The Forbes employee responsible for calculating rappers net worth and ho much they make yearly, Zack O'Malley Greenburg was on The Breakfast Club show yesterday, and he gave a breakdown of the top 5 richest men in Hip Hop for 2019, and what makes up their net worth.

Before mentioning the top 5 richest rappers in 2019, he talked about a few rappers that almost made the list. In the list of those rappers were Birdman, Eminem, and Nas. He said if Drake didn't have such a big year, Nas would have been at the number 5 spot, instead of Drake.

Birdman Says Russell Simmons Refused Signing Cash Money Back in the Day

Byan "Birdman" Williams is a multi millionaire right now, and the co-owner of one of the most successful labels in Hip Hop history (Cash Money Records), but there was a time in the mid 90s he and his brother (Ronald "Slim" Williams) were looking for a home for their record company. They got refused by Russell Simmons (Co-founder of Def Jam Records) and a host of other record label execs, before they got a deal with Universal Music Group.

He spoke about being refused by Russell Simmons during his recent Forbes interview. Read his words below...

"Before we even got with Universal right, we met with everybody. A lot of them refused us bro. Russell Simmons refused us. I met with him personally. Lyor (Cohen), all those guys. They refused us. But, we was already making a million dollars a month. We was making millions of dollars independently. We refused to allow structure deal where they take anything from us."




That's the thing with life. A lot of people don't see your vision and won't want to invest in you, but you have to believe in yourself and keep pushing. Like Birdman and his brother, they finally got with Universal Music Group, and signed one of the best deals in Hip Hop music history. Read his words on this below...

Birdman Says To Be Successful in the Music Business is Not Easy

Yup. That's what Birdman said in his recent interview with Forbes. He says people think it is easy to be successful in the music business, but it is really not. In case you don't know, back in 1991, Birdman (Bryan 'Baby' Williams), and his brother, Ronald 'Slim' Williams founded Cash Money Records. Since then, the label has had a long list of multi platinum selling artists, including, Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj. According to cofounder Ronald Williams, the company has generated $2 billion since inception in 1991 (28 years ago).

Below are Birdman's words concerning how they make things look easy, but it is really not.

"We make this sh*t look easy, but it's really not. Well if you try it, you will see. Try your record company and see. We just make it look easy cos we've been doing it for so long. And we're great at what we do but I'll tell anybody who foresee this sh*t in the wrong aspect, try it. And you'll see what it's built on."

Brian 'Birdman' Williams, A.K.A Baby is one of the richest Hip Hop mogul's in the game. When you think of the fact that he owns the masters of some of the biggest rappers in the game in the last 10 years- Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and he makes money anytime they make money, then you have an idea how much this man really has. He started Cash Money Records with his brother, Ronald 'Slim' Williams in the early 90s, and they built the label into an empire. The man has dozens of cars, but we are only going to focus on his most luxurious cars today.

Charlamagne Speaks on Staying Calm During Interview with Birdman

A couple of months ago, Birdman went on The Breakfast Club show all angry at radio host, Charlamagne, and he kept repeating, 'put some respek on my name.' That phrase has become very popular since then. But what really caught my attention from that 2:30 seconds interview was the fact that Charlamagne was calm all through, even though Birdman was obviously angry at him and had come to the radio station with about half a dozen of his goons. So, why was Charlamage so calm? He answered it in an interview on VLAD TV.



Granted, this interview is about 4-5 months old, but I just saw it lately, and I thought it would be interesting to share it. VLAD himself asked him how come he was so calm, and he answered with...




"I'm the radio guy. You know what I'm saying. I'm not out here proclaiming to be a thug. Am not out here proclaiming to be a gangster. I ain't ever told nobody 'pull up on me, you gone see what's up...what's what.' You know. I'm a man at the end of the day. But go pull up on the guys that's being tough with you. Chance The Rapper Speaks on Effect of Having a Daughter on His Life

Chicago rapper, Chance The Rapper recently had a kid (a daughter named Kinsley) with his girlfriend. The 22 year old rapper is a first time father, and during his recent interview on Hot 97 Radio's Ebro in the Morning show, Ebro asked him how fatherhood has been for him so far, and he answered with...




