Ruggedman Says He Is Not Dating Maheeda

A few days ago, Ruggedman and model, Maheeda both posted the picture you are seeing above on their Instagram pages. People took on look at their poses in pic and concluded the two most be dating. Ruggedman has spoken on this, saying he and the model are just friends, and nothing more. He even went as far as letting the world know that he has known her long before she recently became famous.

Below are Ruggedman's words according to lawrenciaudife.com

New Music: Agidi (Ruggedman feat. Wande Coal)

Nigerian veteran rapper, Ruggedman is trying to make a comeback with this new one, Agidi which features Wande Coal. It is a lovely dance track. I love the short last verse from Ruggedman.

Ruggedman Updates Fans on What He is Working On

Nigerian vateran rapper has been away for a while, but he has something brewing right now. In this recent interview with NET, he spoke on what he has been working on the last couple of months, and what people should be expecting from him in a few weeks.

"As I speak to you I am about to drop a new song titled ‘Agidi’ featuring Wande Coal. It’s produced by Tyrone. The song is so hot that somehow, someone stole Wande Coals part of the song and leaked it on the Internet. I felt bad at first because it is the 1st song I am releasing after a long time, but instead of the leak working against me, it worked for me. The leaked part went viral and since they had gotten a taste of the new Ruggedman song, It got them clamouring for the complete song. It is being mixed by Sheyman and it will drop very soon. I am also getting ready to shoot the video for it. Also dropping on TV real soon is the video for ‘8Figures’ featuring Reminisce, directed by Squareball films. Again part of what I have been up to is manufacturing new wears for my 20th Sept Wear clothing line. I am making them from outside the country because I want the professional standard finishing people are used to. I have snapbacks, t-shirts and hoodies. I have been having meetings with top online stores and I am happy to say they will be handling sales and distribution. I am actually re-launching with 8Figures hoody’s, t-shirts and snapbacks and they will be available for purchase from online stores from the day 8Figures video is released...."

Great. Ruggedman has always been more than just a rapper. His business game has always been top notch.

Ruggedman Shooting 5 Videos Between June-July 2014

Ruggedman has been off the scene for a while, but it seems he is planning to take over the Nigerian airways in the months to come. In a recent interview with HipTV, he spoke on his label, Rugged Records shooting 5 videos between June-July. Below are his words.

"I'll tell you one thing straight-up, exclusively. Ruggedman...Rugged Records is shooting five videos between June and July...You're going to get Ruggedman feat. Reminisce; 8 Figures. You're gonna get the video for Embryo's Peace song. You are going to see the video for the song with Wande Coal. And then we got two more videos."

I wish him all the best. The Nigerian music scene has a lot of opportunities right now...even for rappers. Ruggedman has always been capable of doing the type of Hip Hop that works in Nigeria, so I know he would have no problem in bringing his dreams to fruition.

The Best Rapper in Nigeria

Who is the best rapper in Nigeria? This post is going to be like a question- i am asking you all, and i would like to get your views on the topic. But, i would give my analysis of all the rappers worth mentioning.

Starting off with no order in mind, i would like to talk about Mode 9. When it comes to doing the real hip hop, real rap, no one comes close to this guy in Nigeria. But this has limited his growth, and success, because the masses don't want to know how intelligent you are with words, they just want you to make them dance. And contrary to what a lot people think, mode 9 is not really a conscious rapper- he is good with the word play, in fact you can call him a beast on the mic, but he is not a deep rapper.

For his passion alone, i can give Naeto C an A in the hip hop school. Naeto is the next rapper i am going to be talking about- i think he is brilliant on the mic. It is evident, in his rap style that he was highly influenced by American rapper, T.I. And you can say also say he has a little of Jay-Z in him. Naeto might not be heavy with the the metaphors and wordplay, but his delivery makes up for all that. He ain't super-lyrical, but he got a super-flow.

Next up is Ruggedman. This man brought real hip hop to the country, or should i say, he helped real hip hop gain the acceptance it is enjoying now. Before him, there just a lot of crappy rappers. He has enjoyed a lot of success, and if you had asked me 5 years ago who the best nigerian rapper was, i would have said ruggedman, but things have changed, there are now a lot of great rappers on the scene. He is the type of rapper that does not form up stories in his raps and does not talk a lot of bullshit. His voice is clear and you can hear every word he raps, and that is the very quality i respect in him.

M.I blew up last year, and a lot of people are giving him the position of the best rapper in Nigeria. I used to be one of them till he started doing music just to sell records. It is very evident from his recent works that he has dumbed down his raps to appeal to the masses. His debut album, "talk about it" was a huge success without going commercial, so i wonder why he had to go that route.

Terry Tha Rapman. I think this dude is the perfect blend between the streets and the clubs. This dude can make a party jam and still drop dope lines. He can appeal to the masses and still be intelligent on songs. I think with the right marketing he could rise higher up the ladder.

Okay, those are the names that are worth mentioning, and based on impact, success, and rap style, the crown still goes to m.i till someone else proves he can have a better balance. If i didn't mention any rapper, it is because they have not been relevant for a long time, or that they have deviated from rapping.

Okay, i have done my analysis, i would now like to hear from you guys- name who you think is the best and give a reason.

RUGGED MAN, PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER 1.

Ruggedman, a nigerian front runner rapper, is being attacked from front, back, left, right and center. He came in the game with a diss track aimed at a couple of artist that were dishing out low standards music, according to him, and he came to set the records straight. And i have to agree with him, that after he addressed the issue of mediocrity in the nigerian music industry, things have gotten better, quality of music has improved. But i think right now, people are attacking him for going against his words and dishing out the same low standards he fought against.
I sit in my shop all day and i hear people, customers, friends, aquintances say less than degrading things about rugged and i feel what went wrong. Modenine recently dropped an album that had a diss track directed at rugged, and i can say it was heavy. The track was set to assasinate his character, sort of what jay-z tried to do to nas in 2001. And recently i heard that fellow rapper "illbliss" also has some words for rugged on his upcoming album.
A lot of people are saying rugged went wrong after he made the track "baraje", and got more popularity and fame, and money from the song. He got more shows because of the commerciality of the song, and has been trying to re-create the song ever since. We know the music business is a business like any other and the main purpose, asides the love for music, for getting into it should be to make a living. So rugged is saying, we all know he can rap, as he has shown us earlier on in his career, but it's time to make some money from the rap game.
