Kendrick Comments On Nas Co-Sign

A couple of days ago, Nas was asked what his favourite album of 2012 was, and he pointed in the direction of Kendrick Lamar's official debut, "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" album. He said he was really glad Kendrick made an album like that, which was very different from what everyone else was doing, and that the album gives him hope for Hip-hop.

Kendrick caught wind of the props, and had this to say-

"That's crazy, I didn't hear that," he said. "That's amazing, just off the fact that it's Nas. You can hear the influence [of him] on my storytelling. For somebody who's been a lead player in this game for so many years, a veteran as far as longevity and skill, that's an accomplishment just on words alone." (FUSE)

Definitely. You can here that Nas influence on story telling tracks like Art Of Peer Pressure and Mad City...great story telling songs. Very nice narrative album altogether. One of my favs of 2012.
