So, Nicki Minaj has had a long run with it since she came on the scene in 2009. She has enjoyed a very successful career, and has been damn near the only female rapper on the commercial scene, before Iggy Azalea showed up. I am not talking of being the only female rapper in Hip Hop, but she was the only female rapper in the mainstream for a long time. Yea, Kreayshawn popped up for a while, but she was gone as fast as she came. Right now, no one can argue the fact that Iggy Azalea is Nicki's biggest competition.

Technically speaking, Nicki Minaj is a better skilled rapper than Iggy Azalea, but talent is not always enough. In music, as in every other industry out there, the world is more concerned with the individual that can deliver what they want, when they want it, how they want it, every time they want it. And this has to do with dedication to your craft, hardwork, and flexibility. So, who between this two female rappers is the bigger right now?

First Week Sales Prediction of Iggy Azalea's "Reclassified" Album

It is very unusual for musicians to drop albums on a Monday; most drop their albums on Tuesday. So, it was really odd that three big names dropped albums yesterday; Iggy, Rick Ross, and Eminem. Iggy Azalea actually dropped a reissue of her debut album, The New Classic (which dropped earlier this year) with 5 new songs, and named the re-release, Reclassified. The New Classic sold 52,000 copies first week, and is currently at 405,000 copies sold so far. I will predict Reclassified would sell 45-60k copies first week.

Rah Digga Says Iggy Azalea Is Not Hip Hop

Iggy Azalea is an easy target, and insults like this will keep coming. In her recent Thisis50 Radio interview, former Flipmode Squad member, Rah Digga recently said she doesn't consider Iggy Azalea Hip Hop. I love Rah Digga, but I have to say this...why is rappers that nolonger have careers that keep complaining about those that have careers right now? When old rappers still doing good for themselves complain about someone like Iggy, then I will listen.

Iggy Azalea didn't hit the scene with a big bang, but she is gradually climbing up that success ladder. According to Media Traffic, her debut album, The New Classic sold 20, 000 copies globally this week, to now make the album's worldwide sales stand at a grand total of 430,000 copies sold so far.

These numbers shouldn't be confused with national sales. In the U.S, the album is still at a grand total of 308,000 copies sold so far. This means that the album has sold 122,000 copies internationally so far since it was released in April.

T.I Has Words for Iggy Azalea's Haters

With success comes enemies, and Iggy Azalea has a lot of them right now. People say she is unoriginal, or that she is only successful cos she's white, or that she is racist and all that. During a recent interview with Complex Magazine, her mentor, T.I addressed the haters, saying that Iggy is far from being a racist. He said he gets pissed off any time he hears stories people make up about Iggy being a racist.

New York rapper, Immortal Technique recently came to Iggy Azalea's rescue concerning all the people who criticize her rapping voice. People say Iggy is a white girl from Australia who speaks with an Australian accent, but tries to sound black while rapping. While discussing the comparison between Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj during his recent interview on VLAD TV, Immortal Technique said very few rapper actually rap with their speaking voice.

T.I Wants Equality for Iggy Azalea in Hip Hop

Just like people say Eminem wont be as successful as he is if he wasn't white, a lot of people have been saying Iggy Azalea is only successful cos she is a white female rapper. Some have said white people should know their boundaries in Hip Hop, and that the culture is not for them. While being interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine recently, T.I was asked if anyone has ever said any negative thing about Iggy to him. In answering that question, he brought up the issue of equality; spoke on how blacks want equality in the American society, but are not ready to give equality to white rappers in the Hip Hop community.

Iggy Azalea continues to promote her debut album, The New Classic, which dropped earlier this year, and has sold in excess of a quarter million so far. The new video released from the album is her Rita Ora assisted single, Black Widow. Like her Fancy video which had a movie theme, this also did; while Fancy was fashioned towards Clueless, this had the theme of Kill Bill, and even had a cameo from one of the actors from Kill Bill; Michael Madsen. Remy Ma Speaks on Why Female Rappers are Always Beefing

Remy Ma got out of prison over the weekend, and yesterday, she called into The Breakfast Club Show (on Hot 105.1 FM radio) to speak on a couple of things. One of the topics she spoke about was why female rappers are always beefing and going at each other's necks.

