Illbliss Gives Update on His Upcoming Album (Powerful)
The rapper is now a boss of his own with his artist management company, The Goretti Company, and also part owner (with Clearance Peters) of one of Nigeria's biggest labels, Capital Hill Music. In his recent interview with Hip Hop World Magazine, Illbliss gave info on his upcoming album, which is to be titled Powerful.
"In this, there’ll be less collaboration on this album. I did a lot of stuffs; I tried out a lot of new stuffs on this album. Each of my albums experiences some level of growth. In each, I tried to show that I am a grown man rapping; that you are a boss in every sense of the word. It’s not sitting down and talking about it, it’s about working it; its being it; acting the part. For me, it’s been a great experience going back in the studio. The album is called Powerful, it comes out at the third quarter of this year but I’m doing my rounds now; trying to drop the right singles’ trying to give radios and TVs, print media, doing all that work that is required for you to do before an album drops." Illbliss Speaks on The Success of Phyno's Debut Album (No Guts No Glory)
Illbliss is one of the few Nigerian rappers that stay consistent on the scene. He has been doing it for more than ten years now, ever since he got into the game with his rap group, Thoroughbreds. Things have changed a little with him since he started The Goretti Company, which manages all the artists on Capital Hill Music, but he is still a rapper first. One the artists he currently manages is Phyno, and in his recent interview with Hip Hop World Magazine, he spoke on the success of Phyno's No Guts No Glory (NGNG) album.
"Massive man! His album is getting so much rave reviews. The fans love the album ‘cos it’s very authentic. It’s exactly what they expected. And then, it had that very big single ‘O Set’ with P Square, it dropped at the right time. They supported the album, it took further prominence. It’s done really well. I mean considering where he (Phyno) is coming from, he started as a producer so NGNG is a massive album." (Hip Hop World Magazine)
Just so you know, Illbliss is a partner of Clearance Peters with Capital Hill Music. So, asides from managing all the artist on the label (Tha Suspect, Phyno, Chidinma...), he is also a part owner of it.

Illbliss Speaks on Current State of Music in Nigeria
During a recent interview with Hip Hop World Magazine, Veteran Nigerian rapper and C.E.O of Goretti/Capital Hill Music, Illbliss spoke on the current of the Nigerian music industry; I couldn't agree more with his analysis of it. Read his words below.
"Well, it’s a growing scene. We have more power players in the business now, there’s really not much monopoly anymore. I mean, you could be an upcoming artiste but still be buzzing harder than more established acts. I also think it’s getting more cash intensive, I mean more finance intensive because you need to put out videos back to back. You need to just stay afloat. As the established acts are putting out very good videos and recording big collaborations, this leaves the upcoming acts with no option but to step their game up. It’s a new turn and very competitive now, very colorful as well. And then, different genres are becoming accepted." (HipHopWorldMagazine)
