According to TMZ, superstar rapper, Lil Wayne is suing his former lawyer, $20 million dollars for overcharging him. It's kind of funny to think of a lawyer being sued. Anyway, the lawyer's name is Ronald Sweeney, and Wayne started using him as far back as 2005, and they caught ties September, 2018.
The man charged Lil Wayne 10% for every deal closed, and now that Wayne has found out that the industry standard is 5%, he wants to get the man back for all he was cheated out of.
You know Wayne had a long legal battle with Birdman's Cash Money Records for close to ten years, and was in a very disorganized state during those times. I guess that was why the lawyer was able to get away with what he did. Apart from charging Lil Wayne 10% for every deal he helped him close, which was unethical, he and another firm he brought in got a 23% and 15% cut of Lil Wayne's Cash Money and Universal settlements respectively.
