Nigerian ace music producer, Don Jazzy still has his deal with Kanye's G.O.O.D Music, even though he and D'Banj have parted ways. The Don went on to form his Mavin Records imprint, and continue building on the careers of Dr. Sid, Wande Coal, Da Prince and the new addition to the family, Tiwa Savage. Money is still rolling in for him, and you know Nigerian musicians pay cash for their cars, no leasing shit! So, I decided to let people into the cars you can find in Don Jazzy's garage.



He has a black Cadillac Escalade ($70,000- N11,200,000) with his name on the number plate; he has a black Bentley Continental Flying Spur ($185,000- N29,600,000); he owns a black Range Rover Sports ($60,000- N9,600,000), and also a Porsche 911 Carrera ($84,000- N13,440,000).

The long awaited album is one of the most anticipated album in recent times...I think the last album that got people anticipating like this was M.I's first album (Talk About It) in 2008. As much as I can't wait to listen to this album, I wish she hadn't featured Don Jazzy on three tracks off the album. Don Jazzy is the C.E.O of Mavin Records, and although he appeared on a lot of tracks with D'Banj in the past, he isn't a real musician, and I don't think his appearance on any Tiwa song will enhance the output. But, I might be wrong. I might be wrong. Anyway, Tiwa is super-talented, and passionate about the music she makes, so I am sure this album is going to be a great one. Once Upon A Time will be released under 323 Entertainment/Mavin Records on June 14. Mark your calendars and make sure you go out and support her on that day; she put in a lot of work to make this album together.

Dr. SID Shows-Off New House

Nigerian musians are doing big things this days. Just yesterday, WizKid showed of his Porsche Panamera, and now Mavin Record's Dr. Sid just revealed pics of his new home in Lekki. From the look of things, it is still under construction, but it is 90% finished. That's great. I'm happy for him.

Tracklist Of D'Prince "Frenzy" Album

One of the rappers from the Mo Hits crew, and now Mavin Records crew, D'Prince is finally dropping his debut album tomorrow. The tracklist hit the internet a couple of hours ago, and I am shocked at howmany tracks are on the album. I think 25 tracks is a lot. I know he doesn't rap much any longer, so, maybe that might explain it. Between his genius brother's (Don Jazzy) production skills, and his hunger for fame, I think we would definitely get a lot of club bangers on this album.

Solar Plexus- Album Review

I made sure i waited a week before reviewing this album, because there was so much talk about it, and i didn't want the comments i was reading to cloud my personal judgement. I was met with mixed reviews while trying to get people's opinion of the album online; there were mostly people with biased judgments. And i am talking in both ways; fans were praising the album, because they were happy Don Jazzy had come back fast after the Mo Hits break-up...and haters, that were not ready to see anything good from Don Jazzy after the split were condeming it.






I took my time, and i listened to the album yesterday, and today. I think the only problem i have with it is the title. I would have prefered if it was titled "Dance Tracks and Techno" or something like that. The first song after the intro, I'm A Mavin is one of the best on the entire album. It is great, not only because of the beat, but because all the Mavin's were on it, and they handled their parts well. Tiwa's solo, Omo Ga comes after this, and it has a really melodious humming at the background that makes the song sound really cool. Personally though, i think miss savage tried to do a blend of D Banj and Durella on the first verse of the song,  but she was more in her element on the second verse.


Yolo, by Dr Sid is next, and it is just a typical Nigerian Dance Track. The lyrics are very light, and just put in place to fill the space between the chorus. See Me Ri by Wande Coal is next, and it is just brilliant. This song is evidence of this man's incredible talent. The style he used on this song is foreign to what people are used to hearing from him, but his creativity oozes out through the song. A really great song if you would ask me. Take Banana by D'Prince is another Nigerian Dance Track, and with a cool video and constant airplay, it would definitely grow on people.


The two tracks that follow, CPR from Dr. Sid and Forever by Wande Coal are Techno tracks. I think this is where Don Jazzy and the Mavin alstars lost Nigerians...or most of their fans. I love Techno, and i think this two tracks are great techno tracks, but this is definitely not the view of a lot of Nigerians. I read a lot of complaint from people online about this two tracks. Nigerians want to dance to the typical Naija style dance tracks, or they want to listen to a political conscious track; not too many have lached on the techno vibe.


Why You Over There by D'Prince would definitelyhave been better with D Banj on it; that's no question. in fact, there are a great deal of tracks on this album you would here and your mind would just imagine what D Banj would do to it.  Chocolate from DR. Sid is a potential club banger; just watch out for it. Forever, like every other Wande Coal track on this album is just amazing...or should i say Amaving. Amarachi, the last track on the album has an infuition of Igbo to it. i can't stress howmuch D Banj would have made this track a better one. There is just something about the energy D Banj brings to a song.


It's obvious that Don Jazzy wanted to make Tiwa Savage's presence felt on the album, that's why he made her voice-over all the tracks at the beginning, but i would have prefered if she had at least 3 solo tracks on the album; Wande Coal, D'Prince and DR. Sid all had 3 solo's. Asides from that, i think the album is great for what Don Jazzy tried to achieve. I think he shouldn't have rushed to put it out. If he had dropped two singles from it, built momentum, and then dropped it, people would have appreciated it more. But i know people's opinions will change when videos start dropping from tracks off this album.


 If i was to rate this album,I would give it 4 Stars out of 5.

Don Jazzy used twitter to announce to the world yesterday that he would he had formed a new label, from the now defunct Mo Hits records; and the name was Mavin records. The label consist of D Prince, Dr Sid, Don Jazzy himself, Wande Coal, and the shocker of all- Tiwa Savage. He also informed people that they would be dropping a new group album titled Solar Plexus today, and it is now online for free download.


There are a lot mixed comments and tweets about it, i have not heard it yet, so i can't say much. Below is the tracklist tot he album, and the download link-