"What I think happens with females in this game, they tend to allow other people to pit us against each other. I’ve said this before. They make it seem like there can only be one female. It can be a thousand guys that’s putting out music and rapping and doing what they do, but when it comes to females in this hip-hop business, they make it seem like it can only be one, and if there’s more than one then, ‘Alright, y’all better be at each other’s throats every chance that you get.’ And anytime you say one of those things, they be like, ‘Oh yeah! She has to be talking about this person when she said that!’ And I just feel like it got really crazy. I wouldn’t tolerate it, me personally. But some people are easily led astray. If you have enough people like, ‘She’s coming at you! She’s getting at you! You gotta say something!’ Or, ‘You tryna get on, ma! You gotta diss her to get on ’cause she’s who’s winning right now.’ Like, that’s not what it’s about. I’m around all day. I don’t have to go at somebody else for Rem to do her."

Hmm! I could have sworn she was going at Nicki Minaj in that new remix of DJ Khaled's They Don't Love You No More. Anyway, lets leave that for now. Check out what she said about unity in the female rap world.

"I think it would be dope if we can get an ill chick record with everybody doing what they doing. Me, maybe Iggy Azalea, Nicki…like just do a nice little collabo."

Okay, I think I know what Remy is trying to do. This is pure marketing tactic. Eminem didn't have to like Lil Wayne to do a song with Wayne, and damn near kill Wayne on the song. So, this is what I feel Remy Ma is trying to achieve with this unity talk; Outshine Iggy and Nicki on a song, and get a big bite out of their huge fan base.

Iggy Azalea Gets Role in 'Fast & Furious 7'

Iggy Azalea continues her winning streak; according to Vin Diesel, she got a role in the upcoming 'Fast & Furious 7' movie. It is probably like a cameo, like a short part, but it will do plenty for her growing brand. Below is what Vin Diesel had to say about this.

Diesel spilled the info on this during a recent interview in France when he was asked which song he liked to dance to the most between Jason Derulo's Wiggle, Iggy Azalea's Fancy, and Ariana Grande's Problem...He answered with...

“Well, Iggy Azalea, I just worked with her two weeks ago. I guess you’ll be the first person that knows this — we casted her in Fast & Furious 7. She has a cameo in Fast & Furious 7. So, I'm going to be loyal to Iggy”

The Fast & Furious seventh installment is set to be released April 2015. R.I.P Paul Walker.

Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea Kill Supposed Beef

The whole Internet has been buzzing over a supposed beef between Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea since after Nicki's BET acceptance speech. During her speech, Nicki spoke on never using ghostwriters, and criticized those who do. Read her words below.

"What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it."

Iggy has been rumored to use ghostwriters, and she has become Nicki's biggest competition in the female rappers world. So, it was just believed she was indirectly referring to Iggy Azalea with those words. Who else could she have been talking about?

Anyway, yesterday, Nicki used about an hour long of tweets to clear the air on the supposed feud with Iggy Azalea.

What made Nicki take time to type all these tweets? Iggy had not even said anything about the whole thing at the time. Why is Nicki backpedaling? It is obvious she was referring to Iggy at the BET Awards, cos everyone thought Iggy would win the best female rapper award at BET this year, and when Nicki won again, she obviously wanted to address her only competition. Or why else would she have said what she said? Nicki is a better rapper than Iggy, there is no question in that, but Iggy has been getting more shine than Nicki in the mainstream this year.

Iggy Azalea also spoke on this whole issue on her Instagram a couple of hours ago.

