Who Will Win a Rap Battle Between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma?

Although Remy Ma has denied in several interviews that she has no issues with Nicki Minaj, if you pay close attention to most of her recent lyrics, you would know that she has been throwing shots at Nicki non stop lately. So I want to ask you guys, who do you think would win in a lyrical battle between these two Femcees?


Let me shed a little more light on the shots Remy has been throwing at Nicki. On her and Fat Joe's Money Showers single, she rapped- 'Bitch claiming she the queen, what? Not hardly/Who the fuck gave you your crown bitch? Steve Harvey?" This is clearly a direct shot at Nicki, who has been claiming the tittle of  the Queen of rap music for a while now.

Mysonne Comments on Game and Meek Mill Beef

In a recent interview with Allhiphop.com, New York rapper, Mysonne spoke on the ongoing beef between Meek Mill, and Game. His wish is that it stays on wax and doesn't spill into the streets. Read his words below.

“We as men will always have our differences. When the ego stings and testosterone flares, we might not be able to let it go. I love the competition, the battle, the bars, but when it turns into beef, we all know how these kinds of things play out. The Game and Meek Mill are two men with strong street influence getting into a no-win situation.

At one time, you could ask for a “fair one” and after the fight, it would end there. But we live in an era where any coward can resort to shooting because they’re scared. While I’m not suggesting that either of these Kings are cowards–and I know them both so I’m going to say they aren’t–but there are people who will use this situation to try and get stripes and that will only create a serious war. We are already at war with the enemy, so we can not afford to be at war with each other. 

Dr. Umar Johnson Comments on The Drake and Meek Mill Beef

The latest person to weigh in on the Drake and Meek Mill beef is Dr. Umar Johnson, a black American psychologist and activist. Apparently, he, like everyone else believed Meek should have come harder than he did. He is also from Meek's hometown, Philadelphia.

In his last week interview on The Breakfast Club show with DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God, they got talking about the beef/battle between Meek and Drake, and he had this to say about it.

Nas Speaks on Past Beef With Jay Z

Nas and Jay Z are all good friends now, and have been on four songs together since after they squashed their beef in 2005. But their beef is still discussed in Hip Hop as one of the most memorable hip hop battles of all time. While speaking on the Tupac and Biggie beef during an MTV Special recently, the discussion got deviated to his past beef with Jay Z, and he had this to say about the period...













"Today’s music industry it’s really about money now and back then during that period, when you talk about me battling with Jay, it was about something else. It was not just about being the top guy in Rap. It felt like we were leaders of nations. Not that we were egotistical as, 'I’m the leader.' No, not in that sense. I mean what you felt surrounding us was there was an importance in what we were doing that mattered more than just success. It was more than just, 'Oh my record’s going to sell.' Yeah we need the records to sell to make money. That was something we thought about, but put that aside. When 'Pac made 'Dear Mama,' and these records and then he had to switch up to get in war mode, these were chess moves. This was real… Today, it’s a whole 'nother world. I’ll just leave like that." 




Yea, true, when Nas and Jay Z were beefing, it wasn't really about who was richer. Obviously at the time, Jay Z had overtaken Nas in the finance department already, but still, it was about skills on the mic. And I guess that was what made it so great...it had the whole hip hop world divided into two side...the Jay Z fans, and the Nas fans. I had some of my most interesting Hip Hop arguments at the time. I also made some very good friends from the opposition camp as well. I can't believe that was 13 years ago already.

Meek Mill and His Artist, Louie V Gutta Go to War on Twitter

I think the social media is turning Hip Hop to something really comical...in fact, it is turning the world into a joke. When people can be in the same building, or even side by side and be bad mouthing each other on twitter, you know something is wrong with the world. But this one is very funny. Meek Mill's artist, Louie V Gutta (Dream Chasers Records recording artist) went off on Meek yesterday; he even threatened to beat up Meek. Ain't that funny? How can you threaten to beat up your boss? LMAO! Ain't that some funny shit?

So, this is what happened. Apparently, Louie V Gutta has some issue with another artist named Slow, who got his chain snatched on stage at Summer Jam by some members of 50 Cent's entourage. So, Louie put up a tweet about 'Karma' catching up with the dude or something. Then, Meek, who is a friend of Slow, checked Louie on twitter. And then, everything went bezerk from there on. lol! 50 Cent Speaks on Who Won Jay Z and Nas Battle

I guess the beef between Jay Z and Nas will always get discussed in Hip Hop, even in twenty years to come. I remember on 'I Get High All The Time' from back in 2003, 50 Cent rapped "If David could go against Goliath with a stone, I can go at Nas and Jigga, both for the throne." Of cos he did try ways to go at them, but it wasn't as monumental as their own beef. So, 50 Cent visited the issue again in his recent interview with Complex, and spoke on who he feels won the battle between Jay Z and Nas.

