Mase Signing With Rick Ross's MMG Label
Recently, the word out was that Mase was in the studio recording with Rick Ross and French Montana. He had also earlier been in the studio working with r&b singer, Omarion. People started asking questions- Is Mase planning another comeback? I guess so. And, according to reliable sources, he is signing with MMG (Mayback Music Group), owned by none other than Rick Ross.
Back in my high-school days, Mase was the ish. I Remember having a Harlem World tape that my friends and i played on our battery operated tape deck in the dormitory. Back in the mid 90s, Mase and Puff Daddy (Diddy) ran the game. After Biggie died; they dropped hit after hit after hit. I guess that's why Jay-Z said on his A Star Is Born track that "Nobody could touch him when puff had it." That's a fact. I remember a week back in the 90s where, on the Billboard singles chart, the number 1, 2 and 3 tracks were Mo Money, Can't Nobody Hold Me Down, and I'll be missing you Puffy was untouchable back then, and Mase was his right hand man.

An insider within Maybach Music Group told The Source the following information:
“Yes, I think its safe to say Omarion is MMG.” As the Maybach Music empire continues to evolve, it may not end there. Seems as if there is another offer on the table, I don’t want to let no cats out the bag but we’ll see what’s good with Ma$e.”
When pressed about what the roster may look like in the upcoming months, “As far as newest members Omarion and shout out to Ma$e if he wants to get down with this movement then we’ll see what happens.”
With Kanye West using two Ma$e lines in his new smash “Way Too Cold” (“TheraFlu”), it’s pretty safe to say that Ma$e is a hot commodity right now. He IS your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper, after all. Well, at least he’s Kanye’s self-proclaimed favorite rapper.
If Mase is ready to give this shot all his got, i think he can get a buzz again. He can still tour off his hits from the 90s, so he is still marketable. People are saying he has been gone too long; i don't think that really matters. I heard his last album from 2004 (Welcome Back), when he returned to the game, and i think he still got it. And i heard some underground tracks he dropped when he was down with G-Unit back in 2005/2006 era, so i think he is still good.
I think its a good move overall. The two parties involved get to gain something. Rick Ross is a workaholic, and he will make sure Mase gets something out with no delays. And in return, more money to his empire...and more reputation also.
