Update On Heavy D's Estate

Late legendary rapper, Heavy D (Dwight Myers) passed away almost 2 years ago (November 8, 2011), and there has been recent news on who would have control over his estate. Rumour had that his brother was trying to bring up an old will he claimed Heavy D wrote back in 1999, which cuts out his 13 year old daughter from getting any benefits (as she hadn't been born at the time). But the family has come forward to disclaim that. Heavy's mom says Floyd Myers (Heavy's brother) would be in control of the estate till Xea (Heavy's daughter) is old enough-

"Heavy's Estate needs to be managed. It cannot be self-managed or self-administered and it has to be Court approved. Open bills, unfinished business, taxes and day-to-day decisions including future plans for his daughter all need to be done. This management needs someone who is capable, smart, honest and close to this family. The family all wanted Floyd as that person to represent Dwight's estate. All of Heavy's assets are going to his 13-year-old Daughter Xea -- including his Social Security, Pension, and future Royalties. All of Heavy's personal belongings are in storage for his Daughter until she gets a bit older. The Myers family is a close-knit family and always will be. Just the way Heavy liked it." (TMZ)

That's better. It is always sad when family members of a dead celebrity start to fight themselves over money and property after the celebrity's death.
