Former Bad Boy Rapper (Loon) Heading to Prison For 14 Years

It's most unfortunate that when Loon decided to get clean was when his past caught up with him. His was Diddy's biggest investment after Mase turned to Christ in 1999. Loon started off with Mase's Harlem World clique in 1998, but became Puff's right hand man around the early 00s, writing most of Puff's rhymes. He converted to Islam in 2009, changed his name to Amir Junaid Muhadith and started giving lectures all over the world on how Islam helped him leave a life of crime. He was arrested in 2010 at Brussels Airport in Germany...he was in Germany to give a lecture.




He had been held since then on a drug related crime, and was finally sentenced to 14 years in prison a couple of days ago. Below is a transcribed message from a video recording he did in prison-

“I want to explain to you, in detail, the charge that I was charged with and the federal indictment from the Eastern District of North Carolina as well as the conspiracy charge which I was charged with, conspiring to possess with intent to distribute one or more kilo of heroin. … In 2008 — some individuals had crossed my path who were interested, at one point, in the music industry. At one point, these individuals called me in relation to something totally different than the lifestyle I was living. But the fact I answered placed me under the umbrella of conspiracy and therefore, once these individuals were apprehended by the United States government, they chose to implement in the situation and tried to implement in the leadership role. … But because of the way the United States government works, they used the information of the informant and put together an elaborate story to make it look like I had a leadership role.”




That's most unfortunate. And it is really funny that most rappers that has one time or the other signed to Puff Daddy's (Diddy's) Bad Boy records end up in bad situation. Black Rob has been going in and out of jail for a while; G-DEP is in jail; Shyne recently got out after serving a 10 year bid; Mase became a pastor, came back to hip hop, went back to the church world, and is back again (he is confused); now Loon is about to begin serving a 14 year bid....I don't know men! People say Diddy always make his artist sign shitty contracts that pays him more. Most of rappers are always hungry for the limelight, they sign without a lawyer.
