Killer Mike Says He Was Selling Cocaine at 16

Atlanta rapper, Killer Mike made this revelation recently during his his interview during a radio interview (on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club show). He was talking about how his 16 years old son wanted to go into real estate business to start making money, and he said at his son's age (16), he was already on the streets selling Cocaine.

"At my child's age (16), I was selling cocaine. You know what I mean. And that's dramatic, and it sounds good on rap records, but that's no place for a child to be. You know what I mean. By 12-13 years old, I had already figured out getting on a bus, going to a neighborhood, trapping off, getting back home...I don't want that for our children, and the only way that can happen is if we start to be raising confident children, who are not insecure because they don't have Nikes. You know what I am saying. If we start raising the children to have a perspective to understand that I can get a lawnmower and cut grass all summer, or I could shovel snow, and I could start to accumulate wealth."

King Sunny Ade Speaks On Ex Guitarist's Drug Smuggling Issue

About 2 weeks ago, Mr Fatoke Abiodun, an ex guitarist of the legendary juju musiain, King Sunny Ade was caught trying to smuggle 1.575kg of Cocaine overseas from Nigeria at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos. The man had claimed that what pushed him to do this was cos he had been having money problems since he left Sunny Ade's band..making it look like he didn't have anything to show for for his time with the King of Juju music's band.

I pay salaries to the members of staff of my company. As for my band members, we share money based on what we make at every show where we perform. I would first of all, remove the money for taxes, equipment we used and other stuff connected to the performance. Thereafter, the remaining money is shared among all of us. Before now, I advised my band members that we should have a common purse, where we should leave money for welfare. But they refused and insisted that everything should be shared.

If he and the others had agreed to my advice then, he wouldn’t have had any reason to say he didn’t get any severance allowance,”

“But he worked for me for 30 years. Those who have even worked for me for two years are so well off now. How can he say he didn’t have anything after 30 years? Are those there now complaining?

“And to set the records straight, I didn’t sack him, he left on his own. We came back from an international show and he told me he wanted to start his own band and said I should assist him.

“Before I knew what was happening, he went to Ibadan with my guitar without my knowledge in order to start his own band. I told him to return my guitar and when he didn’t, I had to involve the police. That was how he left,” KSA added.

He said he had not seen Abiodun since he left his band in 2007.

“Anybody who is involved in any crime has it in him. It is not proper for anybody to say that it was a condition that led him to a crime. He was among those in the high category in my band. It is surprising that he claimed he had nothing. I have never seen or heard from him since he left my band.

“In the 30 years he worked for me, he never exhibited such criminal attitude. I am always concerned about the people travelling with me. I make sure we all travel light and get whatever we need for the performance in the country we are going.

“I have never seen cocaine. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and we are always checked thoroughly at the airport here and at the airport over there,” he said. (lindaikeji.blogspot.com) 

Legendary Nigerian Reggae artist, Majek Fashek Says He Still Uses Cocaine

In a recent interview, Majek Fashek (Legendary Nigerian reggae artist of the 80s and 90s) recalls how the media slandered his image in the past. But, even at that, he says he would never fight them, cos they help in a way, to get news about artists out there...whether good or bad. And he then spoke on the fact that he still uses Cocaine for inspiration as a musician. Read his words below.

"People must talk. But they make you popular; that's the truth. You cannot fight the media. They are the ones that will tell people what is going on, so I cannot fight the media. They said I'm crazy, I use cocaine. Well, I still use Cocaine. I dey blow my nose, i dey smoke igbo. As I speak to you, I have Cocaine in my pocket and in my house. I still use am. I can't stop. How will you play music with a normal eye? You can't be a good musician playing without getting high. Pastors dem dey high too. The truth is that you can't be on the human level and give the message. The humans are looking up to you, so you must be super-human to live up to their expectations."

Okay, I'm going to break your hearts and tell you I agree with him...at least 80% of what he said. In the last 5 years, I have done extensive research on talented, and artistic people, and I have to tell you that you really have to be high to perform at your peak. Hold up, don't shout yet. I said you have to be "high," it doesn't mean you have to be high on weed or cocaine.



Let me break down the explanation. What happens when a person gets high? You tap into the Universal mind...the mind that knows all, and you get inspiration, and "above-human-reasoning" messages from there. In Napoleon Hills classic book, "Think And Grow Rich," he lists a couple of things that can connect you with the Universal mind/Infinite Intelligence, i.e things that can get you high. Stimuli that would get you high include the following- Music (listening to music); A burning desire for fame, power, or financial gain; Fear; Narcotics & Alcohol; love; high sex drive; Mutual suffering, such as that experienced by people who are persecuted; Auto-suggestion...This will do.




Now, lets carry out a very practical exercise, and identify some of Nigeria's most successful musicians, and pinpoint what "gets them high". Tuface- Weed (Narcotics) &; High sex drive; King Sunny Ade- High sex drive, and love), Fela- weed (narcotics) and high sex drive; D Banj- weed, high sex drive, and a burning desire for fame...; Sammy Okposun- high sex drive.



 Okay, let's go to America. Elvis Presley- narcotics; R Kelly- high sex drive; Bob Marley- Narcotics, mutual suffering, such as that experienced by people who are persecuted, and high sex drive; Nas- weed; 50 Cent- A burning desire for fame, power or financial gain: Jay-Z- same stimuli as 50 Cent; Michael Jackson- Fear (from Joe Jackson's beating), music, auto-suggestion...then later, drugs. You can do your on fill in the gap with the other musicians I didn't mention. This is  a truth...it's just unfortunate that some go to much to the other side and lose it.
