Meek Mill went to jail for violating his probation requirements last year, and he came out around the end of the year, and had a great boost in his career after that. Now, he is about to be sentenced again for violating his probation, for a gun charge that goes as far back as 2008. Pusha T thinks it doesn't make sense and is unfair to send Meek back to jail now, when he is a big part of Hip Hop, and creating jobs for a lot of people through his brand.
During his interview on Power 105.1 radio's The Breakfast Club show yesterday, he was asked by Angela Yee what he feels about Meek Mill telling the judge he wasn't a gangster so as to avoid jail time, and Pusha answered with...
"Yea...Ain't nothing wrong with what Meek did. First of all, like, I'm real particular about Meek. You know...umm! Men! Like...look at...look at the position he is in just...you know, as an artist. Umm! Where he's come from...umm! You know, we talking some charges...how long ago these charges? How old are these charges? I don't got time for Meek Mill to be going through issues about old charges. Like, he's like...a valid part of the hip hop community. Like, he is making money, he is providing...he's providing opportunities...Like...I don't even like to hear about this. Like...for real, for real, its sad that he has to go through this, because he is much more more...men! He is much more viable...you know" (Pusha T's The Breakfast Club Show Interview on Power 105.1 Radio)
Yea, he definitely is much more viable outside of jail than in jail at this point. But, the parole violation stems from Meek Mill not reporting his traveling plans to the court, so I feel Meek has his own fault too. They gave him a simple request..."report all your travel plans to the court. Now, the court has ordered him not to do any shows till he is sentenced in February. What a pain in the ass that could be for an artists who depends on shows for a living. Well, I guess he will finally learn his lesson this time around. He sure needs his girlfriend, Nicki Minaj by his side right now.
