When Pac was at his peak, he formed a rap group called The Outlawz, and they all had names of presidents that rebelled against the Western world...Names like Hussein (Sadam Hussein), Ghadafi, and E.D.I Mean (Idi Amin). Even after Pac died in 1996, the group kept releasing music. Though they official broke up in 2011 to chase individual dreams, they are still collectively known as The Outlawz. It has been said by the Outlawz that Tupac was inspired to write Me and My Girlfriend (a song off his Makaveli album) after hearing Nas's I Gave You Power song. And now, in a recent interview with Hip Hop DX, E.D.I Mean (now known as EDIDON), says Tupac and the whole Outlawz were fans of Nas's music. 
"The thing is after the Makaveli album, he said that he got that shit out of his system and he wasn’t doing that anymore. He actually contacted Nas to let him know about theMakaveli album, and as a matter of fact, he was the only one that ‘Pac reached out to. He told him that the album was coming out and that he was going after him in it. They made peace at the MTV Awards—the meeting that his brother Jungle spoke about saying that we were scared and they had us under pressure. We had half of Jersey with us at the MTV Awards, and Nas was only with his brother and like two other dudes. I remember that meeting well because ‘Pac kept telling him, “Speak up! I can’t hear you.” Nas was saying in a low voice, “There’s no beef, you know what I’m saying?” ‘Pac was like, “Huh? I can’t hear you. Speak up!” They squashed it after that because ‘Pac was a Nas fan, as we all were"
A lot of people have spoken about that particular day Nas and Pac actually met face to face at MTV VMAs, and there are a lot of conflicting stories. Pac people say Pac had Nas shook, Nas people say Nas and his crew had Pac shook. I think posting what Snoop had to say is only right. Note that Pac and Snoop were homeboys signed to Death Row at the time, and Snoop has continued to enjoy commercial success over the years, so I think his words should hold a lot of water. A couple of years ago, Snoop was speaking on the whole Pac and Biggie beef during a Hot 97 Interview, and he asked the Interviewers if he could tell them about a more gangster story...
“…there was a story even more gangsta than that…Him(Tupac) and Nas. It was so gangsta. This was prequel to me meeting Angie Martinez for an interview…MTV had the Award show at Central Park, so Tupac and all of us from Death Row, we mobbing…we see Nas…He (Tupac) walked up to nas…nas had about a hundred goons with him that I see, that I know that they killers, but pac aint tripping and he just don’t care, so he walk up to nas…nas reached out to shake pac hand, and nas say ‘I got love for you pac’, and pac said, ‘well nigga, if you got love for me, I got a song coming out where I dissed you, Jay-Z, Biggie…’ He named like about 40 niggaz…he named a bunch of niggas, and he told nas, ‘if you got love for me, you aint gon say nothing after this record come out.' Nas shook the nigga hand and looked over his shoulder…he had about a hundred niggaz with him, all them niggaz had their hands on their shit (guns). He did them niggaz like this…like he winked his eye…like don’t do it. And he shook pac hand and he said I love you pac, and they separated. And then pac looked at me (on the way back) ‘I told you, nigga, we got these niggazs…we got this niggas punked out here’. But to me, nas was gangsta, cos he didn’t push the light…He could have pushed the green button, and we’d have been done, cos we didn’t have no artillery in New York and they did.” (Hot 97 FM Interview).
