Bad Meets Evil; 2nd Week At the Top- Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Bad Meets Evil- Hell; The Sequel is at the top for a second week running. Royce Da 5'9 and Eminem's collabo EP sold 63,000 copies this week, and they are now at a total of 234,000 after 2 weeks on the chart. I suspect that the sales will spring up again once they shoot the video for Lighters with Bruno Mars. The track is already an official second single, and is already gaining air play on radio.

Pitbull's Planet Pit sold 55,000 copies after one week in stores. Now, this dude, i didn't like before, but i am really feeling his feel-good music concept. And he has some nice punchlines too. Pitbull might not be a conventional rapper with the three verse and hooks to separate them, but he seems to have his own lane right now. The man is everywhere, and you can trust that even if he wont go plat with the album, he would definitely go plat with one or two of his singles.

Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday is back on the charts, after she won award for the Best Female Hip Hop Artist category 2 nights ago- who else could have won it? Anyway, the album sold 14,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 1,446,000 copies sold so far.

Tech N9ne's All 6's & 7's sold 12, 000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 86,000 copies. And Self-Made, Vol.1 from Maybach Music Group sold 8,000 this week, and is now at a 102,000 copies so far. Gorilla Zoe's KING KONG album sold 5,700 copies, with a total now at 16,000.

Bad Meets Evil at Number 1: Rap Albums on Billboard Charts

Bad Meets evil: Hell, The Sequel is at the top this week, just as expected. I predicted that the EP by Eminem and Royce Da 5’9 would sell between 80- 180k first week, and they sold 171,000 copies; I guess my predictions were right. I am really happy for Royce, cos he is set for life with this one. This album would definitely go plat in a couple of months, and it would continue to sell for a very long time, which would bring more royalty checks for Royce. Royce has been in the underground for too long, and this is definitely his big break.

All 6’s & 7’s from Tech N9ne sold 18,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 74,000 copies sold.  Whiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers sold 14,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 459,000 copies sold. He is almost at Gold status, but I doubt if he can make it to platinum status.

 

Eminem’s Recovery is back on the charts, definitely off of the buzz from the Bad Meets Evil EP. His 6^th studio album sold 12,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 3,905,000 so far. He is just 95,000 copies short of going quadruple platinum; and that is in the U.S alone. This man, as I always say, has a lane of his own. The best decision Royce made was to make an EP with him. Of course Royce just as talented as Eminem, but em has a crazy following.

Self-Made, Vol.1 from Maybach Music Group sold 11,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 101,000 copies sold. Gorilla Zoe’s new album, King Kong debuted selling 10,000 copies this week.

 And apart from his group compilation album, the Boss, Rick Ross is also on the charts with his solo effort; Teflon Don. His 4^th album sold 3,500 copies this week, and is now at a total of 638,000 copies sold so far.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Tech N9ne is on top this week with his new release, All 6's &7's, which moved 56,000 after a week in stores. I have to say, that is impressive for someone i barely know. Okay, i am just one person, but i bet if you picked 10 people out of the crowd from where i am from and ask them who Tech N9ne was, none would know. I am not saying this to belittle him in anyway, but just out of curiosity about how he does it. I mean, how he has managed to build a big enough buzz, without having hot singles on heavy rotation, or videos on MTV. Or am i the one missing something?

Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 from Beastie Boys sold 15,000 copies this week, which now brings their total to 243,000 copies sold. No comment from me on these guys, cos i can't say i have heard even one of their songs. I know they were popping back in the days, and they are a bunch of white boys...no, white men now; that's all i know about them. I am sorry, there are so many people out now, and you have to be super dope to catch my attention. If i listen to you once, and i don't feel you, then it's on to the next one. Or, just sticking to my favorites.

Whiz Khalifa sold 14,000 copies of his Rolling papers album this week, bringing his total sales so far to 445,000 copies. He is almost Gold, but he has singles that have already sold Platinum.

Maybach Music Group Presents...Self Made, Vol. 1 sold 12,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 90,000 copies. Rick Ross and the boys are making some side money with that compilation.

Tyler the Creator sold 4,600 copies this week of his Goblin album, with a total now at 75,000. I just started listening to the dude, and i can't really comment on him yet. But, if you would just ask what i feel about the guy right now, i would it is either he is just being him, or he is trying to get some attention with all the controversial lyrics he be spitting, and all the weird looking videos.

I Love You (A Dedication To My Fans), the mixtape from D-Block general, Jadakiss sold 3,300 copies this week, now totaling at 18,000 copies. I think it is cool that he can make some money from a mixtape.

Wacka Flocka Flames's Flockaveli album sold 2,500 copies this week, now at a total of 272,000 copies. He must have done something major recently for this CD to pop back on the charts.

Okay, next week is going to be huge, as the Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 EP would have completed the one week cycle, and we would get to know how many copies it sells. I am predicting between 80-170k, but people are saying it might sell higher...let's just wait and see.
