Is Eminem Better Than Biggie?
Is Eminem better than Biggie? Some would say this question is blasphemous, but some people do believe Eminem is lyrically better than the late Notorious B.I.G. Well, if it is based on just one aspect of their rapping skills, then I think we might have an interesting discussion here.
Female rapper from New Jersey, Lady Luck once said she believed Eminem is better than Biggie, and she was greatly criticized for that statement. In a recent Interview with DJ VLAD, she spoke on what she really meant.

Pics: Missy Elliot's Cars
Missy Elliot posted this pic of her cars on Twitter a few days back, with the caption, " My cars was so filthy so since today is a nice day I'll grab a bucket and get to washing." I almost forgot how caked-up Missy is. She still is the best selling solo female rapper in Hip Hop history, with a total of 5 platinum selling albums.

Real Reason Behind Jay Z and Solange Elevator Altercation
Last month, a video of Solange violently attacking Jay Z in an elevator hit the Internet. There was no audio in the three minute long video, and it left people wondering what could have made Solange attack Jay Z like that. People started making up stories. Some said Jay Z had been flirting with a certain Rachel Roy; some said Jay had said something disrespectful to Solange in public; and some went on to say Solange has mental issues, and that that was the reason Beyonce didn't do anything when the fight was going on. I didn't believe any of those stories, I just knew it must have been an infidelity issue on the side of Jay Z...He didn't hit Solange back cos he was guilty. I guess my thoughts were on point. A certain female rapper named LIV has come forward to claim responsibility for being the cause of the elevator altercation between Jay Z and Beyonce.
The girl, LIV did a special for Life & Style magazine and claimed Solange had seen Jay Z flirting with her, which made her attack Jay Z like that. She went on her Instagram three days ago and said the story Life & Style magazine published was true, and that she really was the cause of the Jay Z and Solange elevator fight.
“This mag got the story 100% correct Jay and I met on the set of a commercial…. He fell heads over heels for me but I chose not to pursue him out of respect for Bey…. Not too many women show each other that kind of honor…. So no, I did not sleep WITH JAY Z…. But YEs, I could have #RespectMyHustle#REALwomanSH*T #lifeandstylemagazine”

Hate her or love her, you can't deny the fact that Nicki Minaj has done a lot in her 5 year run in Hip Hop. She has leveraged on her popularity as a rapper, and has diversified into other industries like the movie industry, and the fashion world. In her recent interview with I-D Vice, she spoke on what she would like to be remembered for.
"I want to be a mogul; I want to have multiple businesses where I can employ hungry people, people who are eager to learn. I want to have foundations where I can put people through college; I want my Barbs to be smart, not to be crazy and foolish and not to depend on boys. I want to do something to inspire people all around the
world. I'd like to be remembered as one of the great rappers and a mogul, an actress, a mother and a wife."
That's cool. She has achieved a lot so far, and I wish her all the best with her next business moves.

Sasha P Celebrates 30th Birthday
Storm Records rapper, Sasha P recently turned 30, and she celebrated her birthday last week Friday in Lagos. As far as I'm concerned, this is the only female rapper in Nigeria right now...all the rest have either turned to R&B singers or Ragga stars, or they have faded off the scene. Happy birthday, Sasha! Check out the pictures from the day below. Pics with her fellow musicians, and other celebrities.

Iggy Azalea Speaks on Not Being Fully Accepted By Fashion World
Iggy Azalea is a rapper first, but is also a fashion person. She has modeled for a lot of fashion houses in the last couple of years, and wants to go deeper into fashion. Like Kanye West, she says the fashion world gives the rappers trying to get into industry a tough time. She took time to explain why this is so during her recent interview on Hot 105.1's The Breakfast Club Show.
"I feel like the fashion world...they love Rap music, but then I feel like...The designers love rap music and they love creative things. But then, I feel like the people that kind of write about fashion or report about fashion are more straitlaced, and not so...they are not edgy. The people that are actually getting the crazy inspirations and making this clothing stuff, they are actually kind of like, actually creatives, and they understand that (Rap music). But the people that write about it, I feel like kinda sometimes, don't get it so it's weird like, what...the press really does influence sort of like people's perception or views of what they think of you."
On other news, Iggy dropped her debut album, The New Classic last week, and it is currently at the number 3 spot on Billboard's 'Top 200 Albums Chart.' The album sold 52,000 copies after a week in stores. Congrats to her.

Missy Elliot Speaks on Absence From Hip Hop Scene
Missy use to be one the hottest female rappers back in the late 90s, and early 2000s. She was revolutionary with her flow, production, and with her dance steps in music videos. But, for sometime now, she has been off the hip hop scene. Her last album was The Cookbook, from 2005. In a recent interview with Yahoo, she spoke on what's been happening with her career.
"When I create something, it’s gotta be special and it can’t just be to throw something out there because I feel like I’m Missy. I gotta feel like what I’m giving the fans is 100 percent and that it’s game-changing. I don’t just throw out microwave records.

When you are creating to the magnitude that I try to create, your brain is like a computer sometimes. It needs to refresh...Your brain needs time to refresh...Just being inspired by things is what I’m grabbing for because music is different now. Not to say that it’s bad. It’s just different now, so I’m just trying to make sure that what I give is 100 percent because I know that expectations is high from my fans and it’s high of myself."
Weird MC Comments On Marital Status
Weird MC is one of the oldest FemCee's in the Nigerian music industry. I remember her big hit, Allen Avenue from when I was in primary school, some 20 or so years ago. You can't think of Nigerian Hip Hop and not think about her, cos she was the first doing it, regardless of gender. Weird MC really is weird, and her androgynous looks make people question her sexuality. Not much is known about that. She recently dropped two new tracks, Ijoya (Remix) and Fiesta, and HipHop World Magazine caught up with her while she was promoting the singles. When she was asked whether they were any plans of marriage in the near future, she said...
“No, I don’t have time for that. It’s not even in my plans. Right now I’ve got an album coming out, so that’s not in my plans.”

Eve Names Her "Top 5 Dead Or Alive"
In a recent interview with SOHH.com, female rapper Eve let the world know who she considers Top 5 Dead Or Alive.
The Roots. I'd definitely say The Roots. I know that's so Philly all day. That's horrible. I'm being bias but definitely The Roots.
Mos Def. I think Mos Def goes in there. He really deserves it.
Talib Kweli.
I have to put Mos Def and Talib Kweli both in there. They both deserve
it. Those guys both are the ones that come to my mind right now.
Eve. I would definitely put myself in there. I didn't know we could induct ourselves, so of course me.
Queen Latifah.
What about Queen Latifah? She has to go in there. You have to think
about artists like Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, where are the females [in
the SOHH Hall of Fame?] I have Queen Latifah on there because she's
Queen Latifah. There's not much more you can say about that. She was out
when I was a kid-kid. And her career, still, has transcended. Now she's
in the movies but you can't take away what she's done, especially
because she's a female in hip-hop. She was definitely an influence for
me.
