Christian rapper, Lecrae drops a new one titled Nuthin. On this one, he is speaking on the redundant nature and backwardness of black rappers that rap about the same thing all the time...money, hoes, cars, clothes, and drugs. Give it a listen, you'd learn a thing or two. It's an uptempo song.

Lecrae Names eLZhi The Most Underrated Rapper In The Game

Gospel rapper, Lecrae has named Slum Village rapper, elLZhi the most underrated rapper in the game. I'm sure half my readers don't even know who elLZhi is. If you don't, you need to check that dude out if you like substance, and not just gimmick rap. You really need to check the guy out. He made a tribute to Nas's Illmatic album, and titled the mixtape Elmatic...the ish is FIRE! From beginning to end. But as I said, if you like substance and some creativity with the rap music you listen to, then you should check him out. If not, don't bother, you wont understand the dude.

Off the top, I'm picking eLZhi from Slum Village for SOHH Underrated.

I think he's, for me, bar for bar, line for line, he's one of the best emcees that I've ever heard. I think cats don't even recognize or realize it. If you listen to a little eLZhi, you'll be blown away by his lyrical gymnastics.

Even before he was a part of Slum Village, Slum Village was just kind of featuring all kinds of Detroit cats and so you would just catch him featured on all kinds of stuff. You'd hear him on stuff with other guys from Detroit and you'd say, "Yo, who 'is' this cat? He's murdering it!" (sohh.com)

Lecrae

Lacrae is an American Gospel Rapper; just like many other rappers, he grew up in a poor community, and rapping became a means for him to get away from the life nf the streets. His real name is Lacrae Moore, and he presently resides in Atlanta G.A. He was raised by his mother, and they moved around a lot; this gives him the versatility that is evident in his music. At some point in his early life, San Diego, Dallas, and Denver were places he called home.

He co-founded Reach Records, which he released his first album through, at the age of 25.

Real Talk, his first album, was released in 2004; although it did not debut on the billboard top 200, it debuted at number 29 on Billboard Gospel Rap category.

His second album dropped 2 years after; "After The Music Stops" dropped on august 15 august, 2006. The lead single was titled "Jesus Muzik", and the album was nominated for a Dove award.

By the time his third album dropped, he was already a household name. Rebel, his 3rd studio album charted on the Billboard 200 albums, which was a first for him. The album entered at number 60. The main single off the album, "don't waste your life", also did well on radio. The album spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard christian rap album charts.

Rehab is his 4th album, which dropped on sept 28 2010. It debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 16. It sold 28,000 copies in its first week in stores, and the lead single off the album is a track titled "just like you".

There is talks of a Rehab: The Overdose, which is scheduled to drop in January of 2011.


I think anybody, regardless of faith, should get all Lacrae's collections. He is a talented rapper with a message to go with it.
