DaBaby Talks About Paying Lil Boosie $15k for a Feature

Rappers collaborate a lot; sometimes it is done for free, and sometimes money is involved. We always want to know how rappers get their money, and one of the way they do that is getting paid through guest appearances on other people's songs. I remember a time back in 2013 when 2 Chainz bragged about getting 100k for features, and doing more than ten a year. In a recent 'The Breakfast Club' interview on Power 105.1 FM radio, DaBaby was asked by one of the hosts (DJ Envy) how much he paid for the guest appearance from Lil Boosie on his 2016 song (Baby Jesus), and he said...

"15 racks ($15k). And then we did two songs. Boosie a hustle though. Shout out to Boosie. We did that one...You know. What's up bro, you trying to do another one? Yeah! I'll do it for half. I think I did 15 for one, and then I did 8 for the next one...and he still show love. That's right when he popped back out. You get what I'm saying. So he was on fire. He was on fire on fire. You know what I mean."

Lil Boosie Speaks on Getting G.E.D in Jail

Lil Boosie got out of jail a couple of months ago, and has been in the news a lot lately. People want to know how much music he has recorded, how he did in jail, when his album is coming out, and all that. During his recent interview with VLadTV, he spoke on getting his GED in prison, and main reason why he did so. 








“I got my GED in prison. I got about eight or nine certificates in prison...I’m always on my kids so hard about staying in school and getting their education and I ain’t got a GED. I wanted to do that for my kids and for my momma. I’ve been putting my momma through so much since I was small. It seemed like when I got my GED that was one of the most happiest moments. I never saw her more happy. [More] than when  I got famous. Me getting my GED she cried. She had tears in her eyes. So basically I did it for my kids—to lead by example—and for my mother. “

A Lil Boosie/50 Cent Song in the Works

Apparently, before Lil Boosie went to jail in 2009, he and 50 Cent had linked up to do a song together, but they never got to finish it. Now that Boosie is a few weeks out of jail and HOT, it is only right they put finishing touches to the song and bang it out. The G Unit general said Boosie tried to get in touch with him immediately he got out of jail, but that he was too busy at the time. He added that he would find time this week to return Boosie's call. This were 50's word during a recent VIBE interview.





"Boosie had an idea that we were doing together and I'm not sure if I ever got back his vocals on it. Because right after, he was charged with murder and then that shit just got out of hand. I got to get up with him. He tried to reach out to me as soon as he got out but I was travelling and had so much shit going on. I'll give him a call this week. I haven't had a chance to finish [the song] but possibly you can hear something from me and Lil Boosie." (VIBE)

Since Lil Boosie got out of jail a couple of days ago, he has released a couple of songs, done a press conference, and has been pictured in the studio with a couple of rappers. Lil Boosie Says He Wrote Over a Thousand Songs While Incarcerated

Well I don't know ow this is possible, but during his Conference earlier today, Lil Boosie let the world know he had written 1,118 songs while locked up. He was in jail for almost five years...that's about 1, 825. I don't want to believe he was writing songs every other day while in prison. If he said a hundred songs, then I might believe.

"Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie and Trill Entertainment held a Boosie Speaks press conference today (March 10) to update fans and the media on the status of the newly-released wordsmith The conference was attended by Bun B, Jeezy, and Webbie, who all spoke briefly on Boosie before the rapper appeared on stage.

Following dialogue from the trio of artists present at the press conference and Boosie’s mother, Boosie’s team of lawyers offered an update on his legal standing. According to his lawyers, the rapper has served all his required time and could possibly be on probation for up to four years. They revealed that Boosie also has a routine hearing in court scheduled for this Thursday, March 13.

Upon making his entrance, Boosie informed those watching that he wrote 1,118 songs while in prison and even has a record for pop star Justin Bieber. The rapper appeared confident about his return to music, stating that the rap game is wide open and ready to be taken over.

“As for the rap game, I feel like the music I got, the rap game wide open for me to take over,” Boosie said. “I feel like what I been hearing these last three, four days on the radio and stuff is different from my music. Like I said, it’s different from my music. And different brings greatness. So, I just feel I stand alone in the music industry to tell you the truth.” (HHDX)

Lil Boosie Says He Can't Wait to Get Out of Jail

I will be honest, I never really heard any of Lil Boosie's songs like that, but he seems to have a lot of fans in the south, and he also gets lots of love in the industry- with all the 'FREE BOOSIE' shouts in rap songs. He is one of the few rappers to make it big out of Baton Rogue, Louisiana. Boosie has been serving a 10 year sentence on Gun and Drug possession charges since 2009, but the system decided to let him out early because of good behavior. He is to be released on February 13, after spending almost 5 years behind bars, and away from his 8 kids. Good thing he is getting out early.







This were his words from jail recently- 

“I can’t wait to get out and squash all that sh*t...I have about 500 songs at the moment. I feel that I'm making the best music I've ever made. The more I go through in life the better my music gets and it's been crazy the last three years. I keep my music heartfelt and stick to making real music. I wouldn't even say it's Hip Hop music. My music is 'reality rap.' Hip Hop music can make you dance and bob your head, but it can't make you cry or touch your heart like reality rap"

Breaking News: Lil Boosie Found Not Guilty

So, the good news is that Lil Boosie has been found Not Guilty of a murder charge. It is breaking news because it really came as a surprise; the court had everything to pin him down...they even played his music in court to convince the jury that his life really reflects what he was being charge for. He has been in jail for a while now, while the trail went on, and the verdict was just reached.

Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch, has been found not guilty of murder. The jury deliberated for about an hour. Supporters cheered outside the 19th Judicial Courthouse in Baton Rouge once the verdict was announced. Hatch and his defense team hugged and began crying once the verdict was read. (KSLA News)

During the trial, prosecutors played Boosie's music to try and connect him to a 2009 murder. 





The jury in Baton Rouge rapper Torence "Lil Boosie'' Hatch's first-degree murder trial listened intently Wednesday to violence- and expletive-laden lyrics that prosecutors say Hatch recorded in his home just before and immediately after Terry Boyd was shot to death in 2009. Hatch's attorneys noted after court that Boyd's name is not mentioned in the lyrics and said the music has nothing to do with the crime. Hatch, 29, is accused of paying Michael "Marlo Mike'' Louding to kill Boyd, who was fatally shot inside a Vermillion Drive home at 12:42 a.m. on Oct. 21, 2009. (The Advocate)




Despite the tactic, Boosie's music ultimately did not get him convicted.
A defense attorney for the rapper known as "Lil Boosie," who is on trial for a murder charge, says violent imagery and lyrics in music are not evidence of a crime. During closing arguments Friday, defense attorney Jason Williams said the prosecution of the rapper, whose real name is Torence Hatch, was influenced by the nature of his music. Williams says the violent imagery is part of a branding effort meant to sell records. (WAFB News)
