Damon Dash Says Nipsey Hussle Was Pushing The Culture Forward

In his recent interview on Fox 11 Los Angeles, Damon Dash said Nipsey Hussle was moving the culture forward...the hip hop culture that is. He was on the show to promote his new company, Dame Dash Studios, and when he got asked by the host of the show to speak on Nipsey Hussle's death, he said...

"I mean it's sad. You know, he was pushing the culture forward. And umm, we were like minded in that way. You know, he read my book Vulture Vultures, and he actually promoted it. He came to see me. You know, he always wanted information. The real sad thing about this is it's not surprising, it's a pattern. You know, betrayal amongst friends is a pattern."

Okay, let me stop here for a second. I think Dame was throwing some shots at Jay Z with that last line. For those that don't know, Jay Z, Damon Dash, and Kareem Biggs formed a record label called Rocafela Records in the mid 90s, and sometime in the early 2000s, Jay Z cut ties with his former business partners. The label crumbled after that. Jay Z went on to form Roc Nation, and continued progressing in the music business, but Dame didn't do so well afterwards.  It seems Dame Dash hasn't gotten over what Jay did those many years ago.

Okay, back to what Damon Dash said about Nipsey Hussle...

"And men doing each other dirty is a pattern. You know, the people that are truth tellers, that want to be close to the people, they always end up being in some way sacrificed."

You can watch the full Damon Dash interview below. It is quite short.
