1. SOUND TRACK- NOTORIOUS. (42,946)
The soundtrack for the "notorious b.i.g" movie is at number one this week with a total of 42,946 copies in its first week. T.I comes in second as his paper trail album is gunning for double platinum status. The album has done a total sales of 1,596,820 since its release late last year.
Lil wayne stands at number 3 with 15,335 sold this week. Wayne is a couple of thousands away from tripple platinum status, as his grand total sales is at 2,933,533. Ludacris just hit gold this week, now at a total of 504,118. His fellow southside rapper, plies is at the number 5 spot with his third album in just two years in the game, and total sales for his darealist album is at 217,104.
The real king of the south, scarface is still slugging it out on the charts. He is at number seven this week with a weekending sales of 4,051, and a overall total sales of 93,995. That is not bad for a veteran that has been in the game for more than 20 years. I think scarface is one of the only rappers i know that has stuck to delivering staright up undiluted rap. No hype, no gimick, no flashy videos and he is still on charts with the new school. He drops an album titled "emeritus" when more than half of rap listeners do not have a good enough vocabulary to know the meaning of the word and still makes it to the charts, he deserves an aplaude.
I should add that the notorious big soundtrack has some unreleased big songs and also tracks from jay-z, jadakiss and some other rappers.
