Eminem Recalls Almost Making Diss Song For Lil Wayne and Kanye West

Between 2006-2008, Eminem totally disappeared off the Hip Hop scene. He was dealing with some personal issues, and was just not putting out any music. This was the period that Lil Wayne and Kanye West rose to be two of the biggest names on the Hip Hop scene. In a recent interview on Power 106 (a Los Angeles radio station), Eminem admitted to once almost dissing Lil Wayne and Kanye West.

"I felt so bad about myself and the music that I was creating, that I felt like I started to turn into a hater. And it wasn’t just—you know, singling Kanye [West] and [Lil] Wayne out at that time period. I mean they were the ones who were the killing it the most to me. And it hurt. I’d pop the CD in and be like, ‘Fuck man, I’m not doing this no more.’ I felt like I came very close to like, for me it would have been career suicide because I felt like, ‘I should make a song just dissing everybody who's doing in it the game right now.'" (Power 106 interview)

Hmm! I wonder how that would have turned out. There are a lot of people who would have loved that, cos they believe Hip Hop should be competitive. I do believe Hip Hop should be competitive, but I don't believe that competitive nature should be fueled by jealousy...and I also don't feel it should be forced.
