Remy Ma just got released from prison last weekend, and she is enjoying all the attention right now. After being away for six years, she came out and and immediately jumped on the remix of DJ Khaled's They Don't Love You No More. She more or less killed that beat, and is currently working on some new material. Although she and her former boss, Terror Squad C.E.O, Fat Joe had issues before she went in, they were able to squash the beef before she got out of prison a few days ago. In a recent interview with XXL, Joey Crack spoke on Remy's return to the music industry.
"Remy Martin has no real challenge. Remy Martin is loved. Remy Martin is, pound for pound, top one or two most lyrical female rappers in the world. [There’s] a lot of females out there. Not just rapping, but I'm just saying in general. A lot of female fans. She just gotta make hits. At the end of the day, [that’s] what my concern is. And she’s been taught by the hitmakers of the world. She’s gonna be alright. I have no concerns. 34 means nothing. You look, most rappers who are hot today are 34. She looks the same. She’s good."
True. I didn't know what to think about her till I heard her on DJ Khaled's They Don't Love You No More; she has gotten better with time. How do you do that after being locked up for six years? She really surprised me. I wish her all the best. With the right ingredients, the right producers and hitmakers by her side, she will have a great second run in the rap game.
