First Week Sales Prediction of Game's "1992" Album

It's still two weeks away, but I just decided to do this because of the buzz Game has right now with the whole Meek Mill beef and all. So, Game is about to drop his 7th studio album (1992), and I want to predict what it would sell in its first week out. His last album was The Documentary 2, which was released in two parts, a week apart. The first disc sold 95,000 copies first week, and the second disc sold 48,000 copies first week. These were impressive numbers, considering he is now an independent artist, with distribution of his Blood Money Entertainment projects via eOne Music.

Even though Game has a lot of buzz on him right now, and from what has been heard from the album, it feels like it is going to be dope, I don't expect the album to sell as much as The Documentary 2. This album is more of a street album; more of a back to the basics of Hip Hop album, with no radio singles. I don't think it will appeal to the mainstream listeners like his other albums. But of cos, his fans will support him. I predict Game's 7th studio album, 1992 will sell between 40-55k first week....plus or minus.

The album will be released on October 14th.

  3. The numbers are in...The Game's 1992 mixtape album sold 24k first week. I thought he would at least hit 30k copies. I am a bit disappointed.

  4. The album sold 31k first week, not 24k first week as I initially reported. My bad.