"Yea, she's a month old and its...honestly, you know, it feels like the beginning of my life. I don't know if that's how it feels for you, but it feels like everything before this point in my life was like...was like one bullet point, you know. Like one thing in my life, and then every day since then has been a new bullet point. She grows really fast and she smiles, and...em! She looks at me in my eyes and you know, it's, it's...it.s...The meaning of life is the purpose of life, you know. And I mean, I am lucky to have experienced it at this age and at this time in my life. Yea, having a baby makes a boy grow into a man. I am happy he is experiencing this early in life. I wish I had had a baby in my twenties. Heck, I still don't have a kid, and I am in my 30s, but I am working on it. Being around friends with with kids, I know it is a beautiful thing.

Is 'Birdman' Gay?

Birdman, A.K.A Baby, A.K.A Brian Williams, co-founder of Cash Money Records twitted the photo you can see below some hours ago. What do you think? Is this man Gay? You know the gay alert has been on him all along when photos of him and Lil Wayne kissing hit the Internet some years back. He defended him kissing Wayne as a way of showing fatherly love to his adopted son, Weezy F Baby. And then he dumped Wayne, and started hanging around another suspect looking rapper, Young Thug. And now this picture? Hmm!

What Are Your Thoughts on the Lil Wayne and Baby Beef?

Asides from the fact that they had money issues, no one really knows what triggered the whole Lil Wayne and Baby beef. Wayne is currently on a "Fuck Cash Money" stint, and it is still shocking to me cos of how close he and Baby were. I mean, the man practically adopted Wayne when he signed him to Cash Money at 13 years old. Wayne is meant to be like the heir to the throne. So, what happened to make family members disagree to the point where they can't patch things up?















Just last month, I cut of the oldest friend I have on this earth, so I know no friendship lasts forever; but still, this whole war in the Cash Money empire baffles me. Wayne practically grew up in Cash Money studios, and when everyone left after the fall of the label (around the early 2000s), Baby kept investing his time and money in Wayne. And eventually, Wayne turned around and made millions for the company...virtually carrying the company on his back. And even going on to sign Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Tyga to his Young Money imprint, which raised Cash Money to new heights in the music industry. So, why would money come between this father and son?






Well, on second thought, what could come between father and son if not money, or a woman. We know the first element is there, but some people are making some allegations that Wayne got pissed with Baby when Young Thug came into the picture. People are painting a picture of Young Thug being Baby's new lover...assuming Wayne and Baby were gay lovers. Of course, all that's just rumor anyway.

Right now, I just wonder how they handle business side of things. Lil Wayne is meant to have dropped his Tha Carter 5 album since last year, but because of the whole internal beef thing, the label has put that on hold. And worse, they are planning to release Young Thug's new album, titled Carter 6. Hmm! This is definitely a swipe at Wayne. They are trying to hurt his legacy with this move. Not fair, if you ask me.












I wonder what will happen to the artists under Young Money...Tyga, Nicki, Drake, and the likes...will they go with Wayne when he eventually leaves Cash Money, or will they be held down at Cash Money, contractually? Hmm!

Lil Wayne Nolonger Wants Anything to Do With Baby and Cashmoney Records

Yesterday afternoon, a series of shocking Tweets from Lil Wayne's Twitter handle indicated that he wanted out of his Cash Money contract. Could this be true, or a publicity stunt for his Carter 5 album which is set to drop in a couple of weeks?

Birdman Addresses Drake and Tyga Beef

Tyga and Drake are YMCMB...Which means they are both signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money label, which is under Cash Money Records. So, it is shocking that Tyga has been dissing Drake in interviews and on songs lately. YMCMB boss, Baby, A.K.A Birdman spoke on the whole charade yesterday, during his interview on New York's Hot 97 Radio Show.






During the course of the interview, he got asked what he thinks of the whole Tyga and Drake rift, and he said...




“Tyga know where he stand in this game compared to Drake. Numbers don’t lie. Let’s just keep it 1,000. I got all the love and respect for Tyga. That’s been my little bro... My intake is—I’m family orientated, either you’re in or you’re out. If you out, you’re an outcast to me. If you’re in, we family. It’s on you to choose your side, man. To me, it ain’t no 'on and off' switch with me. You with us or you ain’t, you know? You gotta choose your side. But it’s always respect for Tyga. I got nothing but respect for 
Tyga.”

