There you have it, the top ten rap albums on billboard.
T.I is at a total of 1,116,409, already passed the million mark in sales and still selling. With the new single with rihana, he might just go double plat. Q-tip is new on the chat, and came in with a first week sales of 34, 219.
Lil wayne on the number three spot is not knew to the chart. He has been on the top ten rap chart for about 5 months straight. His total sales is at 2,648,682. That is 2 times plat and gunning for the third one. The way i see it, the album is going to end up selling more than 3 million copies. And that is U.S.A sales alone.
Young jeezy is still holding on strong with an album that clearly describes the state in which the American economy is in right now, a recession. He has sold a total of 589,571.
The game has gone gold with his latest album, and hopping to sell at least platinum like his previous albums that had no problem going plat. Lets hope he'd be able to boost his album sales with a new single off the deluxe edition of the album, with neyo, camera phone, that he plans to drop next week. The video has already been shot.
Even though plies has a new album on the way, you can still find his album on the charts, ourtesy of his neyo featured smash hit, "bust it baby". He is just above 500 thousand sold.
Lets hope the messiah of rap, NAS, manages to at least go gold with his highly controversial supposed to be titled "nigger" album. The album was almost shelved because of its title which was later changed to "untitled" With only one single on radio, "hero", the album has sold a total of 450, 000copies. Billboard already classified it gold, meaning it has shipped 500,000copies. The latest single, "make the world go round" just hit radio, and is yet to gain enough spins from dj's. The single features "the game" and "chris brown"
