First Week Sales of Freddie Gibbs & Madlib's "Bandana" Album

Freddie Gibbs recently dropped a new album with producer, Madlib titled Bandana. After a full week in stores, the Bandana album sold 16,604 copies total. The album was promoted by singles like Fat Tummy Tea, and Crime Pays.

Young Jeezy Speaks on Freddie Gibbs Fall Out

It is not new to the music industry, or any industry for that matter, that bosses and employees fall out sometimes. But it was a bit of a surprise with this two, cos it seemed they got along well. So, when Freddie Gibbs started throwing shots and making beef songs aimed at Jeezy, people were shocked. Gibbs was with CTE for about a year (between 2011 and 2012), but when things weren't working the way he and Jeezy had hoped, they had to cut ties. 




During Jeezy's recent interview with The Truth, he said he went all the way for Freddie Gibbs, but thing just didn't pop off. He also felt they ended their business ties amicably, and was shocked when Gibbs started making diss records directed at him. 

"I put him on a song with Eminem. I put him on a song with T.I. I put him on numerous mixtapes that I had. I took him on tour. Took him around the world. I spent money on videos that he didn't use cause he didn't like em. And it wasn't his money. So, at the end of the day my whole thing was to him was 'I took you to every label in the game. They don't wanna sign you. I don't have no reason--I love you. ... I So, at the end of the day when I called him up I was like 'Yo, I can't really spend my money on you. I got family, other sh*t I gotta take care of. So, I'll help you all I can, but I can't fund it anymore.' Cool. Conversation went well. We got off the conversation it was straight, love. I hear diss records. What I'm supposed to do? I'm not replying to that. Nigga, we getting money...At the end of the day we all tried. It didn't work. That shit happens in business all the time." Hmm! So sad their working relationship had to end on a sad note.

New Music: I Be On My Grind (Freddie Gibbs & The Worlds Freshest feat. Trae Tha Truth, and Yukmouth)

Freddie Gibbs ain't slowing down. After dropping the Pinata album with Madlib two months ago, he is gearing up to drop a project with The Worlds Freshest next week Tuesday. The album is titled The Tonight Show, and one of the songs off it is I Be On My Grind...which features Trae Tha Truth and Yukmouth. Give it a listen.

Freddie Gibbs Speaks on Rick Ross and Young Jeezy Squashing Beef

The Rick Ross and Young Jeezy beef started around when Ross made that BMF song in 2010, and from then till early this year, it was like they would kill each other if they ever saw in person. Oh yea, they did see at 2012 BET Awards, and things got ugly for a minute. But then, a few weeks before Ross dropped his Mastermind album this year, War Ready dropped...and we heard Rick Ross and Young Jeezy on the same song. Freddie Gibbs used to be signed under Jeezy's CTE label till they had a falling out, and in his recent interview with Hot 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club crew, he spoke on the Ross and Jeezy unity.

"Guys like Jeezy and Ross, they kinda like made gangsta rap into something different. They took it to a whole 'nother level which is great but they just made it something different, more commercialized and that's cool. [The Jeezy and Ross truce?] That's cool. It's good for business with them. You know what I mean, whatever works -- it's good for the rap game. [Did I see it happening?] Personally? Nah. Not while I was there - especially with all of the fighting. I didn't know they'd ever do a record together. But it's rap, man, everybody makeup and do things together." ("The Breakfast Club")

Freddie Gibbs Speaks on Working With Scarface

Former CTE rapper, Freddie Gibbs dropped a collaborative album (Pinata) with Madlib last week, and on it he features the legendary southern rapper, Scarface. In his recent interview with Radio.com, he said working with Scarface was a dream-come-true for him, and that he is still in awe over the collaboration













“It was a dream come true. I’m still kinda in awe of that. I still can’t believe I got him on the record. I guess Kobe [Bryant] felt like this he stepped on the court with Michael Jordan, or played in an All-Star game with Michael Jordan. That’s how I felt. It’s very surreal.” (Radio.com)








It is always great to get to meet/work with your idols in any field, so I know how he must feel. I have been hearing a lot of good things about the Pinata album; I think I will definitely get it tonight. 

Freddie Gibbs Names Top 5 Dead or Alive

Freddie Gibbs has come forward to name who he considers the top 5 dead or alive in Hip Hop history. The term- Top 5 Dead Or Alive was a phrase coined by Jadakiss in 2002, and a lot of people started using it afterwards. Allhiphop.com started interviewing rappers and asking them who they would put on their list. Now, sohh.com has taken up on that...that's where i got this particular issue from.

• Young Jeezy. Jeezy created his own lane. Even if I wasn't signed to Jeezy, I'd say the same sh*t. It's alotta n*ggas that have careers because of him. They're feedin' their families off of a lane Jeezy created. I ain't gotta say no names, you know who them motherf*ckers are.
• Ice Cube. Why is Ice Cube not in the Hall of Fame? Y'all f*ckin' up, man. Cube is one of the fathers of Gangsta Rap. You can't leave him out of the conversation.
• Too Short. That n*gga taught me how to curse. You know what I mean? Gotta give Short the crown. Top 5 Dead or Alive and he still livin' and doing his thing.
• Scarface. The greatest gangsta rapper of all-time man. Storytellin'. Wordplay. Song-structure and flow, who can doany of that sh*t better? He made motherf*ckas listen to the South. (Ed. Note: Though he was told about our "Hall of Fame" section, Freddie refused not to list him.)
• Jadakiss. I think Jadakiss is probably the best East Coast pure rapper [throughout] ten years, my n*gga. Maybe more.