"I have to say the general explosion of pettiness online in the last few days is hard to ignore & honestly...lame. If I had won the BET award that would've been great but it wasn't my year & I don't mind - so you shouldn't either. Generally speaking I'm unbothered by anything that 'happened' at the BET awards and just feel worn out by everyone trying to make me have wars with people all the time. Anyone who wishes me well is welcome in my life & those who don't care get any more of my time. I hate to see everyone exhausting themselves on my behalf over things that I'm still not 100% sure even exist & don't matter. just let it go...This is my mind state about everything & the only time I'm ever going to refer to this again so go nuts guys, Enjoy it. Lol! Funny ending. Overall, I like how Iggy made the whole thing seem like not a big deal at all. I am not a super big Iggy Azalea fan, I probably prefer Nicki's rapping skills to hers', but I like Iggy Azalea as a person. When you watch her interviews, you can't but like her humble nature. She always knew all these kind of hate will come her way because she is a white rapper, and she has prepared her mind for it.

Iggy Azalea's 'The New Classic' Global Album Sales

Iggy Azalea's The New Classic sold 20,000 globally this week, and is now at a worldwide total of 267,000 copies sold so far. That's halfway to Gold globally; it achieved this status in 9 weeks. These numbers should not be confused with what the album has sold in America; nationally, it has sold 192,000 copies in America so far.

Iggy Azalea Plans Re-release of The New Classic

Iggy Azalea is doing really good this year; her album is selling moderately well, and her singles are doing pretty good. Her Fancy single is already 2.2 million copies sold. She wants to capitalize on the buzz she has right now and re-release her debut album, The New Classic. The album dropped in April with 15 tracks...she plans to re-release it with 5 or 6 new songs. This is according to The Boombox.

Nice move. Good way to maximize the buzz she currently has. She would probably make like 5 or 6 radio friendly songs, shoot videos for about two of them, and sell more copies of her album. The album is currently at 200,000 copies sold so far. The re-release of The New Classic is scheduled for a September 17 release date.

T.I Explains The Secret to Iggy Azalea's Success

People say she is not really talented, but her songs are doing pretty good right now. During his recent interview on The Breakfast Club show, T.I took time to explain how Iggy Azalea's success came about. T.I was explaining something to the trio (Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy) about Iggy Azalea, and Charlamagne asked if the incidence was before Iggy blew up. The Grand Hustle boss had to cut Charlamagne off, and explain to him that...

"...Nah! But she...See, what you don't...what people fail to understand is that Iggy had always blown up in her mind. When she came to America, she was like 'Oh, I made it.' You know what I'm saying? When she made it through customs, she was like 'Men! I'm here. I made it.' Compared to where she came from...her humble beginnings in her home town, in her mind she was a star when she got off the plane. And I saw that the first time I sat down with her. So you know, sometimes, you know, I just...I have to remind myself of that. You know what I'm saying. To the rest of the world, she is just coming into her super stardom, but in her head, in her heart, she...she's been here for quiet some time."

I keep telling people; talent is never enough. You have to actually believe in yourself, and then back that talent up with hard-work. So, if you see some rappers shinning that you don't like, tell your favorite rappers to work harder, and believe more in their brand. Iggy Azalea is not American by birth; She is an Australian that traveled to America when she was 16. She told her parents she was just going to America for visiting, and when she got there, she told them the truth. She had come to America to pursue her dream to be a successful rapper. See the sacrifice she had to make at an early age? She moved to America in 2006, and didn't blow up till this year. That's 8 years of chasing her dream, and having to become a model to support herself through all those struggling years. When next you think she got lucky, think of all this.

Iggy Azalea's 'Fancy' Goes Double Platinum

Iggy Azalea's album might not go plat, but the hit single off the album, Fancy has already gone double platinum. Yea, this is the age of Hip Hop where only a handful of rappers are able to go plat, but a lot of artists can have their singles sell million copies. Iggy's Fancy record sold 225,000 copies this week, and is now at a total sales of 2,160,000 copies sold so far. The rate at which the single is selling, it would make it to 4 million copies fast before losing steam. Congratulations to her.