“If you would ask someone who listens to lyrics who won between Nas and Jay Z, they would say Nas. Ate that boy alive. But if we looked at Nas and we looked at Jay Z at this point right now we see something that reflects something different. It’s what kind of win are you looking for,” 







I guess 50 Cent is trying to say because Jay Z is more successful than Nas, he won the battle. Well, it is called a rap battle, not a possession contest. And it has nothing to do with howmany records you are selling. Even during the time of the beef, Jay Z was still selling more records than Nas, but people judged based on the beef songs they put out going at each other. Bar for bar, Nas defeated him, period. End of story. 

Schoolboy Q Says Jay Z Won Battle with Nas

Why are we going back to the Jay Z/Nas beef in 2013? I guess cos it is one of, if not the most legendary battles in Hip Hop history. In a recent interview on VLAD TV, Black Hippy member, Schoolboy Q said he believes Jay Z won the battle, but that people say Nas won cos they don't want to admit that Jay Z is the best rapper ever. Hmm! Hear him out.

"Honestly, I think Jay Z won. Everybody say Nas won but honestly I think Nas won. Nas is my favorite rapper but Jay Z was pretty scandalous. Jay Z didn't let it go. When Nas was kind of letting it go, Jay Z didn't let it go. He was still throwing a jab out there and add people to his roster. Nas was going simply at Jay. It was like one time he mentioned somebody else, Jay was bringing his homies, [getting them] involved, his brother, everybody, just going at him. Jay felt some type of way after 'Ether.' ... Jay's the best rapper and they don't want to believe, even though Nas is my favorite, Jay's like LeBron, Jordan, Kobe. People just want to say [he's never lost] or hate or people just want to hate on Kobe." (VLAD TV)






Okay, you guys know I am a bigger Nas fan than I am of Jay Z, but I am going to try and be unbiased with my analysis of what Schoolboy Q is insinuating. He said Nas was an Underdog, and everybody supported him over Jay Z because of that. Hmm! That is definitely not what I remember. Everybody felt it was over for Nas after Takeover hit. In fact, the fast time I heard Takeover was at a party I threw. The party was over, and someone threw in the new Jay Z album (The Blueprint- 2001)...Takeover was the second track on that album, and after it finished playing, my friend looked at me and shook his head for Nas. As a big Nas fan, the song made my week miserable. It was like a deathblow, and I never thought Nas could top it. I guess that is why 'Ether's is so respected...it definitely not about people not wanting to admit that Jay Z was the best rapper ever (as School 'Boy' Q feels).




If Jay Z won, why did he say, and I quote...'I got stronger after Ether', off the diss track (Brooklyn High) he made for Jim Jones back in 2006. And, during the whole battle back in 2001, Hot 97 held a call in program, which allowed the public to vote on who had a better diss track...Jay Z got 48% and Nas got 52%. A Pretty close margin, but Nas still won. And it kinda solidified the Nas victory the whole thing, cos Jay Z had/has more radio following than Nas, so for the radio people to accept that Nas had a better diss track means just that. Besides, Q was just 14 years old when all this was going on. How much could he/did he really grasp? Let me just leave this alone before I type out an epistle. Cassidy Agrees To Battle Meek Mill

Meek Mill recently put word out there that he would battle Cassidy, and maybe Murder Mook for $100k; and like A.S.A.P, Cassidy responded saying he is down with it. I think this would really be great for Hip Hop. In a time when everything is all "sweet" with Hip Hop; it would be cool to take it back to the gritty...to bring that underground hip hop feel to the mainstream.

"Well, you know, that's what I do, man. I mean, I'm cut from that cloth. I started off with battling so I'm into that but ever since I got a deal and started getting money up in this industry, it wasn't really beneficial for me to battle especially with a bunch of those dudes that are battling all the time," Cass said in an interview with radio host Q Deezy. "I know I'ma bite they head off but it's like, really, what am I going to get out of it? ... Meek got that wave right now, he a household name, bigging him up -- we definitely can get a nice crowd, get some crazy sponsors and get some chicken up. So it'll be beneficial for me to do something like that." (Q Deezy)

This would def be an interesting rap battle if it does go down.
