It is no news that Rick Ross was a Correctional Officer (C.O) for about a year and the half in his late teens. And this news came into light during his beef with 50 cent. Although he survived that dent on his image, people still haven't forgotten, and still make fun of him on the Internet all the time. Of cos Ross has grown over the years, being now worth over $50 million, he says he took the job to survive, and that he would never want to change that part of his past.
During his interview on MTV, he was asked about about his past a Correctional Officer and he said...
"I wouldn't change nothing 'cause to me it's about who Rozay is. It's about me. Anywhere I go, when I step in the room, I put it down. People know it's authentic right here. They know it's real. So it was nothing that I was personally threatened with. I was just ready to move on. Let's go get this money. Let's make this music. And right now, to feed my family, I'd do it again. To feed my kids, I'd go get it. We gon' get it. My whole team gon' go get it. We gon' win. And that's with everything we ever did. I been winning, though."
On the first song on Mastermind, Rich Is Gangster, he rapped..."Feds tore the crew apart/That's why I had to play my part, nigga / That wasn't me, it was just a job, nigga." Referring to his C.O past as just being a job.
If it was just a job, then why deny it at first? A big fan of this dude but he can be full of ish at times
ReplyDeleteHaha! But you got to know that he was caught unaware with that pic, and he signed a contract with Def Jam to uphold a character...you don't expect him to come clean without first speaking with the people financing him.
