P Square Features T.I on New Song

Nigerian superstar duo have made International collaborations with Akon, Rick Ross, and now T.I. They are affiliated with Akon's Konvict Records, so it is easier for them to get this international connects. They are currently in Atlanta (U.S.A) shooting the video for the collaboration with T.I. The title of the song is yet to be known. Check out the pics from the video shoot below.

Nice. I like that they keep putting Nigeria on the world music map. But T.I is fresh o! I mean compared to our heroes. Even though these dudes are millionaires too, they don't look as good as T.I in these pics they took together. Life is harsher in Nigeria. lol!

One Half of P Square Shows Of Car Collection

Akon's Konvict Music affiliates, P Square are really big in their home country Nigeria. They conquered West Africa, and then went on to conquer the whole of Africa. Now, they are working toward world dominance. One half of the group, Peter, yesterday posted pics of his car collection on Instagram. They include, a silver colored 2014 Bentley GT, a red Wrangler Jeep, a black BMW X5, and a couple of other exotic cars. Check out the pictures of the cars below.

P Square's Brother, Jude Okoye Speaks On Why They Had To Drop May D

Jude Okoye is the elder brother of the dynamic duo singing group, P Square, and he is also the C.E.O of their record label, Square Records. They put a young and talented singer on in 2011 named May D, and just when it seemed he was going to be the next biggest star in the country, May D was dropped from the label. People couldn't understand what went wrong, cos this guy was super talented, and his chemistry with the twin brothers was great. Jude Okoye has come to set the record straight on why May D was dropped from Square Records...below is what he said in a recent interview-

"I don’t know about Peter and Paul but me personally I won’t sign any artiste until P-Square stops singing, that is the same thing I said when you asked me why I’m not shooting videos for other artistes, everyone that comes under this umbrella will start comparing.

Let me give you an example, one of the issues we face is that, when you bring in an upcoming artiste (MayD) who has not been invited to even play just one show and you've spent like 15 million Naira on that artiste without even signing like you said and the person wakes up to say he wants to have the car P-Square is driving, the house P-Square is living in, then you’ll wonder like wait a minute, even if I have all these things and I give him, am I motivating him? Am I giving him things that’ll make him hustle hard? If he has everything he wants will he still struggle?

So that’s one of the reasons I don’t want to, it’s kind of a human nature thing, once the person comes he’ll start asking ‘no be the same song dem dey sing I dey sing too? ‘The person won’t ask how long it took these guys to get this far and what it took to achieve all these things? The person will just be like ‘check level now, I shouldn't be roaming on the street, I should be maintaining, driving the same car and having big things’.

That’s the reason why in managerial aspect and even shooting videos, people will definitely want to compare, so because of that I made up my mind that I'm better off on my own. Giving you a car and a house is not the issue but when you don’t have anything now and you are demanding for these things, I don’t think if you have 1 million, I’ll be able to talk to you."





Well, Jude has a point, but I think they still could have worked things out. Dropping him without his consent was kind of childish if you ask me...very unprofessional. May D had to read about being dropped on the internet. I think there is more to this story. The rate at which May D rose was phenomenal, and I think he does deserve a car...maybe not a house, but he definitely deserved a car in his contract. He was already a star. And I am sure he wasn't asking for the same car P-Square was driving, Jude probably exaggerated on that one. Even when I was about to sign my artists back when I started a label in 2011, I was working on getting him a car. Not that he was already big or that I had hundreds of millions like P Square, but the car was for branding. How would it look if you saw a super star like May D in the same public transportation that you were in? Come on! He at least deserved a car. Because P Square went through a lot doesn't mean May D has to walk the streets when he is already a star with two big radio hits. That is like my father telling me that I have to walk 2 kilometres to fetch water cos that's what he did growing up in the village. Anyway, this is just my personal opinion.


Well, maybe it is for the better...maybe May D would grow better and appreciate working hard for his own success. It is cool to see he bounced back after being dropped, and he came back with another hit- Gat Me High. I wish him all the best in his climb to the top.

What Do You Think of The P Square and Rick Ross Song/Video

I just got off Youtube after watching the remix video of P Square's Beautiful Oyinye which features Rick Ross, and I still have goose bumps all over. Being a Nigerian, and knowing how this dudes (P Square) started out, and where they are now is just really inspiring. They just singed a deal with Universal Records South African arm a couple of weeks ago, and everyone already knows they are going to be distributed throw Akon's Konvict Music in the states.

Part of the video was shot on a Yatch, and the quality is crispy clear as usual, a quality with most videos P Square shoot. I can't say any-more, I would take the fun out of seeing it the first time.

P-Square Now Singed To Universal Records

I have been saying it for a long time, and i will keep saying it till it becomes clear in people's eyes- Nigeria is about to take over the world. It's no question that Nigeria is the giant of Africa, but the recent international moves that there music artist have been making are ground shattering ones. First D Banj got signed to Mercury Records/Island Def Jam, now twin stars, P Square have just signed a deal with the South African arm of Universal Records. Nigerian Pop duo Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly know as P-square entered into a distribution deal with Universal Music, South Africa. The contract was signed and sealed this afternoon at a press conference in Johannesburg, South Africa and was announced via Peter’s twitter page. The music label will be releasing past and future projects with them. It will also handle all their digital and CD sales all over the globe.


The full details of the deal have not been disclosed but prior to this, P Square was signed to Akon’s Konvict Music. They will be releasing past and future projects under Konvict/ Universal.