Tyga and Blac Chyna Breakup

So many news of breakups and divorces in the hip hop world right now. The latest is news that YMCMB artist, Tyga has called it quits with his fiancee and baby mama, Blac Chyna for allegedly cheating on him. For those who don't know, Blacc Chyna used to be a stripper. There is nothing wrong with the hustle, but from my experience, I know it is hard for people in that profession to totally cut off all past contacts. But Tyga should have know this. Sources close to the former pair tell TMZ ... Tyga's the one who called it quits. It's unclear why he threw in the towel. We're told Blac Chyna isn't acknowledging the breakup -- she's in denial -- and some of her stuff is still at the house. We're told Tyga hosted two pool parties at their home in the last few weeks (including one for Kylie Jenner's birthday) but she wasn't invited to either. (TMZ)

Baby Gets His Daughter a Benz G Class SUV For Her 16th Birthday Present

Over the weekend, Baby (Birdman) threw a big party for his daughter, Bria Williams. The celebration for the 16 year old went down at a club in Miami. A four-feet tall cake and Justin Bieber singing happy birthday (via video) were really the icing on the cake; the biggest gift of the night was the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G Class SUV (valued at $120,000) that Brian 'Baby' Williams got for his daughter. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Get Engaged

Although Kanye West put the cart before the horse, it is still good to hear that he finally got engaged to his girlfriend/baby mama, Kim Kardashian. He made the event grand yesterday night at San Francisco's AT&T park during Kim's birthday party celebration.

Kanye rented out the stadium for a private event with family and friends, asking future mother-in-law Kris Jenner for her daughter’s hand in marriage days leading up to the night.

Kanyed popped the big question to Kardashian, getting down on one knee and presenting kim with a 15-carat diamond ring made by celebrity jeweler, Lorraine Schwartz. Kim joyfully said yes during the emotional moment, as an orchestra played Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” followed by Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and Kanye’s “Knock You Down,” as a fireworks show began over the 41,000 capacity ballpark, built alongside the San Francisco Bay. Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Name Newborn

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their child to the world on Saturday, 15th June. No pics of the baby-girl has been seen yet, but the public had been speculating on names that the couple would give their newborn. People thought of names like Kai or Kaidance, since the kids parents' names begin with a 'K.' But, the name is nothing along that line. They actually named their baby-girl, North; so, she will be called North West in school. Get it? Her first name is North, and her last name is West. And they made sure not to give her a middle name. Hmm!

An insider gave E! News a little info concerning the newborn-

"They will call her Nori for short. She has black straight hair. Lots of it! Looks like a good mix of both of them, but more like Kim. She's adorable."

I think like Nori better...Nori West. Yea, that sounds cool. Nori actually means 'rule' in Japanese. Anyway, congratulations to them. I know how great having a new baby is; my sister gave birth to a baby-girl on Tuesday.

TQ Speaks On 'Baby' and 'Lil Wayne' Kissing Habit

A couple of years ago, a picture of 'Lil Wayne' and Bryan 'Baby' Williams kissing each other on the lips hit the internet. It was shocking to see two grown men who were believed to be heterosexuals kissing themselves in public. The explanation from Baby was that Lil Wayne is like his son, and that they greet themselves that way. Actually, a lot of Italian men greet themselves that way, but in a business (Hip Hop music business) filled with Homophobics, people didn't take it likely. R&B singer, TQ was signed Cash Money Records between  2002-2004, and he said seeing Lil Wayne and Baby kissing always bugged him out. During a recent interview on UGS radio, he spoke on the issue-

"I never understood it. I asked for an explanation and they gave me an explanation and as a man, as part of my clique, had to respect the explanation. People don't understand, them dudes did that sh*t every day. They consider themselves Father and Son. We constantly use to get into that and I told them when we in public and cameras were under they are not gonna understand that sh*t and them n*ggas didn't care. It was constantly happening every day. We had mad conversations about that. That was a constant struggle and they never gave a f*ck about my opinion about it. I have never seen homosexual tendencies from them cats! I think it's weird, but I don't think there was no homosexual sh*t involved!" 

