Swizz Beatz Speaks on Returning to School
Swizz Beatz started out producing for Ruff Ryderz at the age of 19, went on to start his own label, Full Surface. He enjoyed some success with his major artists, Mashonda, and Cassidy. Through the years he has produced songs for hip hop heavyweights like Jadakiss, Jay Z, Nas, DMX, and a host of other rappers. He went on to marry the lovely Alicia Keys, and they started a family together. He recently enrolled as a student in the Harvard Business School's Owner/President Management Extension Program.
During his recent interview with The Breakfast Club crew, Swizz Beatz spoke on what prompted his decision to go back to school.
“I just felt like you have to keep graduating your brand,” he said. “A lot of people get complacent with their success and things that they’ve done before and I just wasn’t comfortable with that because I started transitioning from producer to business owner. I would be in these rooms and, no matter how big the deal was or how good it is, people would still look at me like ‘Oh, he’s the rapper guy. He’s the rapper friend.’ I’m like, ‘We all in this meeting because of what I’m bringing to the table.’ But being that I didn’t really have any credentials to go with those different things, I didn’t feel like I was getting the respect that I deserved. So I said, ‘You know what, let me go and sharpen my pencil a little bit and really walk back in these rooms a different person and different man."

Sometime in the last couple of years, Swizz Beatz and Nas got close all of a sudden. I respect Swizz, and his beats are always banging, but I never saw Nas as someone to rap over a Swizz beat. Anyway, their collabo on Life Is Good (Summer on Smash), wasn't that bad tho. I actually heard, back then that they had actually recorded like 3 songs during the studio time for that song.
At the recently concluded Vibe Impact Awards, Swizz Beatz spoke on the countless times, over the years that He and Nas made lots of songs in the studio, but that the songs never made it on Nas's albums...except Summer on Smash, which was on Life Is Good.
“This is my Virgo brother. We’ve done many sessions together. A lot of songs never came out, but we did many sessions together. Because like when we get in the studio it’s just a weird vibe because we forget how much we vibe together. Because he go do his thing. I go do my thing. And when we’re finally in the studio it’s like ‘Man, why we ain’t do this six months ago. You know, I gotta turn my album in next week.’ So, we trying to cram in 50 songs in like a week. And then we say ‘Let’s just save it for the next album.’ We did that about four albums back to back. So, hopefully this album, Stoute won’t let that happen.”

Rick Ross Back With Reebok
A couple of weeks ago, Rick Ross's verse on Rocko's U.O.E.N.O track caught the attention of some female activists, who fight against rape cases. The controversial Ross line went something like..."I slipped the molly in her champagne and she ain't even know it/I took her home and enjoyed that, and she ain't even know it." The feminist group took their protest all the way to Reebok's office in New York, and the Footwear company had to cut ties with Rick Ross when he didn't deal with the situation professionally.
Ross finally wrote a full apology about a week after getting dropped, and news out now is that Ross is back with Reebok. I am guessing Swizz Beatz made some moves for this to happen. Swizz has been a face for Reebok for a couple of years now. Check out the pic Swizz uploaded online a couple of hours ago. That's Swizz, Ross, and Reebok C.E.O (Uli Becker) on the right. Another news for the Ross haters to have sleepless nights over.

The Dream Gives Info On Jay-Z's Upcoming Album
In a recent interview, R&B singer and producer, The Dream shared some info on Jay-Z's follow up to Blue Print 3. This album is going to be Jay's 12th, and it is long overdue. It's been 4 years since a solo album from Jay, and we all know Jay can knock out an album in a month. Word from Dream is that Jay is in the studio with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.Read what The Dream said about the album below-
"Jay of course is working on an album. Mostly close to Tim. Both of them (Timbaland and Swizz Beatz) actually. We were all in the studio together. We were all in the same building, working on Bey's (Beyonce's) album and Jay started working on his,"
