding it down for the ladies in the rap game. “I love it. You know, it’s definitely a nice group of females that’s out representing, but because I come from hip-hop, I need more females in hip-hop,” she continued. “Nicki definitely is holding the flag down, and a lot of people be wanting me to hate just because that’s how girls supposed to do in hip-hop, but I’m loving everything she does. But we need more females, man. There’s too much testosterone in the hip-hop game.”



I liked the first response from Kim, "Black Friday", it was hot and it was in defense of Nicki's jab at her on "Roman's Revenge", but i didn't like the idea of kim shooting a video to it, or continuous comments on the matter. As eve said, kim needs to just put in work, and make good quality music; that way, she would show the people that she has still got it. That is exactly what Rick Ross did when 50 cent was trying to assassinate his character with all the comic shit...ross just went to work and produced a classic album (Deeper Than Rap), and kept on dropping hit after hit and everybody forgot what 50 was saying, and focused on Rick Ross's music- and you can see what came out of that; one person is constantly on radio, while the other is cracking jokes on twitter, while his rap career is dwindles with each passing day.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE FEMALE RAPPERS.

Yeah, for real, what happened to all the female rappers? What happened to LIL KIM? What happened to FOXY BROWN? what happened to EVE? I remember when that foxy brown album(illnana) has hot on billboard back in 96/97, when she had that song with BLACKSTREET, "get you home". What happened to when kim had "lady's night" on the charts. In the 90's, these ladies could actually compete with the men in the rap game. And they stood there ground. I can't forget eve and all the backing from the whole RUFF RYDERZ camp she had. She was hot back then.

What happened to the 90's, when this female rappers, and others like MISSY could drop albums and people would actually go to the store to buy them. But now, there are no female rappers that can even hold theirs. The old female rappers, are battling to make comebacks, with their albums flopping. And the new rappers like JACKIE O, REMY MA, and maybe LIL MAMA, just ain't holding it down like that. Apart from lil mama that had something for the younger generation,, and had her album doing just okay, i don't think there has been any other female rappers making waves like that again.

I just wish female rappers could hold their's like before, and spit the realness, with some display of sexiness.

RUFF RYDERZ RE-UNION.

Ruff Ryderz as a group, consisting of rappers dmx, eve, the l.o.x(jadakiss, styles p and jadakiss), infa red, drag-on and beat maker, swizz beats, is making a come back this year.
The group was put together in the late 90's by brothers dee and wah. DMX had a wild buzz back then, so he more or less gave the group recognition. Also, the legendary rap group, l.o.x had made a name for themselves being signed to Bad Boy records. Eve's rap career blew up with the ruff ryderz group.
It was confirmed by wah that the rap group would be dropping another compilation by early 2010. But before then, dmx is goig to be dropping a new album by december. Then eve's album would come shortly afterwards.