Hmm! I don't know what to say. I know Lil Wayne joined Cash Money Records when he was like 12 years old, and Baby was like a father figure in his life. Maybe that had been their style of greeting from that time.  

Birdman Speaks On YMCMB Empire

In a recent interview, Birdman, a.k.a Baby, real name Bryan Williams spoke on the dozens of artists he has under his label, Cash Money Records, and how tough it is to keep, consistently dropping successful albums from his over 4 dozen artists signed and affiliated with the label.



Below is what he had to say about this in a recent interview with MTV-

"Right now, as we stand, we have [48 acts] between Young Money, Cash Money, We the Best...

The goal is to keep developing and keep putting out, so to do that we have to keep buckling down, grindin' hard and stayin' focused. And that's a big challenge, to put a hundred out...

 Everybody that's doin' this — outside of who we done rocked with — is really an enemy to me. So if you ain't on the team, I'm after your head. If you're doin' what we're doin'. We wanna do the most numbers every year, each year, the most digital numbers. That's what we 'bout, if you doin' this music and you ain't rockin' with us, you're on the menu so that's just what it is."

So, off the top of my head, I know he has Lil Wayne, Drake, Mack Maine, Gudda Gudda, Nicki Minaj, Cory Gunz, Lil Twist and Tyga under Young Money (which is Wayne's label under cash money); then he has G Malone, Busta Rhymes, Bow Wow, T- Pain, and Kevin Rudolf under Cash Money; and then the partnership with We The Best gives him DJ Khaled and Ace Hood under his label. That's 15 from the top of my head, but ofcos they are more. My question is how many of these acts is he focusing on?

I think they give too much focus to the biggest acts on the label- Wayne, Drake, Tyga and Nicki Minaj. I was glad when I saw Ace Hood's new video with Trey Songz (I Need Your Love) on MTV yesterday; I think Ace has really developed himself (skill-wise) through the years, and can become bigger than he currently is in years to come. But I think the label also has to get out an album by Cory Gunz; he is talented, and has a lil hype right now. 



Young Money Cash Money Billionaires (YCMB) are running things right now, but they definitely need to work on the other acts on the roaster for future purposes.

Cash Money Records Reaches 500 Million Songs Sold Worldwide

Through their ups and down in the last 17 years or so, Cash Money Records has managed to sell over 500 million songs. What this means that the cumulative sales of songs of all the artist that are and have been signed to Cash Money Records recently crossed the 500 million mark. That's great. Congratulation to them. I think Young Money (which is Wayne's label under Cash Money) helped a lot with that in the last 4 years.


Cash Money Records was founded by brothers, Ronald "Slim" Williams, and Bryan "Birdman" Williams in 1991, and they have had such artists as Juvenile, Young Turk, Mannie Fresh, B.G, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and Drake signed to the label.

Juvenile Says Lil Wayne Is Scared To Leave Cash Money

Juvenile and Lil Wayne were signed to Cash Money around the same time in the 90s; Juve was a bigger star back then. When Juve didn't like the situation again in the mid 00s, he left Cash Money. In a recent interview with Complex magazine, he said Wayne wanted to leave Cash Money Records the same time he left, but was probably too scared to make the move. Cash Money Records is owned by the William brothers- Bryan "Baby" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams.


I knew Lil Wayne always wanted to leave; he has been signed to them since 1995, when he was just 13 years old. He definitely didn't know the business side of life at the time. But, everytime he tries to leave, Baby  gets him a new car, or give him a million dollars cash for his birthday, or grant him his own label under Cash Money (Young Money). Anything so as not to lose his cash-cow. But, we can never really know- would Wayne have gotten as big as he is if he had left Cash Money?

“When Wayne was trying to leave Cash Money [in the mid 2000s], same thing," he explained. "He was trying to find out how did I leave, what did I do, he wanted to see my paperwork. I was like you can see it, but you’re gonna have to pay me for it now because now I know you ain’t with me. You’re own your own because I’m definitely on my own. If you want the paperwork and help from my end, I need to be compensated for it. [He never paid for it]." 

