YG is currently making rounds at radio stations for his new album's (4Real 4 Real) promo tour, and while at Power 105.1 FM radio a couple of days ago, he found out a certain Rolling Stone writer (Danny Schwartz) had written something negative about his album. He got pissed and said said f*ck you to the writer.
This was how it happened. One of the hosts of the radio show (The Breakfast Club) he was on, Charlamange had said, "I saw an article Rolling Stone wrote and they criticized the album. And they said it sounds like you badly want to get out of your label contract...they said it sound like a poor attempt at story telling and a reflection of how badly you want to get out of your label contract."
YG was confused with that and responded with, "Damn! Everyone I talked to said the album was fire. They said it's my best sh*t since My Krazy Life. Who said that from Rolling Stone? I'ma victory slap that n*gga when I see him. F*ck you n*gga. Who ever at Rolling Stone wrote that, f*ck you n*gga. F*ck you n*gga."
I feel YG. As a creative person myself (a novelist), I totally understand why YG got angry over the critic's words. Some critics just criticize for the sake of criticizing. They are all out to look for something bad to say about works they critique, thinking little of the hours the artist put in to create that work.
You can watch the full interview below...the discussion about the Rolling Stone writer comes up around the 42 minute mark.
