Nas is out there promoting the 20th Anniversary reissue of his debut album,
Illmatic, which is titled
Illmatic XX. The album is dropping on April 15th, and he was on
Real Time With Bill Maher speaking about the album yesterday. During the course of the interview,
Bill said he had seen an MTV list where
Nas was named number five best rapper of all time, and asked what
Nas thought about that. And
Nas said...
"Yea...nah, it's crazy cos, it's like, you know? Kids are always gonna have their number one's. You know? I'm 40, so kids, they got their new guys now. So, for me to be a number five is like uhm! It's it's a humbling thing for me. I'm really, I'm really excited to keep my career going now, because if I can stay number five right here, in anybody's list, in the mainstream, cos I'm not mainstream. I think I'm not mainstream. So if that mainstream audience can see me in the top five, I'm good money" (Real Time With Bill Maher)