Juvenile also added that he feels "Wayne really got beat out of all his money." 

“Still up to the day, Wayne really got beat out of all his money and took another contract. That’s the part I never understood. I was signed to Atlantic and Jay-Z was excited about that because now we was about to get our own money. That’s what I really wanted. I wanted him to leave. All of a sudden he signed back I’m like, ‘Damn, what type of deal he got working?’" 

Juve went on to say that Cash Money is still not giving Wayne what he deserves.

“If you notice the Young Money/Cash Money imprint, some of the stuff that need to say Young Money don’t say Young Money. I know Baby and I know Ronald ["Slim" Williams]. They ain’t giving up power of their company. They don’t care how big Wayne gets, they not giving up. If I didn’t get it, he ain’t getting it." 

Juvenile went on to add that he felt Wayne was "scared" to leave.

“I thought he was scared [that’s why he stayed]," Juvenile explained. "That’s how I took it. I was like, ‘You don’t have to be scared.’ I’m really from the projects. No disrespect to them, but I’m 10 times more street than they are. They would never go to some of the places I’d go, they’d never turn some of the corners I turned because they’re not like that. It’s two different ballgames. So I’m like, ‘Don’t let them niggas intimidate you. Don’t let that looking hard shit intimidate you because nigga I’m really with it. If you wanna leave, leave. You’re with me now, not them.’ One thing led to another and he signed back, but I took it as he was scared.” (hiphopdx.com)

Birdman's Cars

Birdman, a.k.a Baby, real name Brian Williams, has always had a fetish for fly cars, and I put up this post to show off the latest of his babies. In case you don't know, he co-owns Cash Money Records with his brother, Ronald "slim" Williams.








Of course Birdman has many many cars, but I have put up his latest and best. He has a white 2011 Maybach 62s Drop-Top Landaulet, which cost $1.5 million; a red Rolls Royce Phantom ($500k); a $750k Lamborghini Aventador; a black Bentley Mulsanne ($300k) and a red Bugatti Veyron which cost $2.5 million.

Baby Comments On Common/Drake Beef- It's Drake 100%

Baby, Cash Money Records C.E.O has come forward to comment on the ongoing beef/battle between Common and Drake. It all started with Drake believing that Common's "sweet" track was aimed at him. He then started talking reckless about common at shows and on twitter. He took it one step further by dedicating a whole verse towards Common on Stay Schemin, a track on Rick Ross's newly released mixtape- Rich Forever. Baby, a.k.a Brian Williams says his label has never been about dising to up record sales-


“Drake the homie so we ride or die. Ain’t no second questions about that, but we never been a brand to make records and want to make money off of making records of other people that’s not what we about,” Birdman explained. “So to me however the young homie deal with it we behind him, we supporting him 100 percent with our life so that’s just what it is. Ain’t no other way. Drake the lil’ homie that’s blood, that’s family, and ain’t no siding with that. It’s Drake or nothing.”




Basically, what Baby is saying is that they have never been the ones to focus on making beef records for the purpose of getting attention, which then translate to more records being sold. But he can't say members of his team haven't focused on dissing other rappers one way or the other. Presentlly, Nicki Minaj is working on dropping her sophomore album in a couple of months, and it is no surprise that she just dropped a new single titled stupid hoe, which is directed at Lil Kim. She is also working on shooting the video of the track. By the way, the track is one of the most annoying song i have heard from her thus far. And, going back to the beefing history of Cash Money/Young Money, Nicki also dropped Roman's Revenge a few weeks before her Pink Friday album dropped in 2010. Roman's Revenge was another diss track towards Lil Kim.



Rewind back to a couple of days before Carter 4 dropped last year, and you also have a track with Lil Wayne going at Jay-Z leak. So, what are we talking about? Anyway, i would really love a full fledged Common/Drake battle, so i just hope Baby doesn't try to stop Drake from making another record aimed at Common. I think after that, he would get his real ass whooping. The only card he can pull at Common is the album sales card...but he can't front on the lyrical tip...he knows Common is not to be messed with. Let's just see how things turn out.
