Some Hip Hop Facts You Might Not Know

I like to do this every week to educate my readers on the Hip Hop culture, and let them in on some not too common facts about rappers. I put this up every Saturday...have fun reading, and be Edutained.

Below are 7 Hip Hop facts you might not know-

7.  Warren G and Dr. Dre are stepbrothers'. Their mother, Verna, was first married to Dre's father before divorcing him and marrying Warren G's father, who is also named Warren G...Warren Griffin.

6.  The late Notorious B.I.G, DMX, Busta Rhymes, and Jay-Z attended the same High School.

5.  Nicki Minaj is originally from Trinidad and Tobago. She moved to the New York City borough of Queens when she was 5 years old.

4.  Ja Rule's 5th album, Blood In My Eyes (2003), was originally a mixtape, but due to Ja's contractual agreement with Murder Inc which had him releasing albums annually, he was ordered by his label to release it as an album. The album was made up of 14 tracks dissing 50 Cent as they had beef at the time. Although it didn't sell Platinum as the 4 albums he released previously, it still gained a Gold plaque.

3.  Beatmaker/Producer, Timbaland confessed to have been blown away by Aaliyah's beauty when he first met her in 1995. She was too young for him, so he took her as a younger sister. A couple of years after her passing, he met a girl that looked exactly like her, and told his friends right there and then that he would marry her...they were married 4 years later.

2.  Busta Rhymes and Biggie are full Jamaican's; both their parents are Jamaican's that settled in the U.S.

1.  Back in the early 90s, Timbaland was accidentally shot in the neck by his friend. The bullet traveled from his neck to his lower armpit. Doctors had problems getting the bullet out, so they just treated the wound and let him heal...the bullet is still in him till this very day.
