What Did You Think of The B.E.T Cyphers

The Annual B.E.T Awards was held a couple of days ago, and the high point for me has always been the Cyphers, where a group of rappers take turn in dropping freestyle verses. I loved the one for this year, cos they were a couple of surprises; a French rapper; chris brown rapping, Estelle rapping, and a new female rapper by the name of Nitty Scott. I have to say Nitty Scott's freestyle was one of the highlights for me, because it was something new, although she is really old-school with the flow...it just was something i hadn't heard in a while.

There were different batches, and Nitty Scott was paired up with Lacrae (the gospel rapper), estelle, and the french rapper (Soprano). Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Reak, and two chains where in the same batch; Chris Brown, Tyga, Kevin Mcall, and Ace Hood were in the same batch; Tech n9ne, B.O.B, Kendrick Lamar, Big Krit and Machine Gun Kelly were in the same batch; And the MMG boys also had there's- Pill, Meek Mill, Wale Rick Ross, and newcomer Stalley; And the one with Dom Kennedy, Blind Furry, Skillz and the Lady of Rage: then the shady 2.0 group which had Eminem, the whole slaughter house, and Yelawolf. I think this was my favourite, then the one with Nitty Scott follows.

They were all great Cyphers, and i would like to mention who and who i think stood out in their individual groups. In the Nitty Scott group, everybody was outstanding, except maybe Estelle. She was okay, but not spectacular. In the cypher with busta and luda, busta was cool, but it was almost like he was forcing it. Luda disappointed me, he didn't really say anything heavy. I guess that's what happens when you divide your attention between acting and rapping. I felt reek the villan and two chains.

With the Shady 2.0 Cypher, in my opinion, Joe Budden stole the show. Eminem was vibrating like he was back on drugs again, and he was just paying to much attention to delivery, and not even really rhyming to the beat. That was the same with Crooked 1...i have heard better verses from crooked. Joell Ortitz did his thing...although it was a bit short, it was witty as usual. Yelawolf went first, and it was cool. Royce was cool too, but i still don't get the inclusion of Rihanna in his verse. I am sure i am missing something, cos everybody else seems to get the joke.

The Cypher with B.O.B and them was cool too, but Kendrick Lamar didn't come as hard as i thought. It was like his mind wasn't there, or he was nervous or something. Tech N9ne was cool with the delivery as usual, but Machine Gun Kelly had the best performance. B.O.B said some hot lines...some catchy lines. Big Krit was cool too...he went first, and said some really heavy noteworthy lines for a plain freestyle.

The one with the MMG boys was cool...but surprisingly, Rick Ross had the most impressive verse. I really thought the young'n would show some skills. My next best Cypher was the one with Dom Kennedy, Blind Fury, Lady of Rage and Skillz...i have to say that everybody killed it on this one. But, Skillz said some lines that are unforgettable...some shook value lines.

The one with Chris Brown was just aiight...it is funny that Chris had the best performance...and the Kevin McCall dude too was great. The Cypher with Nitty Scott, Soprano, Estelle, and Lacrae was also great. Nitty started off, then Lacrae came in with that crazy delivery. The french rapper (soprano), who also rapped in french was awesome with the delivery...Estelle was just okay.
