HIP HOP IN NIGERIA (AFRICA.)

Nigerian music has been highly influenced by the American lifestyle, and music genre's. We want to sound like them, talk like them, talk about what they talk about what they talk about.
It's more than safe to say that Nigeria is a trend setter when it comes to keeping up with the music lifestyle of americans. We support them, to the extent that a lot of concerts are held every year bringing down this artist. From jay-z, to nas, to beyonce, to busta rhymes,kanye west, t-pain, akon, usher, ja rule, dmx.... and the list goes on. They have all come to Nigeria at one point or the other to perform.
Talking on hip hop, hip hop is the expression of one's self, whether as an individual or letting us into a whole community's lifestyle. Nigerians have mastered the art, even though it is said that we sometimes copy too much from them, the Americans.
I second to that, but the artist that have been accused of this said its not their fault, that talk about what they talk about because they grew up in the states or have been living there from time to time.
Artist like naeto c, modenine, ikechukwu, eeldee of the trybes men, all this aforementioned rappers have mastered the art of rapping to the extent that when American rappers have heard them rap, they were always shocked at the perfection.
You also have rappers that want to keep their rap African, keep their lyrics directly related to their community, society, or country at large. So they infuse a little african into their hip hop, whether in the lyrics or infusing the mother tongue while delivering it.
You have rappers like rugged man and lord of ajasa in this category.
Hip hop should be expressing your self, telling stories about your surrounding, so this later group should be the ones on a better track in case of any international acclaim.
None the less, Nigerians have championed this act better than any other african country, to the point that the first time ever African mtv awards is to be held in nigerian capital, lagos.
