Nicki Minaj vs. Iggy Azalea...Who is Bigger Right Now?
So, Nicki Minaj has had a long run with it since she came on the scene in 2009. She has enjoyed a very successful career, and has been damn near the only female rapper on the commercial scene, before Iggy Azalea showed up. I am not talking of being the only female rapper in Hip Hop, but she was the only female rapper in the mainstream for a long time. Yea, Kreayshawn popped up for a while, but she was gone as fast as she came. Right now, no one can argue the fact that Iggy Azalea is Nicki's biggest competition.
Technically speaking, Nicki Minaj is a better skilled rapper than Iggy Azalea, but talent is not always enough. In music, as in every other industry out there, the world is more concerned with the individual that can deliver what they want, when they want it, how they want it, every time they want it. And this has to do with dedication to your craft, hardwork, and flexibility. So, who between this two female rappers is the bigger right now?

Rah Digga Says Iggy Azalea Is Not Hip Hop
Iggy Azalea is an easy target, and insults like this will keep coming. In her recent Thisis50 Radio interview, former Flipmode Squad member, Rah Digga recently said she doesn't consider Iggy Azalea Hip Hop. I love Rah Digga, but I have to say this...why is rappers that nolonger have careers that keep complaining about those that have careers right now? When old rappers still doing good for themselves complain about someone like Iggy, then I will listen.
Remy Ma Speaks on Why Female Rappers are Always Beefing
Remy Ma got out of prison over the weekend, and yesterday, she called into The Breakfast Club Show (on Hot 105.1 FM radio) to speak on a couple of things. One of the topics she spoke about was why female rappers are always beefing and going at each other's necks.
"What I think happens with females in this game, they tend to allow other people to pit us against each other. I’ve said this before. They make it seem like there can only be one female. It can be a thousand guys that’s putting out music and rapping and doing what they do, but when it comes to females in this hip-hop business, they make it seem like it can only be one, and if there’s more than one then, ‘Alright, y’all better be at each other’s throats every chance that you get.’ And anytime you say one of those things, they be like, ‘Oh yeah! She has to be talking about this person when she said that!’ And I just feel like it got really crazy. I wouldn’t tolerate it, me personally. But some people are easily led astray. If you have enough people like, ‘She’s coming at you! She’s getting at you! You gotta say something!’ Or, ‘You tryna get on, ma! You gotta diss her to get on ’cause she’s who’s winning right now.’ Like, that’s not what it’s about. I’m around all day. I don’t have to go at somebody else for Rem to do her."
Hmm! I could have sworn she was going at Nicki Minaj in that new remix of DJ Khaled's They Don't Love You No More. Anyway, lets leave that for now. Check out what she said about unity in the female rap world.
"I think it would be dope if we can get an ill chick record with everybody doing what they doing. Me, maybe Iggy Azalea, Nicki…like just do a nice little collabo."
Okay, I think I know what Remy is trying to do. This is pure marketing tactic. Eminem didn't have to like Lil Wayne to do a song with Wayne, and damn near kill Wayne on the song. So, this is what I feel Remy Ma is trying to achieve with this unity talk; Outshine Iggy and Nicki on a song, and get a big bite out of their huge fan base.

Remy went on to take a couple more shots at Nicki on the song. Like this one..."Used to have some flab on em, but they put it in their butts." This line is referring to rumor that Nicki Minaj had surgery to make her Ass bigger. I think there is this type of ass job they call Brazilian Butt Augmentation which involves taking flabby flesh from other parts of your body, and adding it to your butt to make it bigger. I guess this is what Remy believes Nicki Minaj did.A couple more lines were thrown at Nicki which could have been for any other female rapper out there, but who else is really out there? Asides Iggy Azalea, and I don't think Iggy is into competing with anyone.Check out this lines..."They say she nice, but reminisce nicer/I can feel a tension, please don't hype her/tell her stay in her lane before I side-swipe her/dropping that bird shit, I hate to windshield wipe her."
Let's see how this turns out in the next couple of weeks. I'm hungry for some beef right now, and I know it would be interesting if Remy and Nicki go at each other. Nicki is about to drop an album, and Remy just got home from serving six years and is looking for a deal, so it would be good sport for them both.

Top 5 Hottest Female Rappers Right Now (2014)
Even though the majority of rappers in Hip Hop are male, there are still a pocket of very good female rappers to look out for. I want to use this post to recognize those female rappers that keep doing their thing, even though they get little support in this male dominated music genre. Before I go on with the list, I would like to clarify something; this is a list about the top five HOTTEST female rappers RIGHT NOW. I put emphasis on what this list is all about, so words don't get misconstrued. This list has nothing to do with who was the hottest at one time, or who is currently the most lyrical. This list is about the hottest; that means, the hottest in the mainstream...the hottest on radio, online, and TV.
Okay, we got that out the way, let's proceeds.
5. Nitty Scott, MC
Nitty Scott is a Brooklyn, New York native, who became popular after she was featured in 2011's B.E.T Cypher. I can never forget the feeling I hard when she dropped her verse; I was like, 'where has this girl been?' And to top it up, she is a very beautiful girl. Since her Cypher appearance at BET, she has released a couple of mixtapes, and an EP. She is still an independent artist, but she has a buzz online. She is super lyrical and poetic too. I don't even look at Rapsody like a female rapper, and this has nothing to do with looks or anything, but the fact that she just drops her bars without that cadence that most female rappers like to use. The North Carolina rapper is definitely on the rise. She's signed to veteran producer, 9th Wonder's Jamla Records, and she is associated with DJ Premier.
3. Angel Haze
The first song I heard from Angel Haze was her version of Eminem's Cleaning Out My Closet. That song was so intense, and the way she weaved her words to tell her story just got me hooked. Her biggest strength is in getting personal with her lyrics. The Brooklyn rapper is signed to Republic Records/Island Records, and she dropped her debut album, Dirty Gold last year.

Everyone knows Nicki Minaj. In fact, since she blew up on the scene in 2009, she has not had any competition with any other female rappers in Hip Hop. She had to go wake up the Lioness, the original Queen B, Lil Kim, as that was her only worthy opponent. Nicki Minaj is the most success female rapper of the last five years, no competition at all. She is signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money Records, and Birdman's Cash Money Records. She is currently prepping the release of her third studio album (Pink Print), and has a hit single out right now- Pills & Potion. If not for the person at number One, she would be at that position without even trying.

Honestly, I remember getting hard-ons watching Salt-N-Pepa videos back when I was a young'n. lol! The first female rap group that got international recognition. They were sexy, they could rap, and had some message in their music too. Maybe the message was mostly for females like them, but they sure had message in their music. The trio was a force to recon with in the late 80s and early 90s; Salt and Pepa on the mic, and DJ Spinderella doing her thing. Their most popular hits were Whatta Man, Shoop, and Let's Talk About Sex. Their fourth album, Very Necessary (1993) is still one of the most successful rap albums by a female (or female rap group) in Hip Hop history, selling over five million copies to date. In a recent interview with Billboard, Salt 'N' Pepa spoke about their past success and impact in Hip Hop.
"We were owning it and inspiring a lot of women," Spinderella said. "A lot of our music had a message. And the thing that really motivated us during that time was how many women would come to us and say we inspired them. We were more encouraged by the fact that we were actually impacting a generation of women. We were really feeding off of that.
