It is common knowledge that Eminem had a drug problem at some time during the early part of his career. He even overdosed on some drugs at some point, but thank God he got medical attention on time, and he got clean afterwards. Eminem's old bodyguard, Big Naz who has a tell all book about Eminem was recently interviewed on Cam Capone News. During the interview, he narrated a story about Eminem getting too high before a show and ending up falling off the stage during the show.

"This is a story that never made the book, so I might as well let this out now cos I'm not revising or adding any other stories to the book so you're getting an exclusive right here. We were in Boston and we did this show, and the stage had to be at least 12 feet from the ground. So you had the stage, and then you had the barricades, and then you had the crowd. Em had drank...Bacardi White and he liked Heinekens. He'd drink a little bit of Heineken...Everybody drinks backstage. You know before you go on, its like the pep rally men! It's like a football team, you're getting a little hyped up before you go out there and perform. Everybody take a little sip of something. This particular day he did too much. And he took an x (ecstasy) and he took a cap of a shrum (mushroom). So, he's into...the show was off the chain men! He's getting into...he's getting into the second verse of Brain Damage...the song Brain Damage...He's working across the stage, I'm far left, he's walking across the stage, and he's hype. He's doing his thing men! He's getting ready to go into the second verse, and before he could put his foot down, the drugs kicked in. You seen it. Everything just went in slow motion, and he couldn't remember the words. So Proof had to step up and finish the second verse. At that point, Em was completely high.
I don't know about you, but I have never seen anybody's high kick in the moment that it kicks in. That was the first and only time I've ever seen that. And he ended up falling off the stage. He fell off the stage, hit the barricade...It's dark, so you don't know how far down it is. When he falls off the stage, I jump down to get him. And I remember jumping down, and I'm 6'8, it's taking me forever, I'm like sh*t, when does this thing end. So when I jump down, I almost landed on him, so as I'm getting close to the ground, I see him so I had to stand on my legs. He had hit his ribs on the barricade, so Proof pretty much ended up finishing the rest of the show. We got Em back to stage so he could complete the contract, but Proof carried him throughout the show, meaning you know, vocally. So Proof became the artist, and Em became the hype man."
