I'm sorry this is coming late; I usually put it up on Wednesdays, but I wasn't physically okay yesterday. So, as we have it, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are still ruling the charts...check out the top selling rap albums on Billboard chart this week below-
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis- The Heist- 29,000 (490,000)
Kendrick Lamar- Good Kid, M.A.A.D City- 17,000 (778,000)
A$AP Rocky- Long Live A$AP- 11,000 (284,000)
The Weekend- Trilogy- 11,000 (289,000)
T.I- Trouble Man- 8,900 (420,000)
2 Chainz- Based On A T.R.U Story- 6,900 (564,000)
Wiz Khalifa- O.N.I.F.C- 5,400 (342,000)
Chief Keef- Finally Rich- 4,300 (144,000)
Joe Budden- No Love Lost- 3,900 (56,000)
Game- Jesus Piece- 3,900 (209,000)
All, but one (Long Live A$AP) of the albums on the list above were released last year, and none has gone Platinum yet. What that means is that through 2012, till the end of the first quarter of 2013, no Hip Hop album has been able to sell a million copies. Hmm! What's happening. I guess the heavy hitters like Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake and Lil Wayne are the only rappers that can sell platinum in this current times. I think Kendrick will go plat in a couple of months, but I don't know if anyone else on this list can go plat.
